The innkeeper was exceptionaly friendly, but not too intrusive. The room was clean, breakfasts were tasty, especially the homemade bread! It was conveniently located.
The heat in the room was turned off prior to our arrival. Even though we asked that it be turned back on, it never worked. It was unseasonably cool and rainy for early June and we were freezing! Also, even though the room was clean and comfortable and the rates were competitive for other B&B's in the area, this felt more like a converted old motel than other B&B's I've stayed at in Taos. My friend who came with me, stated she would defintely stay here again. I would not..

The room was comfortable and the innkeeper was very pleasant and seemed like he really cares about his guests. Homemade breakfast was also very good.

it’s a hidden treasure with a funky, artistic vibe. My king room was delightful, bright and vibrantly decorated. Breakfast was simple yet elegant, a fire in the kiva fireplace and beautiful pottery.
I am mobility limited and the walkways were broken in places.

I traveled to Taos in October when cottonwoods and aspens were golden and the weather was crisp and gorgeous. Robert was a lovely host and the breakfasts were quite good, with quiches of various kinds and homemade breads (wonderful zuccini bread!). I really enjoyed the Native American furnishings in my room and some of the quirky, creative, decorating touches on the grounds--eg. painted flowers and figures on the adobe. Since the pool was closed for the season, I was able to take some time to write under the ancient cottonwoods on the property and relished the quiet at the time I was there.
I was surprised not to have some attention to safety bars or holds in the bathrooms. I thought those were required by law. I injured my knee on the trip and felt less stable, so really could have used one. Also, the steep grade of the usual exit from the property did scrape the bottom of my car--and it called for having to navigate around it. As a coffee addict, I would like to have had access to an early cup of coffee--either by in room coffee or being able to get coffee before breakfast was served at 8. There was a coffee shop within a quick drive, so I could avail myself of that.

Good location, only a mile and a half from the main part of Taos. Robert was very accommodating and friendly. He answered all our questions we had about the area and beyond! We left the Inn after a couple days and enjoyed a delicious breakfast that morning! Thank again Robert!

Nothing. Everything was from the 60s. Had to sleep with the bugs and spiders. Shower was terrible and hot water took for EVER to get hot!!!! Door stuck when opening it and had to slam it when shutting it. Do not stay here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were delighted with this Inn! Decorated, quaint, our host was amazing. The food yummy and excellent variety. The host knew the area so he could give us lots of options to go and see plus map and directions. This will not disappoint, from the outside to inside such personality and convenience an experience you do not want to miss!
Had problems finding the inn!

Lovely home made breakfast.

I'd be more than happy to return on my next visit to Taos.

Loved the location (just outside of town but an easy drive to the historic district). The Innkeeper was super nice & friendly. The breakfasts & coffee were good. The property has the traditional "Taos" charm in the decor. Everything was clean & the room (king bed) had plenty of space.
The bed & one of the chairs were a little soft, but acceptable. The rooms are a bit dated, that was part of the charm. Hot tub was out of service.

Breakfast was delicious and the presentation was professional as expected in a 4 star restaurant. And Robert started a fire in the Kiva fireplace just for us, to make the ambience even more lovely!
If we could only have stayed longer 😔

The owner/operators could not have been better hosts! We enjoyed their company, as they seemed to have enjoyed ours. We've stayed in Taos many times in the last 12 years, and our 4 days at Inn on the Rio were the best!

Loved the breakfast. Homemade bread, wonderful cassaroles. Very different than traditional breakfast buffets. Robert was wonderful. The hot tub was great and we met some wonderful people. Warm welcoming and very quiet.

Breakfast was good. A nice change from the motel chain breakfast with real crockery and cutlery.
The shower was a little pokey.

This old motor inn is adorable! It’s painted and decorated with such fun Southwestern style and whimsy.
The owners are kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. The rooms were not all occupied, so the guests were thoughtfully spaced out to allow for less noise and more privacy.
There is a small outdoor space with seating which is lovely, with large trees and beautiful flowers.
The bed was very uncomfortable. Other reviewers have mentioned this but I ignored them when booking. We stayed in 7 properties on our three-week trip, and the bed here was by far the worst.
No coffee pots or mini fridges in room and no access to coffee in the lobby before 8 am
Busy road with no sidewalks makes waking into town unsafe from this property, even though it’s really conveniently located.

Convenient location, hot tub, swimming pool(although closed for the season), delicious breakfast, friendly congenial host.
Room very dark and crowded for two with big suitcases. Very poor lighting in the room, very weak WiFi signal and most of the outlets too loose for charging electronics. Beds only marginally comfortable.

Comfortable accommodations in a good location with a very hospitable host. Great breakfast.
Pillows were a little hard. Could not easily walk to town.

Breakfast was minimal. Quiche with some fruit and toast and coffee as far as I can recall. Location is excellent..
The tarmac is in an awful shape and leaves needed to be blown

Liked that the location was a little out of the busy city. Very quaint.
Would be nice to have coffee pot in room.

The breakfasts were AMAZING!!
The location was close to downtown.
The room was cutely decorated.
There were several live & dead bugs/spiders on the carpet & on the bed. The plug-ins were few and far between, some only worked when the lights were on, as in the bathroom.

The owners were just the best! Friendly, helpful, funny, and good cooks!! The location was in a really good spot and the room was cute and comfy. A big swimming pool felt great as did the hot tub! The owners made sure I had a “real” wine glass to enjoy my wine with and gave us such good tips about the area! Breakfast was fresh and delicious every morning as was the coffee!!!

The host was super kind & helpful. The breakfast served every morning were exceptional good (especially the the green Chile egg casserole); everything was fresh and/or homemade!
