Just as almost everybody else has said, the neighborhood isn’t nice. There is a bohemian neighborhood a short seven minute walk. A certain name change to Le Meridien, they still have a lot to do to bring this hotel up to Marriott standards.
4.2
Not the safest area but had very easy access to the subway. The hotel’s sparkly hour was very nice with the opportunity to meet other patrons…and the staff was the very best!!
4.2
We really like this hotel. One of the best so far. It is very close to the main tourist attractions, which allowed us to walk to. However; what we enjoyed the most was the hotel staff. They were so polite and ready to help us with our needs and answering our questions. The two concierge/ bell men were especially helpful in telling is what to visit and how to get there. They also continuously reminded us to be careful for pick pockets and they were right as we met people that were robbed during their stay. Highly recommend to all travelling to Santiago to stay at this hotel.

Don’t book this through hotels.com if you need to make any adjustments.
They let me know that because it was third party there was nothing they can do.

The building is old and outdated. In the process of been remodeled. The carpets are dirty and stain. Even though the sheets and towels are clean, the whole building look nasty because the carpets.

Location is excellent; 5 min walk to the subway and dozens of bus stops at your doorstep. The area around the hotel is quite rundown; business closed. The closest restaurant area is 15 min away. The property is in the middle of restoration; will belong to Marriott as of December. The rooms are certainly not in best shape. Dirty carpet and dated furniture.

Good location !

It does not show on the hotel listing, but the Crowne Plaza was at the epicenter of civil protests 2-3 years ago. As such, the neighborhood is still very much boarded up and graffitied everywhere. It's very close to Lastarria but the immediate surrounding of the hotel is desolate.
Additionally, the photos on the listing are not up-to-date. While it looks like some renovations have been done to the entrance and common (eating) areas, the hotel is a bit shabbier than the photos let on. There was some mould on the ceiling of our bathroom and the wood on the doors was in bad shape from lack of bathroom ventilation. The rooms are in need of an upgrade. The bed was very comfy and clean, though.
We were particularly annoyed that the listing shows photos of a nice, well-equipped gym (which is a must for us when travelling). However, 1 of the 3 photos of the gym is clearly not at this hotel (the one with the pullies).
Lastly, the Expedia listing mentioned the pool would be open from November to April. We arrived Nov 19th and the pool was not open and did not seem to be in the process of opening shortly. I recommend you look at the Crowne Plaza website directly to see if it's open or not.

Area around the hotel is sketchy as hell.
4.2
Hotel is very tired. It is walled in behind guarded heavy security gates. The immediate area is awash in graffiti, and all stores and shops in the immediate area have permanently closed. Carpeting was worn and dirty and toilet did not flush properly.
4.2
The hotel is very tired: decor and tech-wise.
Most staff lacked friendliness except Richy, who provided a welcoming touch.
4.2
Good staff, clean and comfortable rooms, but a terrible restaurant, both in terms of cleanliness, the competence of the staff or the quality of the food does not reach the level of a street eatery in Zimbabwe.
4.2
Excellent comeback for this hotel in general, clean, nice staff and overall superb!, only problem is the accessibility, because due to the manifestations of Some groups, the had to put up a barrier, NOT the hotel´s fault, but still...

Couldn't tell you. Didn't stay here. Just want to get of message from hotel.coms sending me constant reminders.

This property is closed as it is under renovation. Showed up to a closed building, the reservation had been transferred to the Intercontinental across town. Didn’t know anything about this, a construction worker had to tell me lol. He wasn’t even working on the property. Lucky me for finding someone to tell me. What a joke..

Great stay at Crowne Plaza Santiago; very friendly and attentive staff that went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. Great location, close to the most interesting barrio’s.

The Staff are absolutely fantastic! Available for every little need and so nice. I had a little trouble with heat and the hair dryer but that wasn't too bad. The location was great and everything you might need is on site. I would highly reccomend for the value.

Be VERY careful at night within the immediate vicinity of this hotel. My iPhone was ripped out of my hands (i.e. stolen) by a guy riding down the sidewalk on a bike at a high rate of speed (on the same side of the street as the hotel, about a 30-second walk from the hotel’s entrance) at 8.15pm, last Wednesday night 5/22/19. The staff was helpful in allowing me to make the necessary phone calls shortly thereafter and also helped me use the guest computer next to the front desk. The room was comfortable. Nice bed. Great room rate.

Great location!! Walking distance to Bellavista and Listeria.
Shower curtain was nasty!!

Great location. Easy walking distance to good restaurants and most of the important historical sights. Nice hotel bar with live local musicians. Staff was very welcoming. Older hotel but well maintained. We would definitely stay here again.

I very much enjoyed my stay. The service was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly. They answered all my questions. I was lucky to be upgraded to the concierge floor based on the price paid along with my IHG membership. Excellent concierge service and wonderful food.

Honestly, on of the worst hotels i have every stayed in. Walls in the hallway were scuffed and filthy to the point that it look like i was in a cheap roadside motel. The first room I was assigned already had people in it, the second room had a smell of cigarette smoke and had a dirty bathroom. I finlally stayed in my third room, but it was in rough shape as the baseboards were falling apart and the carpet was gross. This hotel needs a serious renovation, it is more in line with 2 star hotel options in its current condition.

Good location. Room was comfortable. No problem with WiFi in the room. Excellent buffet breakfast. Overall a good experience.

The pool is amazing. Some staff is super rude to guest and anyone who comes to visit.

Fine hotel. On a main road. Has easy parking. Excellent staff, fluent in English. Large room on executive level, well air-conditioned and quiet, looking out across the city to a mountain. Hotel renovated but needs new carpets. Small but very good breakfast in executive lounge. A pricey but delicious hotel restaurant, at least the fish and seafood we tried for lunch. Room service prompt but food decent rather than special. Has a Starbucks. Close to Fuente Alemana, a marvelous sandwich restaurant. Close to banks and ATM and money exchange, within walking distance of a good bakery and a supermarket. Near downtown but beware the expensive hotel taxis which charge a flat fee - very clean taxi though. And you can get cheaper taxis at the street. Bus service just outside hotel. Surrounding area full of minimarkets and restaurants.

We had a very pleasant stay for 2 nights. Close to walk to most places. Nice sized room with a bit of a view. Quick check in and helped us arrange an airport transfer at last notice. Will stay again on my next visit.

We had a short but really nice stay, very helpful staff

Very nice hotel close to great restaurants and walking distance to main square attractions and supermarkets also close by. Love the room service too.

Overall this was a very nice hotel. I only cut a star because the carpeting was looking a little tired, and our hair dryer blew up and a light was malfunctioning. The staff was excellent and very attentive. It was located very close to a subway station, as well as some very nice parks that go through the city with wonderful statues. We didn't find a good place to dine that was close. The breakfasts in the Hotel were okay, but without as much selection as some other high-end hotels. Our price through hotels.com made it a very good value for the city.
