WiFi was terrible

This hotel was close from the city centre, you could easily walk around. The staff was friendly, breakfast abundant and my room was clean. Good value for money.

The Hotel Palace Santarém was normal—the air conditioning worked, the toilet flushed, the staff were attentive. They provided a good breakfast at a small restaurant next door. We were able thru the hotel to get same-day laundry service. We selected our room because it was said to have long beds, helpful for someone who is 6'4" tall. The room was set up for handicapped individuals. The bed was long & large enough to accommodate three or four adults. In addition there were two single beds that we used as space for our luggage.

The location was not the best. Having landed late on a Sunday afternoon, come nightfall, the commercial street in front of the hotel emptied. The buses; crowds coming and going; and small-time grocers, variety stores, clothing stores, etc were all shut up, and their owners had gone home for dinner. Very few restaurants seemed to have survived the pandemic, even tho their advertising had lived on. Those that were open were on back streets in odd places. We had problems finding a place to eat dinner that night so bought snacks from the lobby.

I booked this hotel because with the name "Palace" I thought it was a little superior to the others I already know.

Small room and bed

I was unfortunate to see a food delivery person trying to deliver the order to a guest, but the staff said that he had to deliver the order in the room and that only guests could use the elevator, so the delivery person had to use the stairs. I’ve complained about it to the front desk attendant and she didn’t answer me.

Great breakfast. Comfortable, large rooms. Quiet. Silent and good AC.

Completely unusable wifi. Provided items are the bare minimum (simple entry-level soap, nothing more).

Big room. Comfy bed. Location is great, right in the city center. Snacks and beverages available for sale on the reception. Various and tasty breakfast.

Staff were indifferent, almost rude. I arrived on taxi and had difficulties with a change. Lady on the reception refused to help me with changing a bill, despite I explained that I am going to check in. So I had to check in, pay with cash to get some smaller bills change to pay for the taxi. No smiles, no even saying hello. Strange.

Breakfast was really good as if I were in a fine restaurant and the staff was wonderful. Everything was clean and covid-safe, food was super fresh and with a very good variety. The hotel location is a also a plus, close to the river and right in the middle of downtown Santarém.

The free Wi-Fi was really bad, I had trouble working from my computer.

Reception staff are nice. The Location is at the middle of the city. Just this too things.

Rooms are very dirty. There is no restaurant inside the hotel, I faced a real problem to find something to eat, and at the Christmas day, I went to another hotel to eat at there restaurant! The price is so much more than the service
