we loved everything about this property and only wish we had more time to spend in this beautiful location. The B&B is well operated by the beautiful and helpful Elena and the charming Simone who is good at everything and helped collect our luggage in his cute vehicle. He also prepared a sumptuous and generous breakfast which we enjoyed on the terrace overlooking breathtaking views of the local area. The B& B also contains a massage spa which unfortunately we did not get to use but it looked great. We cannot recommend this venue and the region enough. You should stay in this beautiful and elegant palazzo!
we liked everything and everyone

Very helpful staff. Very good location. Very comfortable room and good facilities. Loved trying different local foods for breakfast!
No kettle or mugs for boiling water to drink in the evenings!

Good location in the old town. Good choose for breakfast. Owner helpful booking taxi to the bus station when we left.
The coffee at breakfast was very strong but the owner kindly made a more acceptable Americano.

Had excellent communication and advice from the host before we arrived. We drove to Ragusa and since the B&B is in Ragusa Ibla (where you want to stay) there really isn't any place to park. The host gave us two suggestions as to where to park just on the edge of Ragusa Ibla. Even though it is walkable from there to the B&B, the host promptly picked us and our luggage up in his car and drove us to the B&B; much, much easier. Didn't need our car at all during our stay. You can explore all of Ragusa, both Ragusa Ibla and Ragusa Superiore, by walking, which you should do, or you can take the Ragusa Baroque Train, really a small tram, on wheels, that travels a route through town to see the sights. Had a large, lovely room with a more than adequate private bath and a small balcony with chairs that gave an excellent feel for being in Ragusa. Everything was clean and fresh. The host was outstanding in making you feel at home and at ease, and made the stay even more enjoyable. He was most helpful in providing suggestions/directions for what to visit, when to visit and where to eat. They provide a wonderful, filling breakfast typical of the region with several homemade items. This place is a gem.
Not a dislike, but FYI you do have to walk up/down stairs within the house/palazzo to get to the B&B.

Everything! Great hosts, fascinating house, airy & calming bedroom with a private terrace for evening drinks, delicious breakfast served on the top floor terrace or dining room looking over to Ragusa Superiore. 5 mins walk from parking and 5 mins walk to the main square. It was a total delight to stay here. Don't hesitate to book. Thank you Simone & Elena.

The most charming place ever, the rooms were out of a fairytale and I’ve never had better breakfast anywhere else. Exceptional!

Location ( although stairs were trying!)
Collection from car park.
Breakfast was rather piecemeal

Lovely old house in a convenient location in Ragusa Ibla.
Simon and Elena are wonderful and generous hosts and you would find it hard to get better service anywhere. They were extremely helpful in organising taxis and made recommendations for some very good local restaurants.
Breakfast is a gourmet meal of local delicacies.
Highly recommended.

Simone was the perfect, kind, helpful, hardworking host. When we became lost on arrival in the narrow, steep, tangle of streets in Old Ragusa, he found us and picked us up. He provided a map of the area and referred us to an excellent restaurant. The varied breakfast, featuring home-grown fruit and jams and cakes made by his wife, was a joy. We also appreciated the pleasant, quiet terrace with a wonderful view, used for breakfast, and available at any time to guests. It was a perfect place to relax during the afternoon "siesta."
No drawbacks relating to Giardino di Pietra itself. (Only, we wouldn't try to drive a car to that location again!)

