If you’re looking for somewhere to stay that feels like an extension of the desert oasis you came for, this is it! We enjoyed a comfortable, clean, private, peaceful stay in the desert filled with mountain views, active wildlife, and close accessibility to Big Bend without sacrificing anything. The host is very accommodating and helpful.

My wife and I wanted to enjoy the area near Terlingua and the Big Bend National Park. Mark and Michelle made the trip a fantastic success. They made sure we understood how to get to the property and the property was more than we expected. The area around this part of Texas is not heavily populated and with Mark and Michelle's help are trip was fantastic.

Great house, great host, great hot tub, great night sky!!

My wife and I had a great stay. The hosts were fantastic and the 2BR apartment was very roomy and felt like a home away from home. We traveled each day to Big Bend N.P. for hiking, and ate dinner in town. We ate breakfast each morning at the Bad Rabbit Cafe, and it was excellent each day (can be a bit slow when crowded, but it's worth it). The hot tub was also a nice way to end a long day of hiking. My only comment is to be aware that it's about an hour drive to get to Big Bend hiking each day, including a 2 mile drive on a dirt road. Because of this, we went straight from hiking to dinner each night, rather than going back to the apartment to clean up. Every place to eat in town is super-casual, so it worked out fine that we went to dinner a bit trail worn and dusty.

The property is spectacular! The scenery, sunrises, sunsets, and the night sky are all beautiful. Lots of wildlife around during the evenings. Hot tub is a great way to relax after a day of hiking at Big Bend. Mark and Michelle were wonderful hosts, so friendly and helpful. RV has everything needed, including some handy extras (ziploc bags, tupperware, etc.) that you may not have as a traveler. Property is remote, about 45 minutes from Big Bend entrance, but a little extra driving is worth it.

Beautiful scenic nature environment. Lovely responsive hosts. Comfortable, exceedingly clean space.
Be prepared to travel 40 min for a restaurant or grocery store.

We loved our time at Mark and Michelle's property, way out in the Texas Backcountry. Our kids rated the RV the best spot we stayed on our vacation. We saw a gray desert fox, herds of deer, jackrabbit, and other local animals during our stay. Our hosts were wonderful and went out of their way to help us have a great time. It is roughly a 45-minute drive from terlingua Ghost Town, but its remoteness is what makes it so unique and memorable. We hope we'll get to visit again someday!

The RV is a great place to stay! It has everything you need (all the kitchen gadgets and plenty of bathroom and hot tub towels) and is very peaceful and clean. The beds were also comfortable and a welcome sight at after a long day of hiking at Big Bend. Mark did a great job communicating how to get there and check in so it was easy to find. Highly recommend!

Waking up to the quail and deer outside the window and enjoying the evening on the porch watching the fox's was a real treat. An hour from Big Bend made it ideal.

Not just an accommodation but an experience. RV is spacious and comfy. It is fully stocked. If they don’t have it, you don’t need it! The property is amazing. Just an incredibly beautiful vista. Abundant wildlife every single day and a great place to see stars. That said, nothing beats the hosts. From start to finish the communication was extraordinary. Mark and Michelle are an absolute wealth of recommendations and it is clear they love where they live. We were blessed to enjoy their company on the porch ending our every day after visiting the Park. We laughed and had just an all out incredible stay. But let it be known…if you prefer privacy, they will full on give you all the space. We give them a ten out of five stars!!

We enjoyed everything about our stay in this clean well kept rv. Our son loved being able to feed the red tailed fox and watching the mule deer and javalinas come eat in the evening. The owners were onsite and are very friendly and accommodating. It was also a pleasure getting to sit on the porch and enjoy their company.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We wanted to be able to explore Big Bend National Park a few days and also enjoy the dark sky and stars. Staying here allowed us to do both. We were blessed with also striking up a friendship with the owners. They were a delightful couple, interesting to chat with and very accommodating.

If you need a place to lay your head, the r.v. is perfect. It shares a covered area with the main house where the owners reside but they give you space. The r.v. is quite spacious and offers many accommodations like satellite tv and there is also a hot tub available. If you are looking for a more intimate setting, the barndomenium is it! Tucked in behind the main house and r.v., the barndo has its own hot tub and wildlife comes right up to the area to feed. Perfect for those that may find life easier with a bath tub and more of a home away from home feel. The dark sky rule makes for a wonderful time to see the night sky and shooting stars. Even with the 6 gallon hot water heater, there was plenty of water to bathe and shower comfortably. Be sure to bring bottled water for drinking but there is some drinking water provided in case you forget. It is a good 20 miles to the gas station so plan accordingly. And, if you can handle dirt roads (that were freshly grated when we went so it was extremely bumpy) then you will love it here! We will definitely be coming back with our family next time!

