The views and the convenient location to our destinations in the area.
I’m truly baffled at the positive reviews this Inn has received. The photos used in the Booking.com listing make the property appear cleaner and more well kept than it is and I deeply regret not taking photos of the room during my stay.
Upon entry to the Inn, there are cobwebs and dead flies/hornets/bugs in many areas we passed. The chandelier over the stairs had not been cleaned in some time, since it was covered in cobwebs and dust.
The rooms are located on the lower levels of the property, going down one or two flights of stairs for access, which may be cumbersome for those with a lot and/or heavy luggage.
We stayed in room 10. The keys used to enter the rooms are very finicky. Entering the room you’re immediately met with a closet and a tight left turn to access the room.
The room, while spacious and bright, is very dated and desperately in need of a refresh. The bedding canopy was covered in cobwebs both over and under the canopy, the fabric headboard clearly had not been cleaned in years, if at all, so you can see the remnants of bodily stains from those who stayed there during the years.
The mattress must have been replaced recently as it was fairly comfortable. One of the bedside table lamps did not work, however all of the outlets did work.
The porch area was nice upon first glance, yet there were spiderwebs everywhere. With an accompanying dead plant it makes for a creepy view.
There is a substantial gap in the bottom of the doors leading to the porch which allows for bugs of all kinds to get in. While this inn is in a wooded area, I should not have to spend the majority of my stay killing bugs. To add, there are stains on the walls from prior bug killings. Not really a good look. Walls most definitely need a wash and a fresh coat of paint.

Breakfast was good. Was hoping to have the restaurant open for dinner but it was closed. Location was difficult to get to due to steep, twisting road.
Restaurant could have been open for dinner

Amazing views and the staff was really nice!
Slightly outdated interior but worked with the cabin/outdoorsy feel

Location to the hiking trails was good.
Wifi was not working in the room. They did not clean made up the room in spite we were staying for 2 nights. Breakfast was not up to the expectations.

The privacy of our specific room, the excellent staff, and great food selection.
Food service stops at 6:30.

The location was great-brought us close to nature which was the goal of our trip. I got to watch the "sunrise" through the trees and fog from our balcony which is something I will remember for a long time. I was a little nervous that the room would be really tight-#4- but it was perfectly adequate and had enough room for our bags too.
It wasn't a problem but we couldn't find any staff to let know we were leaving, so we just left our room key on the bar on our way out. The room was slightly stuffy without AC-we should have opened the door to the porch and allowed some of the cooler air in.

Weak breakfast.

What impressed me most was the beautiful view from the deck outside the hotel restaurant and from the balcony outside our room. The location was great, being across the street from Mt. Tamalpais park. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed eating dinner and breakfast at the hotel. The food was very good.
The hotel and furnishings seemed a little dated.

The elevator was a little sketchy but stairs were close.

The setting was amazing and staff friendly.

The location is amazing. The staff was fantastic, they took excellent care of us and catered to our every need. The beds and robes were wonderful. The fireplace is a great touch and the views are fabulous. The bed was very comfortable.
The whole facility is is dire need of a renovation. It is very out dated and desperately needs a paint job, new carpet and furniture. The food was adequate. The photos of the building don't accurately represent how it looks. The fireplace chimney needed to be swept which made our room smoky. The tub stop didn't work so we couldn't take a bath. The bath was one reason we upgraded the room.

The location was perfect. You have easy access to many trails for hiking. The room had a balcony and french doors that open to a fabulous view. The staffs were nice. The restaurant was great and had a nice view as well.
This is not about the property itself. But we had neighbors who had a bunch of their friends over at their balcony and they were loud.

Lots of spider webs and hornets. A bit of dust too. Could use some renovations in bathroom
