When booking had some confusion on rooms, all sorted once there

On April 21, we arrived at our hotel. In Regina. And upon arrival, we had issues from the start. I didn't book my room with a credit card, just my visa debit card. So we couldn't get our room. I had to call my husband to use his credit card to get our rooms. That was fine. They took $80.00 off his credit card. So we thought that it was ok. But to find out that they took 800.00 from my debit card for security deposit. I thought that since we provided a credit card they wouldn't take any funds from my account. But they did. Now, when we checked out, I assumed that they would be able to give me back my $800.00. But no. They wouldn't put that money back on my card. And told me that I have to wait 3 to 5 business days to get back my deposit. And still to this date. April 27th. I still have not received my money back. I am not a wealthy person, and to wait for such a large amount of money is unnecessary. I have been to many hotels and never even had this experience. And I also checked out my receipts from them. And there is no invoice for the amount of the security deposit. Just on my bank statement. So, to me, that's theft. I hope no one has to go through this experience as I did. And I will never be staying at this place again. And still no refund of deposit on both cards.

Facility was fantastic.

When it was time to check out. They took a deposit twice. $400.00 for each night we stayed. Then, when I checked out . They would not reimburse my deposit when I left. I have to wait a few days before I can get back my deposit. Very unpleasant experience. Especially when I expect to get my money back as soon as I check out, so now I have to wait a few days to get my money. We produced a credit card for our stay. And I thought they would not take the $800.00. But they did. I really needed that deposit. But nope. It is a beautiful place. Fantastic place to stay. But I won't be returning in the near future.

The breakfast was the bright spot. Good selection and quality. The restaurant is also very good. The facility is clean overall.

For a higher end hotel, the maid service was nonexistent. Sure, I might only have stayed 2 nights, but is it hotel policy not even to make the bed or check the towels? Also, I wasn't told on check-in that there would be an additional charge for "incidentals" and when I asked about this at checkout, the staff member said I would be reimbursed "in a week or so, depending on your card provider". The hotel is by a busy street and there is always traffic noise. The rooms are ok for soundproofing unless someone is talking on their phone right beside the wall, as they would if lying in bed

A few busses of hockey teams checked in which made the buffet breakfast a bit of a zoo. While the buffet was good, it's certainly not big enough to accommodate the amount of people trying to get food. If they have large bookings they should set up a seperate buffet in a conference roomto accommodate. I also noticed alot of plastic being used for glasses, forks knives etc.

The room was nice, clean and the shower was nice.

The hockey teams who allowed their kids to run in hallways and doors to slam at all hours of the night.

The underground parking is not available. Except for the first time I stayed there, they offer offer valet parking to and from the shopping mall parking lot across the street.

Very clean, super shower, best continental breakfast in a long time. Pool was warm. Definitely will stay again.

Only complaint was no blackout curtains. Quite bright at night and see through.

The location is great and a good restaurant with room service. I appreciated the business centre as I had some work to do. The pool looked clean and nice but we didn’t use it.

The beds were not comfortable. We had a room facing the street and it was very loud all night. No sound dampening. Police, snow removal, construction all through the night. We are not light sleepers and it was very noisy.
