Alles was zeer mooi en nieuw

Volgens mijn boeking zou ik een bad hebben plus airconditioning… het was die dag 42 graden… en geen van beiden waren daar… Er was wel een airco, maar geen afstandsbediening, wat ik ook gelijk had doorgegeven, maar ze snapte het niet… Het andere wat echt een aantekening waard is, dat bij aankomst na een hele berg met instructies te hebben gekregen, alles zonder host plaats zou vinden. Het begon dat ik daar arriveerde in het donker en niets was daar verlicht en ook voor de taxichauffeur was het moeilijk te vinden, omdat er geen gevelplaat aanwezig was. De bedoeling was dat ik een cijferslot zou moeten hanteren om de afstandsbediening van de garage te krijgen zodat ik binnen kon komen. Dit cijferslotkastje bleek niet bij de voordeur, maar bij de garagedeur te zijn wat ik eindelijk vond. Maar vanwege de donkerte daar, kon ik amper zien welke cijfers ik gebruikte, dus duurde het een hele tijd eer ik bezweet en wel dat kastje open kreeg… De afstandsbediening voor de garagedeur werkte ook amper, klikje voor klikje en nog heel veel klikjes verder had ik hem voldoende open om er onderdoor te kunnen kruipen, om deze daarna weer klikje voor klikje te kunnen sluiten… Fijn, een hele mooie lift, maar weer met onduidelijke instructies. Er stond dat het pasje gezamenlijk gebruikt moest worden, maar waar moest ik dan mijn kamerdeur mee openen? Ik stond voor mijn deur, inmiddels helemaal kapot van de lange reis, het lezen van al die onduidelijke instructies en voor een gesloten deur, wat nu? Moest ik dan toch dat pasje gebruiken? Ik had nog een andere code gekregen, maar hoe moest ik die dan gebruiken? Het zweet gutste van mijn lijf… Dus ik weet dat pasje uit de lift gehaald om deze ergens bij de deur te swipen en hoppa, daar kwamen verlichte cijfers tevoorschijn! Niet dat ik dat pasje ervoor nodig had gehad achteraf gezien.. dus ik dat gezamenlijke (?) pasje weer in de lift geplaatst. Bij binnenkomst echt een prachtige kamer met leuke inrichting en alles erg schoon!

Owner of the property was extremely friendly and responsive on WhatsApp and proactively reached out to me to give me details of how to check in, which was very useful. The place is approximately 15-20 mins by car to the International Airport so it was very convenient to us. Traffic was quite heavy so make sure you book a Grab in plenty of time if you need to get a flight. This place was fine for one nights stay and we found cheap food close by, which was just a short walking distance away.

There were a couple of things I think can be improved and I have already mentioned these privately to the owner and he's promised to review and make changes. I think its important to mention these as this place has limited reviews (at the time of writing) so think its important for other travellers to be aware. Be mindful that whilst the address of the property is correct, it doesn't tally/match up with Google Maps! We were walking around in the dark with big suitcases for a while trying to find it so it also needs a sign outside to say it is 'Palas House'. Use the pictures/video the owner sends to find the property. Secondly, the air con unit needed a service as it didn't get cold but thankfully we did have a fan so we managed to sleep okay. There is a clear screen in the bathroom/toilet area (which did have a proper door) but only a light curtain for privacy. This is fine if you are travelling on your own or if you've been with your partner for many years! Ha! Thankfully I have so it didn't matter to much for us but need to point this out as not everyone will be happy or comfortable with this set up. Please also remember to switch on the hot water in the bathroom - we didn't until it was too late as didn't realise we needed to so had cold showers!
