The town of Erice was like living a fairytale with its magical charm whispering all through town and the 3 castles. We came here in early May after 5 busy days in Rome, being rained out of Palermo, and trying to safely drive Sicily terrain… Even though Erice was covered in heavy fog upon arrival, this was the start of its enchantment. Then, quickly meeting Iola (Vincenzo’s mom) at the entrance of the village made it feel like home. And boy did it! She and her partner gave us a quick historical tour of the village, helped us park the car, and then guided us through this lovely 3-story venetian/cartegan-inspired home. She had pastries and fresh fruit ready for us and said to call her at any time. The next day, at 6am, I snuck out to the rooftop terrace only to fall in love with an amazing view of the Mediterranean Sea, the nearby islands, and the rest of the land surrounding Erice/Trapani. Incredible. The rest of the home with its linens and small details restored us back to normal, just like being at home would. Can’t wait to come back!!

My wife and I stayed at this Erice flat two nights, and wished we'd stayed longer. The flat is super clean, and it's quiet and private. The view from the terrace is wonderful and it is a great place for a glass of wine and for unwinding after a day spent touring the countryside or walking the town. The pictures are accurate, but perhaps a description of the layout will be helpful for those considering this flat: the ground floor consists of a bedroom with twin beds and a bathroom with shower. The second floor opens into a living room and kitchen. The top floor has a large primary bedroom, a bathroom with toilet/bidet/washing machine, and the terrace with the great views. What connects the three floors is a corkscrew-like circular staircase. So if stairs are an issue or there are small children, perhaps this flat wouldn't work so well. For us, it was perfect. I must mention what nice people the owners are and their tremendous hospitality towards us. English language communications are answered quickly by Vincenzo, the son of the family who own the flat. Parking is an issue in Erice, but we arranged a meeting at the front gate entrance, and then Vincenzo directed us to free parking for our stay (note: free parking isn't available mid-summer). Then his wonderful father, Guiseppe, loaded our luggage into his car and dropped it off at the flat. Meanwhile we walked up to the town with Vincenzo and he described the history of Erice and places we should consider visiting. I should add that the host provided a really wonderful amount of fresh fruit, desserts, a bottle of wine/beers for us to consume. This was a really nice touch, which we greatly appreciated. Vincenzo also told us where we could purchase fresh tuna (mid-May to mid-June is tuna season) for a meal we ate on the terrace. In short, we were blown away by the hospitality, and the flat was really great. Erice is a really nice place to stay and it's especially wonderful once the busloads of day trippers have left. Second stay after long pandemic of longing to come back to magical Erice! I found this gem after many hours researching the best place to explore Erice and other interesting side trips such as Trapani and Mozia. Iola and Vencenzo made certain they could welcome us to show us around the town for a second time as we arrived much later than we imagined. They are very, very generous with supplying things like coffee, milk, drinks, fruits and more. This was a great help for us to settle in without making immediate plans for groceries. The kitchen is well supplied for preparing all meals at home. Excellent quality wine glasses…. A true indication visitors will be well taken care of. Yet, there are some amazing restaurants nearby. There is a really cool spiral staircase that winds its way to all three levels. i am in my sixties and had no issues. It was helpful to allow a friend to stay for a visit where he had the entire downstairs to himself with a kitchen and living area in between bedrooms. Then, there is the most amazing balcony with an incredible view of the valley and the sea…. Not to mention viewing the famous creepy-cool Erice fog. Overall, perfect for two families or families with teenagers. The host family spare no burden of their own to make sure to keep everyone safe during the trying times of the trailing pandemic. Their availability to assist in any manner was greatly appreciated as the only contact was when it was needed. Secure Parking and the washing machine made everything so much easier. It was an incredible treat to be in this sacred land again! I will be back again and again!

The property owners went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. The spiral staircase between the three levels could be challenging however for anyone with mobility issues. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

My husband and I had a one night stay in this very cute apartment. Utterly charming hosts greeted us and showed us around. The place was spotless. Lovely views. Highly recommend.