really nice location, room, terrasse and very good breakfast

The terrace for breakfast was very nice, but the breakfast was confusing, presented in a badly tempered way and frankly mediocre. There were a lot of carbs, shop bought cake and biscuits, but when I asked for some yogurt and fruit the owner was tremendously surly and brought it reluctantly. He wanted us to choose from his pre-arranged 'salty' or 'sweet' breakfast - which meant for savoury - a little bit of chopped up omelette and cheese and 5 olives or to select the sweet cake and biscuits which included a couple of teaspoons of two homemade preserves. It was breakfast calculated for maximum impact for minimum budget.
Fawlty Towers without being funny. A B&B run by an unpleasant, extraordinarily rude host. In 35 years I have not encountered someone so temperamentally unsuited to hospitality. Someone prepared to leave us (my mother is 84 years old and quite frail) waiting for 20+ minutes in reception after travelling for 10 hours, barking orders for her to wait. I'd say he panicked and simply didn't know how to deal with two sets of guests arriving at the same time and had made no provision despite asking and receiving exact times of arrival. the other person was also left hanging while the owner disappeared to sort out parking.
We didn't complain verbally, but I was silently disapproving and he attacked me for being disrespectful. We were booked in for 3 (Long and uncomfortable .. in terms of atmosphere .. nights). His wife, most likely in his behalf... as he clearly had ego and anger management issues... asked us to find somewhere else to stay (!) without paying for the first night as they sensed we were unhappy....although we had not said so. However, too right, but I was not about to find somewhere else for us on a Friday night. We were on a much looked forward to break, not about to spend the holiday finding alternative accommodation. We said we would stay, but they made it very uncomfortable for us subsequently.
The wife was better than the husband in this team, but she tried excused her husband's incompetence. When I told her she was making things worse and should simply apologise and move on, she didn't.
Moreover the room was not the one I booked and we was not alone in this respect. Another couple spoke to us at breakfast and reported they were in a basement with no windows!
the husband made no attempt to cover his hostility at breakfast and when I came to pay he was insulting. Moreover he insisted in charged city tax for my mother which was not applicable... and he did it aggressively.
If you want to enjoy your holiday, don;t stay here.

Breakfast was superb. Dining area was amazing, overlooking the old city. Staff was very polite and helpful with parking and transfer from parking space to the property. Room was very clean and spacious. The whole property has an old-time elegance to it. Very nice, and the location was fantastically convenient to explore the ancient city by foot.
Nothing. Everything was perfect!

The room was fine and, above all, the terrace for breakfast, really nice!

Amazing old house in fantastic location. Room is huge and even has a small terrace.
The doors are still from back when the house was last renovated which is probably a hundred years ago and they’re screeching and hard to open and close. Heard them all night and could barely sleep.

When you stay at B&B Giardino Di Petra it’s impossible not to fall in love with Ragusa. Our stay was nothing but magical. B&B is in a perfect location in the Center, bed is super comfortable, the views make you think you are in a movie. We comfortably visited other towns nearby from this location: Modica, Scicly, others. B&B Giardino Di Pietra is definitely the place to stay while you are exploring Val Di Noto

Simone was extremely welcoming and helpful. He helped us find parking on our first day and also pointed out all landmarks of interest on a map.
Breakfast was exquisite. Served on their lovely terrace with a choice or mix of sweet/savoury items.
Room was huge with all the needed facilities. Views of Ragusa Ibla were visible from our two balconies. Area very peaceful and quiet.
The only disadvantage was the lack of a lift. Although this was communicated beforehand and Simone was ready to help us with our luggage up the stairs .
Overall, a very trivial thing. A lift would ruin the aesthetic of the building anyway. :)

Location is perfect: close to everything but very quiet. Breakfast is really nice with home made cakes, jams, and even granita from their own lemons!! The rooms are super large and beautifully decorated. The hosts are super helpful and kind.
The air conditioning was not super effective.

We had a good stay in this lovely old building. Our large room had a great ceiling, of all things, and was well furnished. There are only three rooms opening onto the breakfast room with its large terrace area, having views over the “newer” upper town. Breakfast was good quality. The owners were always available, either in the building or via WhatsApp. They looked after us very well.
Tip - if driving, use the free parking a few minutes walk away. The owner ferried us and our luggage in a 1952 Fiat 500 - quite a taxi! I wouldn’t attempt to drive to the accommodation in anything larger.
The location was ideal, quiet yet an easy walk around the old town.

The best place we've visited on Sicily! Amazing renaissance style room, but renovated, clean with more functional and new school bathroom. Super nice host gave us great tips what to see and where to eat in the city. Absolutely outstanding breakfast with a story to every ingredient.
We spent there only one night.
