The staff were friendly and the rooms clean and comfortable. The parking is not the best. Very tight spaces and limited, especially when there is a function on. We couldnt hear any noise from the function room or the pub when we stayed which is a bonus. Food at the bar / restaurant
was really good. Overall a pleasant stay.

Good location and friendly staff, but we were glad we only stopped for one night! It didn’t feel particularly clean. There was a knotted collection of hair on one of our pillows, the room had a really odd odour, and with the room on the first floor facing out onto the main road / pavement there wasn’t much privacy. Room 6 could definitely do with a net curtain as well as the main curtains. We had the window open to keep the room cool but with the breeze blowing the curtains, it did feel like there was a lack of privacy, and felt a bit exposed to the street / main road.
We chose this hotel as it was the cheapest, decent looking place in the area, but we’d have been better off paying £20 or so more for one of the other hotels unfortunately.

The only short coming was that there wasn’t a short hand-railing leading to rooms #1-3. Otherwise it was great. I love the ambiance.

Very nice place to stay- needed somewhere as visiting elderly relative in care home. Very clean room and bathroom, great facilities and great breakfast. Recommended

There is no lift to upper floor rooms. The main access is via a steep spiral staircase that can present a hazzard for the elderly and infirm with luggage to carry.

Really nice hotel, lovely staff in a beautiful town. However i think if you arrive 90 mins before check in and your room is ready £20 is a tad steep. So after returning from day out manager had to leave busy bar to help with luggage which was in his office. Surely if she had just given me the available room, this could have been avoided. I would have paid £10 like Travelodge up the road. Never £20.

Superior room was far from. Floor out of level despite age. Towel rad in bathroom didnt work & freezing. Didn't get fixed & lied to by Manager twice about handyman coming to fix it.Lunch was poor. Dried up mash & soggy broccoli

Has a great experience at the White heart from start to finish. Friendly welcome and check in was quick and easy. Rooms are spacious, clean and well equipt.
Shower was excellent.
The Restaurant/bar area was busy which is always a good sign. The food was really good and piping hot on arrival which didn't take long at all.

I’ve stayed here a couple of times whilst out with friends in Braintree. If possible ask for a room in the main building as these have more character.

The room I stayed in was large and comfortable but a bit chilly. There was a small electric heater supplied which worked ok. Good value for what I had.

As always this Hotel always comes through love staying here on my Trips to England close to town and the staff are amazing from morning Breakfast to drinks in the bar at night absolutely amazing looking forward to my next trip home and a couple of nights in the White Heart Hotel
