My partner and I from San Diego stayed here and loved the property. It was very tastefully decorated and had all the kitchen items needed to feel right at home. The bed was comfortable with a view of the Loire river. I see the swans out there. The house is better than the pictures portray. Highly recommended. Merci beaucoup Elisabeth

We came from San Diego and loved this house. It was only two of us and it fit just right . Spacious with lots of room for privacy. We came from the U.S. and stayed for 12 days while visiting our daughter, who lives in Blois in centre ville, the center of the old town by the castle. It could not be more charming, and the same is true of this rental and its owner Elisabeth. Behind a stone wall and wooden door on one of old town's narrow stone streets, we found a beautifully renovated and furnished home with a large garden patio. It's in walking distance of everything in centre ville, and American guests be advised: you will be walking a lot, and up and down lots of steps. We had a rental car for exploring the Loire Valley that could be parked on our street when there was room. If not, the garage was down the street and around the corner. But town is made for walking, so a car is not an easy way to get around town.. Our daughter speaks French, which was very helpful as was Google translate. Despite some language barriers during the rental process, Elisabeth was always available and helpful, and we thank her for sharing her lovely home on VRBO.

Beautifully decorated place. The highlight is the private, spacious terrace with a nice garden. Location is great, perfect base for daily excursions by bike visiting Chambord, Cheverny, Amboise, etc. The host is very nice and helpful. A place to definitely come back.

This house is the perfect base for exploring the Blois area. The cycle route network is fabulous. The property is beautiful and luxurious and was spotlessly clean on arrival. The courtyard is spacious and enchanting with ample seating. We took cooling fans in light of previous reviews and considered them essential during our stay. Our son appreciated his separate wing of the house...and so did we! A big Thank You to Elisabeth for her hospitality and for a wonderful holiday.

Tucked away up a narrow street behind an austere door is this beautiful home. Perfect in good weather when you can live in the private, not overlooked, courtyard. Unique view of the Bastille fireworks from the 1st floor! Historic walk into centre of Blois from little street immediately below.

We had an excellent week in this beautiful house. Everything is top quality and the house was very well equipped throughout. The secluded courtyard is a great spot to catch the sun across all of the day. Situated about a 5 minute walk into the heart of Blois it is also a great spot for going out for food and/or drink. The location is also excellent for getting to the beautiful chateaux of the region, with several within only a 20 minute drive. Elisabeth is a very welcoming host and was happy to make recommendations of places to eat and visit. All-in-all an excellent, relaxing break in a beautiful spot.

This is a charming property perfectly situated in the centre of beautiful Blois. The interior is of the highest quality and the sunny courtyard a beautiful and relaxing place to while away a few a hours after sampling the joys of the Loire. We would particularly recommend the Son et lumiere at the chateau and the magnificent gardens at Chaumont. The Musee de la Magie was strangely compelling. If you want to push the boat out eat at the Orangerie restaurant near the chateau in Blois. The house itself is really conveniently situated and at walking distance from everything you would wish to see. It is very well equipped and the fittings and linens of high quality. The layout of the bedrooms are perfect for two couples travelling together as they afford great privacy. Our thanks go to Elisabeth who clearly has put much love into this home and was generous in the way in which she shared it with us. We would recommend this property unreservedly.

Blois is a beautiful town and staying here was a splendid way to experience the city. With the park a short walk away and restaurants and groceries not too far we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Twice we cooked at home and ate in the courtyard. Our son loved his room up on the third floor. Everywhere you look in this apartment there is something interesting and beautiful. We visited several Châteaus while in the area. Drank fabulous wines and strolled around a lot of the town. Elizabeth was very kind and met us there when we arrived to show us around and even gave us a ride to the store because it was closing very soon. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend this apartment.

We loved the home! It was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. I will add that the hill going to and from the garage is quite steep. Some people with health issues may find this problematic. We okay with it.

A charming and unusual property with plenty of separate Space for two couples. Exceptionally well stocked and maintained.