We made a concerted effort to reach this location before dark and it’s a good thing we did. This is dark sky territory and it is absolutely breathtaking. It’s like being able to see EVERY SINGLE STAR! Our short stay included sightings of deer, javelina, wild burros and coyotes. Our hosts were wonderful. Highly recommended!

Our first trip to Big Bend and we had so many adventures! We saw so much wildlife from the camper from the minute we arrived. So quiet and peaceful and the hot tub much welcomed after days of hiking. It's not complicated to find but if you prefer to navigate via google maps download one prior as there is no service after the main road turn off. We had a wonderful time!

Very nice property. Excellent location. Wonderful hosts.
Late spring warms up fast in the Big Bend. The property had strong AC, and a choice of shaded areas that caught a pleasant breeze.
The location is close by Terlingua Ranch HQ which has a nice restaurant. The surrounding area is stunning West Texas desert/mountains.
The hosts, Mark and Michelle, were very friendly and helpful.

We had a great trip to BBNP and this was a fabulous place to return to every evening. It was very nice being able to grill every night. The RV was comfortable and very clean. Water pressure not great but it’s the desert. Location is incredible. Every night sat on the porch with a glass of wine looking at the most incredible scenery. I will most definitely stay here again!

Our family found this well appointed camper to be perfect for our escape to explore Big Bend National Park. Mark and Michelle were excellent hosts with great communication along the way. Property is beautiful, especially at sunrise and sunset as you have a panorama of mountains all around you. This was our first experience staying in a camper and would definitely consider this option again.

My wife & I loved our stay with Mark, Michelle & Chula. They have a beautiful piece of land & couldnt be any nicer people. The RV was comfortable & had everything we needed. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch at sunset & watching all the deer, foxes & javelina. Its very relaxing & peaceful if you need to unwind like we did. There are no words to describe how amazing and remote this location is. If you are a star lover, you will not be disappointed in these view both at night and during the day! Mark and Michelle are both so friendly and so knowledgeable about the areas, They had several great recommendations and their knowledge saved us a few times while there. My ended up with a flat tire, Mark helped us with an air compressor and recommended a great tire guy in town to get up back on the roads and back in the park! The casita is super cute, and they have literally thought of everything! The queen bed in the bedroom is so comfy, I honestly didn't miss my bed a bit, it was so wonderful. We cooked all of our meals here save 1, and anything we needed, was on hand. We were able to use the fridge, stove and both grills all without issues. If you are looking for a truly relaxing, somewhat off the grid, this spot will meet and exceed your expectations. We would recommend this spot to our friends and family without hesitation.

If you want a taste of living in a remote desert setting- whether to relax and enjoy the serene views or to unwind after a busy day at Big Bend, this is for you! First of all this place was amazingly clean. For an RV, the owners make sure you have all needed incidentals and then some. Need plastic storage for leftovers- No problem. Need plastic cutlery for lunch on a hike- Got it! Forgot your razor or need motrin-You're covered.
Communication was prompt and clear. Not familiar with the intricacies of an RV- simple explanations are provided. Check-in/out was a breeze. Mark and Michelle are very friendly and eager to make your stay the best possible!

My girlfriend and I planned a trip to Terlingua/Big Bend, not knowing exactly what we were getting into. The trip itself turned out fantastic! There are so many fun and cool things to do; from riding a rowboat across the Rio Grande into Mexico, to climbing the tallest peak at Big Bend, taking a dip in the hot springs, and then relaxing under the desert night sky after a long day of adventures.
This Chiles were wonderful hosts and their property was pretty amazing. Over 100 acres of west Texas desert, it’s easy to feel like you’re out in the middle of nowhere. And that’s all part of the experience!
The property was clean and functional, Chula, their eager puppy, was a joy to be around, and the location was great! We spent 5 nights here and when we return to West Texas, this property will be at the top of our list for places to stay!
Thanks so much Mark and Michelle for being wonderful hosts and providing a great place for us to stay!

The RV was clean and has everything we needed. Mark and Michelle were helpful and accessible if needed, but we really didn't need much while we were there.
