We were assigned a room, it had a terrible odor. When I requested a different room, there was no problem switching, which we appreciated. Room was clean & quiet. We slept well. Complementary breakfast was nice.

My initial impression when I walked into the hotel was that it was a bit dated. The main lobby was clean and the front desk attendant was pleasant and professional. When I got to my room, I did find some hairs on the one beds comforter. The other bed however was clean. That night I was woken up at 2 in the morning to a loud mechanical sound that did not stop until close to 330 am. I stopped down to the front desk around 3am and asked what was causing the noise below my room ( I was on the 2nd floor) and I was informed the compressor for the fire sprinkler system was causing the noise and usually only last 10 minutes but had not shut off for some reason. Since they were full they could not move me to another room. Fortunately the hotel manager did make up for this inconvenience by knocking 50% off my 1st nights stay and they were able to find me a new room for the following night. Needless to say while it wasn’t the best place I’ve stayed, the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. I honestly think if they could put some more money into updating the facilities and hiring more help with housekeeping it would be a really nice hotel.

Staff went above and beyond!

Good breakfast. Check in staff was friendly. Housekeeping was lacking... We had to clean the bathroom before we even unpacked, carpet was stained.

We stayed here during the VT State Fair. Super easy to walk across the street to the fairgrounds. Room was clean, staff were nice. Walking distance to fast food or a bar down the road. Pool looked nice, but did not use. Would stay again.

Hotel room was clean and overall a good value for the money

The hotel was decent. It was clean but a little dated. It also had a musty smell but there is a pool on the property so that is sometimes the cause. The one thing I thought was very odd was the smoke detector in the room was covered by a plastic bag, I did let the front desk know right away but they were not sure why. I just thought that was a little unsafe and not sure why housekeeping did not notice it.

This is an older property. However, it is perfect for anyone looking for clean, quiet and friendly lodging. Bed was super comfy. Room larger than average with microwave and fridge. Definitely would recommend.

The check in girl with all the piercings was very rude. The bikers were very loud. Overall bad experience.

It was a pleasant stay since it is more of a personal trip to see my dad.

Limited parking and while I know there is nothing that can be done about it the hotel was undergoing renovations.

Good front desk personnel but very poor physical condition of the hotel. They are renovating exterior but interior is very run down.

The good news is they just started renovations. The bad news for us was we didn’t know it was that bad. There is currently some outdoor renovations happening but it’s the indoors that are worse. Our first room - yes, first room - we had just gotten in and a mouse ran across the floor. If we could have changed hotels at that point, we would have but there were not any better choices. Many of the other places were either closed, worse off, or location was poor. The second room had plaster falling from the ceiling which we didn’t notice immediately. Hall floor carpets are well worn and have holes. Same in the rooms. The staff did as best they could with the circumstances. This was a very nice property years ago but has aged badly. Hopefully the renovations go swift and smoothly but until then it might be best to stay anywhere outside of Rutland - Killington and Ludlow come to mind.

The room and bed were comfortable. There was a smoke smell in the hallway that was not nice. The front desk people knew about it and were trying to track it down, but...it was there the whole time. Breakfast was marvelous. We were very happy with the selections. Parking was a little hard as there was work going on on the outside of the building. It will look very nice when they finish it. We had 3 women in the room and it was comfortably crowded. Our only issue was the smell and they were trying to figure it. The construction will be done soon too.

This hotel is in the middle of renovations and they still were charging $180 and up. When my key cards did not work I asked the woman at the front desk if they had another room, she completely ignored what i was saying and continued by saying the maintenance man was going to be there soon. We went up together at which point the man said the door was broken. He went to fix it while i went to get food. I had to wait about 20 minutes for him to finish and i had been driving all day. When i took shower, I was standing in 6 inches of water by the end. When I went to get plastic ware from downstairs, i realized the door still did not work and had to put a towel in the door just to be able to get back in my room, and when i alerted the lady at the front the key still did not work, it was only then that she asked if i wanted to move rooms, after all the damage had been done. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Nice staff, dated but clean

They are under major reconstruction. The pool was pretty nice. It seemed like the property needed updating.

Property is a bit older and slightly run down but clean and friendly staff. A little uncomfortable with the surroundings and some folks hanging around but ended up being just fine.

The room smelled so bad We told the front desk several times There were extensive renovations on the exterior. When I woke up in the morning my eyes were swollen from the noxious smell.

Our toilet did not work. I had to use a garbage can to flush the toilet. I went to get into my room and I could not get in twice. They had to change out the thing where you put in you card to get into my room. I am happy I travelled with my husband so I could have an extra adult with the kids. As it was difficult just to get into my room. NO offer for a discount. The room was over priced for what I got. I would never go there again!