Blois is an attractive, perhaps under appreciated, town, centrally located in the Loire valley region, an easy train ride from Paris. It is large enough to have many of the ammenities visitors want, such as good restaurants, cafes and shops, yet small enough to walk everywhere and drive out of on day trips with ease. Some of the most notable chateaux, such as Chambord and Cheverny are barely half an hours drive away, and others are not too much further. Elisabeth Gyselinck's house, where we stayed, contributed significantly to the enjoyment of our visit. Discreetly hidden behind a door in an imposing stone wall on a quiet street, the interior is charming and practical. Made up of two separate buildings, neatly joined together by a sunny, pleasant alcove, the house is elegantly furnished, the bedrooms comfortable and the bathrooms well equipped. All of this looking out on a fine, cobbled courtyard and garden in which to enjoy the local wine and cheese in the late afternoon after touring the sites of the town and countryside. The available parking with the house is very convenient. Just a ten minute walk from the house is the old centre of Blois with an excellent fromagerie, wine shop, various boulangeries and your choice of restaurants, from modest to haut cuisine. For more comprehensive food shopping, there is a Carrefour less than a ten minute drive away. And do not miss the Chateau overlooking the town, an interesting melange of architectural styles and imbued with historical drama. Altogether, a memorable and enjoyable stay. John Stewart

Perfect property for our stay in Blois. Set on a quiet side street the front door opens into a beautifully presented and spotlessly clean home. The bedrooms both which are doubles , have lovely comfortable beds with crisp cotton bed linen and both have an ensuite , which was perfect as we were two couples sharing the house , the bedrooms are on opposite sides of the property with separate stairs to each of the rooms . As stated in other reviews the court yard garden is charming and a lovely spot to enjoy a drink at the end of a busy day touring the many lovely places to visit in this area. The private parking in a secure garage at the end of the road was an added bonus as parking can be hard to find in the town . Elisabeth arrived with the keys at the time we had arranged on arrival and was very helpful explaining where things were and what we could use in the house . She arrived promptly when we were departing to return the security deposit . A lovely house in a lovely part of France . I would not hesitate in recommending to couples looking for a place to stay in this region.

My husband and I stayed in this charming house with our 18 year old daughter for a week in July, 2017. The house is bright and airy and beautifully furnished; the fairly recent refurbishment has been carried out with many great features mixing old with new. The house is very comfortable, has everything you will need and it is spotlessly clean. The two en-suite bedrooms of this self contained house are divided into two separate buildings connected by a conservatory, so is perfect for two couples or those with older children (the wifi is strong enough for Netflix and there is a PlayStation in one bedroom). The courtyard is the crowning glory, not overlooked in anyway and the plants and features make it the perfect place for outdoor dining and relaxing. The house is within walking distance of everything in Blois, we put the car into the secure garage and left it there for days, walking and cycling instead (hire Bikes from the guy at the top of the road in the Jardin de l'Évêché ). Blois is ideal for exploring - cycling is very safe with lots of routes and cycle paths and many Châteaux are within half an hours drive. Great holiday and look forward to returning.

Nice to look at and spacious, but not cosy for a family. The location is good for Blois. The coffee table is so fragile we were scared to go near it. Bedrooms stuffy, need a ceiling fan. There is no work surface in the kitchen for food prep. Host is friendly. Overall good but been to better in past.

The unimpressive outside door opens up to a beautiful apartment that spreads in many directions, and a fabulous totally private garden lined with flowering shrubs. The kitchen has everything you could desire, and it was delightful to eat breakfast in the garden, and have a glass of wine there every evening. We had a hot spell in July and fans would have been helpful. Beautifully decorated and felt like a real home. Merci, Elizabeth!

The property is conveniently located on a small street within walking distance of the centre ville, and parking is provided in a nearby garage. The apartment has good natural light and a lovely enclosed garden. The two bedrooms provide space for up to two couples, however one bedroom is located on the third floor. We did not use it. The bathrooms are modern, and the double bed is comfortable. It was nice to have a washer and dryer, too. We enjoyed our stay at this property in Blois.

Immaculately-presented house less than five minutes walk into the centre of Blois. Comfortable beds, excellent outdoor space, free lock-up garage for cars 75 yards away, rooms nicely separated from each other with separate bathrooms and a very friendly host. If we were in the area we would definitely stay here again.

The home was centrally located close to the Loire and within a few minutes walk of shopping and restaurants. The home was spacious with a beautiful courtyard in the back. We totally recommend this home for your stay in Blois.

The owner has impeccable taste. Very well decorated and very clean. The only negative was that the weather was quite warm and there is no air conditioning. Bedrooms upstairs and very warm. Also seating area in house is small. Not a problem if only two people. The highlight of the home was the courtyard. It has rose bushes and climbing vines to enjoy and a big table with a canape to protect you from the sun. We ate all of our breakfasts out there. Very peaceful.

We arrived at this beautifully appointed property for our five night stay in Blois. Our communication with Elisabeth prior to arrival was excellent and upon arrival she spent time with us to discuss where we were in relation to amenities and also what might be of interest to us. The location is excellent - just a short walk into the centre of town. The separation of bedrooms and ensuites was a real plus and the generous indoor and outdoor area made for a very memorable stay.