Spent hours researching the best place to take side trips from the west coast of Sicily. As a solo traveler, I am so in debt to my hosts! They treated me as if I were family! I’d read about how fantastic they were, and was very pleased to discover it to be true! What a surprise that they took me around the city to show me the history of the place. The home grown tomatoes made a fabulous meal by itself! The kitchen and home could not have been better stocked with all the comforts of home. Ah, so comfy here. I’d only wished i could have managed four days there! At night, there is the eerie cool fog that comes in at night just as I’d heard! What a magical city full of wonder! Next visit, I’ll certainly start here to be certain I have more time for exploring Erice and the many nearby interests!

This is a beautiful, traditional style house in Erice and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The house is comfortable and homely with many thoughtful touches. The terrace upstairs provides fabulous views over the surrounding area, and although it was raining for a lot of our visit, we managed to get out there to appreciate the view when we could. This highlight of the stay though was meeting the owners, Iole and Giuseppe. They met us at the entrance to Erice and accompanied us to the house to make sure our bags and us arrived safely. On the way they gave us a great mini tour and historical overview of Erice which we really appreciated. It was so nice to meet people proud and passionate about the town. And to top it off, they provided a great array of supplies and treats at the house = coffee, local biscuits, milk, drinking water and a bowl of grapes - all amazing touches. Vincenzo and his family were wonderful from the get go. Excellent communication, very responsive and very helpful in making dining suggestions and providing info on parking in Erice. Iole and Giuseppe met us at the parking area and drove us to the flat, which was in a very convenient location just off the main street through town. It is not a long hike but it is uphill so their assistance was appreciated. Iole, who speaks perfect English, gave us a very complete introduction to the apartment and some very useful information about Erice generally. The flat was sparkling clean, very comfortable and up to date. Very comfortable bed and nice shower with plenty of hot water. The apartment is on three levels connected by a spiral staircase so it would not be appropriate for everyone. I can’t say enough how helpful and kind Vincenzo, Iole and Giuseppe were. They made us feel like we were staying with friends rather than in a rental apartment. I cannot recommend this property highly enough. Grazie mille Vincenzo, Iole e Giuseppe!!!

Nous voyagions en famille avec trois enfants, dont un jeune adulte. Nous avons beaucoup aimé cette maison de village. Logement spacieux, charmant, bien équipé, bonnes literies, et par dessus-tout: une terrasse enchanteresse!!! Beaucoup de gratitude pour les parents de Vincenzo qui nous ont accueilli avec beaucoup de chaleur et de coeur. Merci beaucoup à vos dévoués parents et à vous Vincenzo, grâce à vous trois nous avons passé des moments délicieux à Erice.

Idéalement situé l'appartement a une jolie vue de la terrasse sur le toit. Il est propre et assez grand pour une famille de 5. Tout y est. L'accueil est très chaleureux. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour.

This is one of, if not the, best holiday rentals we have ever stayed in. The hosts, the Bica family, could not have been more helpful and obliging - they took us to the accomodation on arrival in Erice and found a free parking area for us to use during our two week stay. The accomodation was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. It was also quiet even though it was only a two minute walk to the shops and facilities in Erice. There is a splendid rooftop terrace for eating out which has good views of the whole area. All in all an excellent place to stay and a good base for travelling round western Sicily.

The owner of the property was very helpful with information about the area. The apartment was wonderful and centrally located. The parents of the owner met us outside of town and helped us secure parking, and then shuttled us to the apartment in their own car. Views from the balcony were amazing. We couldn't be more pleased, and only regretted we couldn't spend more time there.

Lovely accommodation in the center of the old town. Very warm welcome - great information - host met us at the parking lot and transported us with our luggage to our apartment. We were two couples and the only downside was only one full bathroom and one half bathroom. Fully equipped and our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The spiral staircase was not a problem since our host took the baggage to the rooms and picked it up on our departure. Beautiful town - worth the 2 day visit.

