I booked 2 rooms a day in advance. It was critical we have the rooms because we were arriving late after a very long drive. I had email confirmation of the 2 rooms. When we arrived about 9:30 pm I was told only 1 room was shown to be reserved and there were no more rooms available even tho I showed him email confirmation for 2 rooms. And there were no rooms anywhere inMt Vernon. We spent at least 45 min checking around form another hotel. So we had no choice but to cram 6 adult size people who are not related to each other into one room. There were no extra cots and only one extra blanket in the whole hotel. Unbelievable!! It was an awful experience and front desk guy wasn’t sympathetic.And he didn’t offer us a discount for screwing up my reservation. We will not stay in Mt Vernon again and I will not stay at Fairfield hotel again.

The coffee was good.

Beds were uncomfortable, and breakfast was extremely limited. Also the pool had way too much chlorine.

Room was clean and smelled good. )

Sink barely drains. Hot water for shower is only a trickle. No deadbolt on door. Ants on the bed. Unreasonable and obnoxious morning checkout clerk.

Swimming pool

It just seemed cold. Boring. Lobby floor needed vacuumed. Looked the same in the morning. Lights were flickering in hall way-some burned out.
