Walking distance to downtown Clayton and the waterfront. The king room with sofa bed we had was very spacious, the bed was very comfortable. Housekeeping was very attentive everyday and also turn down service in the evening.
Room service items were not available even though it was 24 hours.

Beautiful hotel on the St. Lawrence River. Quaint little town with shops. Close to shopping in Watertown. Scenic walking olong the boardwalk.

The view out our large bedroom window was out of some picture book with the St. Lawrence River and the islands right there when you wake up. We visited two parks and hiked in both. Unfortunately, most of this area shuts down on Columbus Day so over half of the shops and restaurants were closed during the week with only some of them opening for the weekends. Ask the locals where to eat and most will probably recommend JK's Roadhouse in Redmond. Food was great and friendliness of the wait staff and cook was a bonus. Uncle Sam's Boat Tour to view all of the victorian-era millionaires' "summer mansions" and the newer mansions was a definite highlight!!
Wish we had known the main reasons for our going were going to be closed. Baldt Castle, Singer Castle and the Antique Boat Museum were all closed.

We've been before pre-covid and it's a lovely hotel in a lovely location. This is our first trip back in over three years and it's still lovely although it seems clear that staff shortages are affecting not only your hotel but many other restaurants and stores as well.
You staff that we chatted with were wonderful, so kind, polite and accommodating and we will be back.
We found a lot of areas where cleanliness could be improved and wear and tear to items such as towels and other items that are somewhat thread bear and could use replacement. A good deep clean, top to bottom of rooms would be nice although we realize with staff shortages this is difficult at this time but we're sure will improve.
