The view from the house was nice.
If you’re at the property at the begging of the week the local restaurant is not open and local market has bread only. You have to drive to the city for 15 min to the nearest market. We arrived at the property late Sunday evening a family of 4 with young kids and it was inconvenient not to have anything around for breakfast. Would have been nice the owner to give heads up about to bring snacks ( if needed).
The bed mattress was squeaky and uncomfortable. My husband and I had back pain every morning even though both of us in a good physical shape. No nice beaches around the area and not much to visit nature wise. We enjoyed our stay in Chania and visited all around. We were not very impressed with the area of Heraklion.

We would definitely stay here again. Nice small village close to Heraklion.

What a magical house! The village where it is located is like stepping into the past. It was a great experience for me and my family! The host was so nice and gave us a history of the house and the area. We absolutely loved our stay. The views of the mountains from the upstairs are absolutely beautiful! Cannot recommend enough!

This place was so nice, just perfect for our 3 week stay. The village was filled with friendly residents who greeted us daily and we came and went and we ate dinner four nights at the Golden Cage which we loved (it was a quick walk). I would highly recommend this lovely place.

Nice rustic experience with all the modern conveniences. The village and everyone in it were super pleasant and welcomed us in with open arms. The house (old olive mill) was very impressive and has many balconies and decks to sit and relax. I recommend if you want to stay out of the hustle of the city have a quiet time then this is the place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It has a beautiful view of the countryside, way up high on the mountain top and it overlooks a lovely monastery. We loved that it had two bathrooms and two bedrooms. This is a very roomy home. I could have spent a month here enjoying the solitude as we love being in small mountain villages. The owner has thought of everything. We felt right at home.

We enjoyed our stay in this wounderfull rustic house very much. Travelling off-season the wood stove made the house comfy as soon as we lit the fire. Also the tavern "Golden Cage" can be recommended for nice atmosphere and delicous Greek food.

This beautiful, welcoming little home was like living inside a gracious piece of living art. It has been painstakingly renovated as a labor of love by its owners, and everywhere you look, both inside and outside, is peace, order, beauty, and delight. We had everything we needed for our comfort and ease in this well-equipped house, including a beautifully working woodstove and an elegant bathtub. And of course I was not disappointed by the location: incredibly close to everything, including the airport, Heraklion, and all the major tourist sites, while serenely sequestered in a small hill village.

Beautiful refurbished olive press factory in picturesque setting
We enjoyed our brief stay at Villa Fabrica during our brief visit to Crete. The property is very rustic and beautiful and worked well for our family of five (including three teens). Manolis set up a third bed in the second bedroom, so everyone had a spot to sleep at night, and the A/C units worked well - important in July in Greece! Our ferry got in a bit late, so it was late and getting dark by the time we arrived and the local taverna was closed that day (and market has very limited food options), so we drove to a restaurant Manolis recommended about 12 minutes away and had the most amazing meal. We also ate at the local taverna in the village square our last night, and that was also wonderful -highly recommend both! The master bedroom was comfortable, but be aware that there aren’t shutters so unless you bring an eye cover, the sun will wake you quite early. And there are barking dogs in the neighborhood - so ear plugs are also a good idea if you are a light sleeper. We had just come from Oia in Santorini, so this was a very sharp contrast to the tourist packed streets. Here, I think we were about the only tourists amongst the locals and had a chance to glimpse what life would be like in a small Greek village. It is a very small village and there are a number of boarded up properties on the way to the Fabrica, but we saw that throughout Greece - and hopefully over time, those will also be mended. Overall, we had a very nice stay here and really appreciated how responsive and helpful Manolis was, providing recommendations and answering questions. Highly recommend if you are looking for a more rural, peaceful, authentic Greek experience.

Villa Fabrica is a gorgeous piece of property with incredible views. Manny picked us up at the airport and when we arrived, there was wine, fruit and Rika. It did not take us long to find spots to eat and enjoy Greek music. The village people were amazing to talk to. In the villa we enjoyed enough plates, cooking ware and the water pressure was perfect. We can't say enough about the hospitality of everyone we met. Thanks for a perfect getaway.

Characterful Villa in a peaceful village
This beautifully converted olive press is a perfect place to stay if you want a restful stay in a peaceful & tranquil setting surrounded by stunning scenery. The village is very quaint and quiet with only one taverna and one mini market open during our stay. A car is a necessity to reach amenities. Overall we really enjoyed our time at Villa Fabrica.

Beautiful house in charming Cretan village
Loved our one-week stay... and wished we could have stayed for a month! Villa Fabrica is lovely, very comfortable, and has many outdoor areas to enjoy. Experiencing a bit of life in a Cretan village was another big plus. We woke up to church bells and a cooing dove. At breakfast one morning on the terrace, our background music was chanting from the St. John Theologos monastery. We said hello everyday to the lady who feeds the village cats and the gang hanging out at the mini-market/taverna. The owner Manolis is a great host. He escorted us to the property, gave directions to key places, and recommended things to do. The house is near a larger town for supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants, etc. and the national road for getting around the island. A car is a must! Crete is a beautiful island. There is so much to see and do--ancient sites, lovely villages, beautiful beaches, monasteries, mountains, and delicious food.

Villa with a view
This is bar none the most beautiful property we have had the pleasure to rent. The quaint village location, the view of the olive groves surrounding the town, the friendliness of the locals, we will be back and we would have no problem telling people this is a must stay location if visiting Crete.

