Location and the resort

we had been here in the early days, some 42 years ago, and though the development has grown, as has the town, it still has a charm , and well-placed for facilities, including two good supermarkets within a short walk, and an hourly bus service. the villa was spacious and well equipped, with good views out to sea, and over one of the swimmimg pools

Lovely apartment with a great view from the balcony. Great location with sea view. Beach was 15-20 minute walk. Supermarket 5 minutes walk. We had everything we needed for our stay and would stay here again.

Mattresses on beds were harder than we are used to so a little uncomfortable for us but we appreciate that is down to personal preference and others may prefer the harder mattresses. Our main issue was a horrible sewage smell in the bathroom every time we used the shower. It wasn’t a huge issue for us, just unpleasant at times and we didn’t report it as we were only there for a few days. It seemed to be coming from the drain in the bathroom floor and disappeared after a short while. It wouldn’t put us off staying here again but we would report it and get it looked at next time.

I loved the location. It was quiet. I didn't like the first villa I was allocated as it was dark and had no view of the sea. When I mentioned this at reception I was immediately offered a selection of other villas. The customer service was amazing. The villa had a lovely sea view and even though I had booked a villa with 2 rooms I ended up with a villa with 3 rooms. The hosts were fantastic, nothing was a problem to solve.

I think it would be better to know which villa you are going to be allocated before you arrive.

El Capistrano is a beautiful village with exceptionally well arranged apartments, intimate pedestrian pathways, beautifully maintained shrubs and lawns, two pools and a restaurant and bar that serve good food. Our apartment was a small unit but perfect for our requirements, since we ate out as planned except for breakfast. There are two supermarkets within 5 mins walk and a couple of restaurants nearby. Burriana beach has a number of restaurants and bars about 20 mins walk away.

The village is about 30 mins walk from central Nerja, which may not suit everyone. Having stayed before, we knew this. There is a local "town bus" that links the village with the centre and Burriana beach. The service is hourly, except during siesta, and operates a flat 1 euro fare.

Staff were helpful and informative

Location is well out of town and uphill all the way.. property is tired, furniture doesn't match, garden furniture old and unsteady. Toilet needs repair.

We know the area well so the location was perfect for us. The villa surpassed our expectations in terms of size and facilities. The view is incredible. As we were 5 adults sharing the layout we had with a separate downstairs space was great.

If I was being picky I would say that the bottom smaller apartment could do with a refresh but everything else was perfect.

Villa was really nice, it was well laid out and comfortable and the shared pool with just a few other properties was really quiet.

You need a car for the location which isn’t a problem if you are prepared.

The swimming pool was lovely

The location was bad as with the 36 degree heat there was no easy access to the supermarket and it was all up hill.

We were running late and the staff went over and above to meet us in the early hours of the morning with keys. We didnt know which property we would get and pleasantly surprised to get a lower apartment with direct access to private pool :)

If anything furniture could be updated however kinda added to the spanish feel of the property and considering most time spent outdoors so this is very minor point to consider. Property had all equipment required to cook. Washing machine was fantastic. Aircon perfect and outdoors table, chairs and sun loungers - perfect.

The pools were large clean and not crowded , the restaurant and bar in the complex were nice with good food. The grounds were very well maintained and looked splendid with many beautiful plants.

The villa i rented while clean was very dated the kitchen especially needed updating also no aircon in the bedrooms making sleep very difficult in July. Friends rented a lovely villa in the same complex that had recently been refurbished and it was lovely.

The staff were extremely friendly & helpful. The villa was extremely spacious & the pools were a great size.

The villa could have been a bit cleaner

Lovely place to stay. We arrived well before check-in time but were able to get into our apartment straight away. The apartment was spacious and had everything needed, balcony was huge with a great view towards the sea. There are several pools on site, and the one closest to us that was more peaceful than the main one with the bar was lovely. Bit of a walk into town, downhill all the way, but bit of a hill coming back. Buses run once an hour though, so not a problem. Staff at reception were very helpful and helped us book a trip to Granada and our taxi back to the airport. Would definitely stay again.

The property was spacious with brilliant facilities and perfect for a family. Great swimming pool facilities, bar and restaurant on site. The property was within close proximity to the beach, central Nerja and local amenities such as supermarkets and petrol stations with easy access to neighbouring towns.

Although the property was clean throughout on arrival, the main bathroom could have been cleaned to a higher standard. Some basic cleaning equipment such as a floor brush could have been provided so guests are able to clean throughout their stay

The views and location. Also all people servicing the development were really friendly and helpful.

We had a very pleasant stay. The only thing we would possibly recommend is to check & maintain the ventilation system within apartment more regularly. It seems a bit dated.
