Great value in a great location. A full buffet breakfast for 10 euros was a steal! Friendly helpful staff. 😁

September 20-21, 2024. Location was amazing! No need to drive anywhere. Plenty of food, pubs, shopping all in walking distance. I’m sure there are rooms that have a nice view, ours just overlooked the roof. The room was great though, as it was divided into two sections so we had a little more privacy than expected. Bathroom was great as it had a separate tub and shower. The shower didn’t drain well though. There were no wash cloths provided which seems standard for Ireland. We stayed in 8 different hotels on this trip and only two provided wash cloths. No AC, which is apparently very common for Ireland as well. No top sheet for the bed and the comforter was thick which I assume is comfortable in the cooler months. The windows did open so we were able to get a little fresh air. The room was quiet considering the location and open windows. They did provide an oscillating fan upon request. Parking was free. Breakfast was decent. They had BINGO going on in the conference area but seemed more like a dance party as there was a DJ and everyone seemed to be having a great time. You must go to Nuts Corner if you’re looking for a local pub and a great time!! Overall extremely satisfied with this hotel.

We really enjoyed Athlone and the hotel is located right on the water. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Parking was a bit crowded when we arrived on Saturday but was better on Sunday. The service in the hotel restaurant needs improvement. Lots of really nice workers but disorganization was evident. The room was fine, but needs some details fixed like wires hanging out of wall.

Arrived in and loved the family room. Fresh off the plane and exhausted. They were very nice an accommodating. The weather was hot and the only downside was the lack of ac. A great stay instead of Dublin

Close to Athlone city centre

We stayed as a family. Small kids and booked as we often stay in Radisson hotels and this was going to be what we hoped a better experience. Young girl on reception very friendly and nice. Got to room. 509 on 5th floor to extreme heat. Ate at hotel. Food nice. All radiators turned off. We nesrly smothered with the hest during the night. On my second call to reception a porter cane with 1 fan I had requested 2. It was unbearable. Dripping n sweat. 3 skylights opened 1 inch only. Nobody slept. Bathroom side on bath like an old piece of ply timber on it. Breakfast ok. Exterior of hotel in desperate need of painting. Although hotel looks out on river, we had a room looking at roofs and traffic lights. Mentioned all above at check out. Nothing happened. Wasted my reward night balanc le towards this hotel. Dearest hotel in town. I could have booked cheaper with safer facilities. Do not accept rooms of you have young babies or children. Hest unsafe.

Disappointed no free breakfast

Breakfast was amazing, lovely food and good choice. Few issues during the stay and the staff and management were unhelpful and blase. Room had water running down the wall and damp, teenagers told they couldn't use the leisure facilities as they were not 18, this wasn't stipulated the booking or on the website. Booked a family room with 2 King size beds, at check-in was told they don't offer those rooms! Evening meal was wrong and the waiter was not bothered, finally got offered a free pudding. Wouldn't book us a taxi at reception so ended up paying 16 euros for a 5 minutes journey. Not good for the price paid

Poor ventilation in the bedroom, too hot, windows hardly opened. Bathroom dirty, blocked shower, constant humming noise, unable to hear tv or sleep. Very disappointed.

You have to ask for your room to be cleaned. Even then no complementary water, coffee cups or sugar been replaced. Also there's no fridge in the room.

Staff in restaurant very busy,they tried their best to serve in a timely manner which was often impossible..

Public areas very well presented but room was in need of updating and looked neglected. Broken and badly filled tiles in bathroom and curtains hanging off, due to missing and broken fixings, so we were unable to close them properly to exclude light. Reported to reception next morning, but whilst someone had moved one hook, problem still persisted. Not a cheap hotel so expect better. Plus side was Athlone itself which had some good places to eat and drink and castle was worth a visit.

Nice Hotel

Wonderful, if too short, visit. The staff were outstandingly friendly and helpful. The location is superb with a lovely terrace area by the river. It is definitely somewhere to return to!

Fabulous Hotel. Staff were amazing, especially the staff looking after breakfast. So kind & friendly. Housekeeping were amazing too, very helpful. We will definitely be back.

This hotel was in a great spot- easy walking distance to everything! The staff was great. The restaurants in the hotel were excellent. There was a pool and gym available as well.

Property was amazing but no air conditioning, way too hot in May! Opening windows didn't help, front desk giving us a cheesy fan didn't help, I cant imagine in July. Everything else was on point! Thanks!

Great stay, nice clean room.

Stayed over 2 weeks. 5 times had to go down to reception (phone in the room not working) to ask to clean my room. On other occasions had to ask for water, coffee or sugar as they were not left by housekeeping staff. Some of the staff at reception are arrogant and not speaking good English. Tap water was off 1 day for long hours. Meaning no toilet, no shower, no coffee/ tea. Nothings been offered as an apology. Just extra bottled water late evening. Also the booking was paid in advance but they still managed to charge me second time for the room. Had Hotels.com help desk involved to get money back. Breakfast good, restaurant good, gym ok. It's ok standard for average hotel but not on this brand, where some nights cost over 200 euros.

Excellent location by the river and the new foot bridge. Big rooms in good condition. Hard to keep rooms cool though. Checking in was less smooth but overall good hotel

We were met at the Radisson by Giovanni and Joy (the Concierges) who were incredibly friendly and helpful (they had even upgraded us from a standard room to a Junior Suite without us asking... first time I have ever been upgraded ever). The view from the room was an incredible view of the River Shannon. Joy and Giovanni recommended some dishes on the menu for Dinner from the in house restaurant, and wow... the Food was delicious. We had the Fish and Chips, the Ice Cream, and the Lemon cake, all of it was amazing. We paid the extra to have the food delivered to our room as we are not social butterflies, and the hotel was SUPER busy, but the food came up quickly, and the presentation was fantastic. The next morning, we went for breakfast and the staff were super helpful. The Room was HUGE, seriously, and the bed was comfortable. The only let down from the whole trip was we had asked for some milk to be brought up to our room the next day, and it never came so we couldn't make our own teas and Coffees. The breakfast staff were super helpful too, though the food was more standard affair and didn't stand out as good or bad, and was totally eclipsed by the dinner the night before. Overall, highly recommend the Athlone Radisson Blu.