Quiet, cool and roomy accommodation
The property is well appointed in a quiet village a few miles from the north coast. It has wonderful views across a valley to a monastery. Good place for birdwatching and relaxing on the cool shady terrace. Manolis is a discrete and thoughtful host. It is well situated for visiting many of crete's attractions. The house is cool and roomy, with hot sunny terraces if you like sunbathing.

Charming Villa
We had a lovely and peaceful time in Anopoli. We walked down the many trails and enjoyed peaceful evenings together. It was such a nice and relaxing place to be after the hustle and bustle of other parts of our vacation. Thank you for the hospitality and lovely stay!

Beautiful home and an incredibly friendly helpful host.
We stayed for 5 days in April. We found the home to be very clean and the host to be incredibly friendly, helpful and easy going. The home mad for a terrific base of operations to visit the island and enjoy the friendly Cretan hospitality. I highly recommend this home.
Some points regarding the home. The house is set back from the main road so you will not be able to park at the front door but 50 yds. away. The roads are very narrow so if you are going to rent a car be sure to rent a small car. There was no issue with feeling safe, the neighbors were great and friendly. Please feed the cats that come to visit the back porch.

Quaint Little Village
Anapoli is a quiet unassuming village and the home is warm and inviting. We enjoyed our stay. It is centrally located and you can drive to most parts of the island. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds are comfortable, warm living area and the owner was very gracious. He met us and drove us to the village and also spent time with us highlighting areas to visit during our stay. He also made restaurant recommendation - Peskesi! Reservations are a must but it is worth it. Crete is a beautiful island even in December! We will return!

Fantastic property
A very charming property with a fantastic host. Hard to find in a small village but owner made arrangements to get us directly to the property. An original olive oil mill converted into a very comfortable place to stay. The owner met us upon arrival and surprised us with a tray of fruit (apples and oranges), a bottle of water in the fridge plus a very nice bottle of wine. Highly recommend this location to any travelers.

Crete village getaway...
Exactly what we were looking for...lovingly restored stone house in a small mountain village (once an olive oil factory)...plenty of room (two adjoining bedrooms upstairs) and a large kitchen/dinning room/living room downstairs. Beautiful garden terrace off the living room...and wonderful deck on second level overlooking valley and monastery. The house itself is located on a small stone alley too small for cars of any kind. Absolutely quiet except for the occasional barking dog or rooster. The house has everything one could wish for (wifi, television, working fireplace, well equipped kitchen). The location is such that you must have a car to get to and from restaurants and grocery stores, etc. but they are only 5-10 minutes away at most. Highly recommended.

Fantastic place to stay!
Manolis welcomed us personally and told us about the house. It was charming and comfortable and has such an interesting history! We loved our time there as well as the view from the balconies of the monastery and mountains. Thank you for your restaurant recommendations and advice about what to see. Highly recommend this as a place to stay.

Lovely stay at Villa Fabrica
We stayed at Villa Fabrica in May 2018 and loved it, the villa is very comfortable and easy to stay in, having breakfast on one of the balconies looking over the valley and the monastery is absolutely fabulous. The villa has got every convenience and is well maintained, and the village is very quiet and friendly. Walking up into the hills in the evening as the sun is going down is lovely.
It is just a short drive into the many tavernas of Kokkini Hani where we enjoyed many tasty meals, so all in all an excellent holiday.

We loved the peace and tranquility of staying in a beautiful villa located in the village of Anopoli
The villa is beautiful, well equipped, artistically decorated, and thoughtfully designed. We stayed a week in Crete at this villa, and were grateful to have our own place to relax, do laundry, BBQ, have easy access to beaches to swim in, and to have a home base when exploring Crete. I love the mix of indoor and outdoor living experienced here. The villa has a front courtyard, a back patio, a terrace, and two balconies off the master bedroom. There were many places to relax. We enjoyed eating outside on the patio, drinking tea after dark from my balcony, and the gorgeous view from the terrace. A variety of birds chirp, call, sing, and coo, which is delightful and can be heard from anywhere outside. The village is full of friendly people, and has a corner store for convenience items. Manolis suggested many nice tavernas we were able to try, and let us know which local beaches were best for swimming. The Palace of Knossos was close by. It was lovely to visit. We also went to the other end of the island to visit Balos beach, and to Chania, which we loved. We had planned to do more, but just really enjoyed the villa so much, we just relaxed and enjoyed it. This villa in this tiny town offered a very authentic experience, that we were grateful to have enjoyed. I wish we could have stayed longer, and gotten to know the people who lived here.

A truly beautiful home in a lovely location.
My husband and I are well traveled, often using VRBO locations to establish a home base from which to explore and enjoy various countries. This home was surely the loveliest and most comfortable that we have experienced. The architecture is dramatic, the décor is beautiful, and the amenities (balconies off all bedrooms, a gorgeous patio, an efficient modern kitchen) combine to make this an extraordinary place to stay.
We brought our daughter and her husband to Crete this trip, and had laid out various routes to explore museums and country sides. Crete is a lovely place, with friendly folk in every location we visited. No matter how far afield we went in a day, we looked forward to the return to this wonderful house, to enjoy relaxing with fine wine on the luxurious patio, and discuss our observations.
The house is located in a small village, but it is in easy distance from main roads and mid-size towns with plenty of fine restaurants, grocers, and bakeries. So it was easy to either have dinner at home or out depending on our mood. But the house certainly makes your mood a pleasant one.
I must also make note of the graciousness of the owner. He takes well deserved pride in his home, and good care of his visitors.
