The location was amazing. Right in salem by the water
We were put in a handicap room. I am traveling with children and this made it extremely inconvenient. There was no storage and the shower was not accessible for children and families.

Perfect location for wedding in town. Steps to church and venue.
Lovely newly done rooms, nice linens, pillow, furnishings and amenities.
The pub food is quite good.

We loved the location. It was so easy to walk to many attraction like Pickering Wharf, the Salem wax museum, Salem Witch Memorial, restaurants, and so much more. We loved the open, airy feel of the room. Beds were very comfortable. Nice indoor pool.
The only negative about the room was that there is no mini fridge. Most hotels have them so we were disappointed that this one didn’t.

Rooms were very, very nice, great location, had breakfast at the restaurant and it was good, parking good, very clean, rooms well appointed, would definitely recommend
No refrigerator in room

Spacious, well decorated, very clean, comfortable room in excellent location. Smart ergonomic design to accommodate a lot of electronic devices. Welcoming stuff. Free convenient parking.
Everything was nice

Within walking distance to all restaurants and shopping
They booked two weddings at the hotel and created an awkward inconvenient atmosphere. Wedding guests took up all of the hotel parking spots and had to walk several blocks from overflow lot where I had to park.

The hotel manager, Anthony was really kind and tried to make our stay better. The staff in general was very apologetic and kind. However, it didn't feel like they had any power to make things right.
This entire stay was a disaster and I really wish the hotel would have made as aware of the construction that was happening throughout the building during our stay. I grew up in Salem and was visiting with my parter to celebrate Christmas with my family and I was excited to try this hotel. Every single morning between 6-7am we were woken up to loud drilling noises and hammering that sounded like it was happening in the ceiling right above us and the walls around us. We were given a new room, which ended up being even worse. The one week we were able to take off and relax ended up being a trip with little sleep, no ability to sleep in late or even relax in the hotel room, as the construction went on all day. We were told there would be no pauses in the construction and the noises would continue throughout our stay. This all felt like a scam for them to continue to make money throughout a remodel. You need to let people know that this is what their experience will be like when they are paying $700. The blue of this stay equated to $100, and I don't even know I would spend that much for a week to experience a daily headache. The ONLY mention of construction is on their Facebook page and is absolutely buried. Otherwise I couldn't dig up any info or communications around this massive several year remodel project for a small 4 story hotel where you can hear every noise.
Unfortunately, I only have the ability to post photos in this review and the videos I have show how disruptive this construction was.

The room was very nice, spacious, well equipped, the hotel was pleasant, well located since it is close to the most striking attractions in Salem. Parking at no additional cost is also a good service.
It is not facing the sea as its name indicates, however the place does not disappoint

A plus for everything, especially for the reception

Rooms were updated and spacious. Location was good and the valet electric car was a nice extra. Manager was pleasant and seemed passionate about greeting guests. Young boy who drove us in the valet also was eager to help accommodate.
Aside from the manager one morning (I assume that’s who she was), I was never greeted with a smile or any acknowledgment whatsoever. Very little “hospitality” from the front desk associates. My room was only cleaned one time. We even made sure to be gone during the main cleaning times so we weren’t in the way. When they did clean we didn’t receive clean wash rags to replace the dirty that were taken. One of the comforters were taken off one bed and used on the second bed because the original one it was made with had some sticky like substance that I don’t even want to speculate about. When the room was made up, the comforter was just folded on the ground next to the bed which I found odd. It felt as though maybe housekeeping was spread thin. There was again some sort of clear gooey substance in the bathtub that I steered clear of.
At one point there was entertainment on the patio but was told it was a private event so we could not sit out there - for the rate I paid I’d like access to the amenities that were advertised. I also noticed rates had significantly dropped from the time I booked so that was disappointing that I paid more for a lesser level room than others paid for upgraded rooms.

Location and facilities
Pillows were the only big downfall.

The hotel was very nice. The bar and bartender were very kind. Plus the drinks were tasty.
First hotel I've stayed in with robes for us to use.Very excellent bonus. Beds were comfortable and so were the pillows. Location was great. Everything we planned to do was in walking distance.
Trying to figure out how to get to hotel parking lot was not t h e easiest. Ended up going around the block 3 times.

Breakfast service was excellent though food was mediocre.
Location and free parking was good
Receptionist at check in was ignorant. No eye contact, abrupt and unwelcoming, on phone whilst processing check in

The heating system was VERY loud

location
The room above us was under construction and there was pounding and scraping all day while we were trying the take a nap to recover from jet lag

a very convenient location. easy to walk to restaurants and attractions. desk staff was friendly. parking is free. bed was comfortable
bathroom could have been cleaner. the toilet was loose and very close to the sink which made it difficult. the description says sound proof rooms but we could hear every noise from neighbors on both sides including their use of the bathrooms. yuck.
we ordered breakfast to the room using the convenient door tag but some items were missing. no creamer or sugar for the coffee and could not get them to bring some.

THere was an issue with the heat and they fixed it within ten minutes of my call.
The bed was really uneven and lumpy.

everything definitely will be coming back!

The food at the pub was good,
I had a parking pass and ended up having to park in a sketchy parking lot across the bridge. The shower curtain rod fell off the shower wall

great location, close to everything!
the property itself is getting pretty rundown inside. the pool area was a little gross actually and the bathroom inside the hotel room has also seen better days.

Good location in historic district. good value breakfast
Misleading name - parking lot front would be more appropriate. Worn carpets, furniture, doors

Location was great!
Our air conditioner did not work so it was very hot. We opened the windows and got a little some comfort in order to get some rest. We drove 13 hours...

The staff was friendly and efficient. We also enjoyed the overall homey feel and decor of the lobby. Upon entry your instantly greeted and welcomed by a warm scent of fall.
The overall room cleanliness and upkeep could be improved. We found fruit flies in our bathroom, the furniture really worn down and the wall was pretty dirty with marks all along the wallpaper. In addition the insulation was poor as our adjoining door to the next room felt non existent as we heard everything. Lastly with all the food in the area it would of been nice for the room to have a refrigerator.

The hotel is in a convenient part of Salem.
This hotel promotes itself as a luxury hotel. It is not. It is on par with a low-end chain (Holiday Inn for example). I stood in front of the reception desk where there were two employees working on the computer. They didn't even look up for 5 minutes. No one else was there but me. The lobby is well worn, elevators are dirty. the whole place needs a coat of paint. very disappointed for $635 per night!
