Truly one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Beautiful grounds, the staff was top tier. Every little detail was thought of. They really made you feel welcomed and taken care of. Can't wait to return.

The Reid is fabulous - it would get a five star except that the “shower” in our room was in an extremely slippery bathtub with no rubber mat. Almost fell several times.

Iconic stay at this beautiful resort. The staff and food were magnificent. Saddest part was leaving. Already planning another trip! Next time it will be longer and with family.

The hotel is charming, has a great location with a marvelous view. The room was very small and the bathroom dated with a tiny and noisy bathtub. The old building has a beautiful architecture (the other is very ugly). Gardens were well kept. The tea service is a good experience but could be better, as well as breakfast. We enjoyed our stay!

A wonderful property. Elegant and luxurious. Full of the charm of an older era but with every modern convenience and comfort of a true 5 star hotel of today. The management and staff were outstanding . Beautiful setting overlooking Funchal and the sea, surrounded by very pretty gardens. A perfect holiday

Attention to detail is incredible and there were so many unexpected lovely touches - welcome cakes and drinks in the room, small gifts with the evening turndown service, water bottles at the front door to take when going out for the day to name but a few.
The hotel building is amazing both inside and out, there are so many places to explore, the gardens are a must - we found our perfect shaded spot, away from the pools on our last day!
The views from the terrace are spectacular and combined with Afternoon Tea it's an unforgettable experience!

An amazing “classic” hotel perched on a cliff overlooking Atlantic Ocean. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful in any way possible. Rooms are large and the views are amazing. Will definitely come back.