The apartment is beautifully maintained, is blessed with stunning views and is in the centre of the very striking and characterful town of Erice. Restaurants, cafes, tourist sites and the small supermarket are all within easy reach. Vincenzo was always prompt and clear in his replies to questions we had before (and during) our visit. His parents ensured on arrival that we found a suitable parking place and helped us get our baggage to the apartment. The same service was provided on departure. They had also thoughtfully furnished a variety of drinks and food as part of a 'welcome' pack: this was very much appreciated. They also answered all our questions about the property and the tourist features of the surrounding area. Their family are truly first-class hosts. A note: I repeat, the supermarket is small. It was able to provide what we needed for our short stay - particularly when supplemented by what was already provided by Vincenzo's parents - but those visitors needing a wider choice of products will need to stock up in the larger shops at the base of the mountain in Valderice or Trapani.

This newly renovated apartment was perfect for our family. It was close to everything in Erice, and we couldn’t have asked for more. The owners went above and beyond, too.

Auch die Sizilianer koennen das Wetter nicht beeinflussen. Wir verbrachten sehr schoene Tage in Erice und Agrigento. Die Besitzer in Erice waren sehr hilfreich und zuvorkommend. Das Haus/Wohnung ist in einem excellenten Zustand. Gehbehindert sollte man nicht sein, denn das waere ein Challenge. Natuerlich ist das Haus nicht auf "kalt" eingestellt und es waere von Vorteil, wenigstens eine etwas staerkere Heizungseinheit im Haus zu haben, aber wenn man von Canada kommt verdaut man diesen Mangel. Danke, es war schoen bei Euch.

La visite d'Erice est une étape obligatoire à l'ouest de la Sicile. L'appartement de Vincenzo est idéal, il témoigne parfaitement de l'atmosphère phénicien du village. Les parents de Vicenzo sont des gens charmants et enthousiastes.

Non saprei da dove iniziare per descrivere il piacevole soggiorno ad Erice a casa di Vincenzo. Intanto al nostro arrivo abbiamo trovato i genitori di Vincenzo, due persone piacevolissime, che ci attendevano con la loro auto alle mura della città, caricando i nostri bagagli e facendoci fare, prima di condurci in appartamento (zona ZTL) un giro ricognitivo di Erice, con utili notizie storiche e pratiche. L’abitazione, su tre livelli, è in una tipica corte Ericina. Cosa dire, non manca nulla, è dotata di ogni confort e si vede chiaramente che la stessa è abitata dagli stessi proprietari in alcuni mesi dell’anno. Molto pulita e curata, con biancheria profumata. Abbiamo trovato come omaggio di benvenuto della frutta fresca, acqua e succhi di frutta in frigorifero è tutto ciò che serve per la colazione del mattino. I genitori di Vincenzo ci hanno dato tutte le informazioni sia per vivere al meglio la casa, che per visitare Erice, Trapani e dintorni. Dialogando piacevolmente, hanno anche nominato una crema al gelsomino, da noi mai assaggiata, è prontamente il giorno successivo abbiamo trovato due porzioni di crema fuori dall’appartamento . Una delizia. L’ultimo giorno i genitori di Vincenzo si sono nuovamente resi disponibili per accompagnarci con i bagagli all’auto. Giudizio complessivo molto positivo.

This charming property offers more than it is described: warmth, ambience, little windows scattered in the walls framing breath taking views. A roof terrace to enjoy 180 degree views. I would recommend Vincenzo's home without hesitation.

The people were wonderful. They came and got us with our luggage and drove us to the apartment. Fresh raspberries, oranges, water, juices, breakfast pasteries and coffee was supplied. They were very helpful!

The property is in a quiet location but very close walking to any place you want because Erice is such a small town. The hosts are very warm, gracious, welcoming, eager to please and provide anything you want or help in any way. The flat is spacious and lovely, decorated with beautiful items. Nice full sized kitchen. The only caveat is that the stairs between the 3 floors are a very narrow spiral. You must be agile to climb up or down, but we got used to them very quickly.
