Beautiful home! Layout is unusual in that you have to walk through 1 bedroom to get to the next. But, there are plenty of places to sleep. Robbin was a.great host. Backyard is great for roasting marshmallows, playing games, etc. Our family had a wonderful stay!

We stayed in this home for a few days mid-August to explore Acadia with our kids and dog. The location is beautiful - a quiet neighborhood right by the water. It was perfect for morning walks, and removed enough from the busy parts of the park but still accessible. The house was well stocked with linens, towels and kitchen essentials. It is so cozy and restored to perfection with beautiful taste and attention to detail. Robbin was a delight. She was attentive and incredibly helpful with recommendations in the area. I only wish we could have stayed longer! We can't wait to visit again!

We greatly enjoyed our stay in the Rose Cottage in Bernard! Robbin was an excellent host, extremely communicative and willing to assist with any needs/recommendations. We made our reservation before the home was furnished, but Robbin had that completed and filled the home with furniture and beds. I would note that the bedrooms are what I would refer to as "semi-private". Access to the rooms was not through a hallway, rather there were pocket doors separating the various sleeping areas. Since I hadn't seen the layout in pictures, I didn't really anticipate that, however, it didn't really bother us. I would also like to mention that the bathrooms were a bit on the smaller side, but again, with the older/historic home, I did expect that. The kitchen and outdoor space were very welcoming and refreshing. We did not find ourselves using the kitchen as much as we normally do since there were so many great dining options! We visited Thurston's Lobster Pound twice during our short stay. The bar overlooking the bay and the freshest lobster were oh so enjoyable! We also have a favorite spot in Bar Harbor called Side Street Cafe! Check them both out. Also, if you plan to dine at Thurston's, make sure you check their schedule as they were closed Sunday & Monday during our stay. Luckily, we saw their schedule and planned accordingly. Their gift shop just a few houses down, Slack Tide Shop, was a favorite as well! We enjoyed walking down to shop there. Nothing beats a Maine summer!

This lovely home is a great location for easy access to all of Acadia National Park hikes and adventures. The home is cozy and welcoming beckoning for you to come sit in a comfy chair to read or sit out on the back lawn and listen to the birds or stare up at the heavens. Our family of 6 including my husband and I and our adult children, including newlyweds, enjoyed relaxing together in the living room and sharing meals together around the old farm table. The kitchen was fully stocked and beautifully decorated including the blue and white dishes! The bedrooms are country comfy. Please note the lay out of the 4 upstairs bedrooms. The rooms are all connected by doors, meaning you have to walk through other bedrooms to get to the master bathroom or the stairs. The master bedroom does have an outdoor spiral staircase that we used. The outdoor space is great for grilling and resting. We enjoyed the firepit one evening and the amazing starlit night and the milky way! Robbin was great to work with and attentive. Favorite lobster roll was found nearby at Charlotte's Legendary Lobster. Best Maine Wild Blueberry Pie was found at pie stand on the side of the road on the way to Bass Harbor Light Head and also snickerdoodles. We got jam from the cookies and pie stand near Archie's. Hikes: Acadia Mountain, Beech Cliff Trail, and Great Head Trail. The Seawall picnic area and beach was my favorite quiet spot to read and look at the sea, recommended by Robbin!

Robbin was a wonderful host. We came with 10 people spanning 3 generations and had a really comfortable stay. The kids loved the fire pit for s'mores. The kitchen was the bright and well-stocked center of our stay. Keeping some toys and books in the house made the kids happy. It's clear Robbin has spent time decorating the house and the location in proximity to Acadia was a key part of our decision in selecting this property as a base for our daily outings.

The home was very nice. I would stay here again. My wife enjoyed the detailed attention to authentic New England decor. Very clean. There’s so much to do in Acadia, I wish we could have spent more time at the property enjoying the house and the comfortable outdoor space. Definitely recommend.

The house itself is very cute, though the upstairs layout is a bit odd. The keyless locks weren't programmed correctly, so we couldn't lock the house up when we left for the day to explore. According to VRBO, the checkin time was 4 pm. Upon our arrival at 4:30, the host and her family were occupying the house. She made us feel very unwelcome, and told us we should have told her what time we were planning to arrive because that's what considerate guests do. It took her an hour to pack up and get out of the house. She said she would refund the cleaning fee for the inconvenience. She has not done so, and it has been one month since our departure. ibedshould she told us that weshoul
