$390 for one night and you don't even get a microwave. Tub area was old.

Excellent Location
Should provide room service

Location of SMV to Glacer NP
The location of our room in an out building looking at another property with very tight parking
9.0
liked the lodge and surroundings
The restaurant was ok. early in season and some help needing training
10.0
Amazing location, helpful staff, the cottage rooms are very well designed, and convenient for longer stays

The room was larger than expected! Great views in the Great bear lodge

WiFi didn't work well in West Motel rooms. Room was very small. We stayed for 5 nights and the smallness was annoying after a while. Constantly having to move things around to accomplish things.
6.0
The location was fantastic. The view from the room was fantastic! Everything was comfortable.
My main complaint is that there was no microwave in the room. With the remoteness of this location, I feel they should provide a small microwave for every room. We were there mid to late September, right before they close down for the season, so there was almost no selection left in the restaurant (and only one restaurant open). Not much of anything left to purchase in the grocery store except a few frozen items, however, there was no microwave in the room. There was a time limit for lunch and dinner at their only restaurant, so if you miss it out hiking and enjoying nature, you're eating granola bars and chips. So, just beware of this and/or make sure you get a room with a microwave or kitchenette.

Grab and go was efficient and good.
Rooms could be updated a little more and a little cleaner but overall good.
Screened sliding door didn't work but not a huge deal.
Painting of the lodge outside could be done soon. Touch up work would add a lot.
People were friendly and helpful. Food was good.

Room was small and outdated. Very dark, no views or natural light. Bed was uncomfortable. Shower was old and not very clean. Only 1 outlet.

Location, location, location
The restaurants on site would only allow dining in. No to go or patio dining. In a pandemic, traveling with unvaccinated children, this is unacceptable.

Carpet and desks were sticky. Loud music until 2 pm both nights. One set of stairs to access the 2.5 foot landing for the whole motel. More expensive than park rooms, despite being outside of the park with far less creature comforts

(3 night stay) The views were truly breath-taking. We happened to show up on their opening day since closing for the pandemic and given that information the entire resort exceeded our expectations. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The rooms are amazing and clean. We got lucky and switched to the cabin on our last night, I would highly recommend staying in the sun cabin if you are able to. The restaurants food/drink was exceptional.
I wish it was easier to book a room here because I love it so much but it's so popular.

Loved how clean it was and how we could hear the rushing creek from the balcony and see the mountains from our bed🙂
Parking was a little tight and hard to find at times

The bed was comfortable.
Everything else, was old and needed updates for the price. Very dark and road noise.

Waaaay overpriced

Only two electrical outlets available for use in charging phone & laptop, both were aside the sink/washbasin. The rest were probably hidden behind bed and room furniture inaccessible for use.
