My family reserved 2 rooms, tried to give us the room that had a leak or something in bathroom….. seemed like there were a lot so fans goin in rooms

I came this way for a funeral and was not familiar with the area. This hotel is very convenient to the HWY. I could and did easily walk next door a couple buildings away to a nice family restaurant. The lobby and breakfast area is very nice and my room was actually a suite and was beautiful with pretty antiques too. The desk was very helpful with directions to get me to IA in the morning.

The location.

We used a booking service and unknowingly double booked. Despite doing automatic early check in we were unaware of the double booking until we arrived. The person checking us in said she couldn't do anything about the double booking and referred us to the booking company. They sent us back to the hotel. She said she resolve it in the morning; in the morning she said she'd send a message to us (after we left); then informed us since we checked in later in the afternoon they couldn't resale the second booking (which they did) and if we let them know sooner they could have canceled the second booking. Since all was automated as far as booking and early check in we had no way of knowing about the error. We've stayed there before and we're satisfied. We won't be staying there again OR using the booking agency again. Automated systems are most to make travel and booking less complicated . . . Had we talked with a real person we would have known about the double booking. The error occurred when I attempted to book using my PayPal via my phone and lost the link twice. I then booked using my credit card and received confirmation. Nether the booking company OR the hotel were willing to be accountable for the error or resolve the issue (kept referring us to the other party . . . . back and forth). It was my birthday and we had other plans and I didn't want to argue with either and have it ruin my day. The biggest mistake is them trying to string me along with "we'll get back to you in the morning", and " "we'll send you a text". . . .especially when they re-booked the room later that night to someone else and made double the profit. Clearly they didn't have customer satisfaction in mind. They both lost any future bookings from us.
