Service was not just friendly, but over-and-above generous and helpful. Both our late night arrival and early morning departure were supported with constant help with our transport plans in real time, and a special breakfast arrangement we could manage before catching a very early bus. Advice for what to see, do, and eat (including catering for dietary requirements) in Matera and how was perfectly judged. Getting to, seeing, and returning from Matera was all made easy and pleasant thanks to the advice we received here. The room was larger than expected, and a the BnB as a whole a perfect example of the Sassi.

Nicola and his father were incredibly hospitable and friendly. Nicola shared the fascinating and rich history of his family's home. We were made to feel so comfortable in our clean and spacious bedrooms. Nicola provided us with recommendations for one of the best dinners of our trip. He and his father provided a delicious breakfast. We highly recommend a stay here.

Extremely comfortable with a fantastic breakfast cooked each morning by Nicola! We had never had pane e pomodori and it was delicious as was the coffee. Nicola is the best host I have ever come across— he advised us on all the places to see, where to eat, where to find the best gelato, etc. Highly recommended!!

Nicola and his Papa were the best of hosts!! Situated in old Sassi town, I can not recommend this B&B enough! Nicola was a true gentleman and spoke perfect English, making sure I was comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful and they even used their own home made olive oil! Grazie Mile Nicola, as a Kiwi far from home you exceeded my expectations! 🙏🏻

B&B Florentine is a home away from home. The property has a special charm and cosiness and is very clean. The host takes care of you as if you are family or friend and is always available to assist and/or advise.

We loved the location, the room and the host. Nicola was extremely helpful, warm and friendly from the moment we arrived to when we left. His father who grew up in the property cooked us breakfast in the morning. Perfect place to stay in Matera if you're looking for an authentic experience.

Everything is perfect here. The host is very professional and nice. Room is clean and cozy. The decorations are amazing, original and with a fine taste. Natural cool temperature in the room for a really good sleep in summer. Very good location, walking distance to restaurants and bars and all the attractions. Big surprise !!

Nicola was super-helpful, with perfect english, he made excellent suggestions for places to walk and to eat etc. The room was lovely, everything working and clean, and a much better breakfast than one normally gets in Italian b&b accommodation. The location itself was perfect, right in the centre, but also quiet and discrete. We were there in November and Nicola and his father had even lit a cosy fire for the morning breakfast room. Highly recommended.

Nicola got in touch before we arrived to tell us about changing train stations in Bari and then kindly picked us up with our luggage from Matera Centrale. He also contacted a ticket agent and purchased our bus tickets to Salerno and Amalfi! AND drove us to the right bus stop in Matera early this morning!! Above and beyond all expectations, leaving us free to spend our time exploring and revelling in the sights of the ancient city. He and his father also prepared a delicious breakfast each morning. Excellent restaurant recommendatons made our meals in Matera a culinary experience deluxe!

Well-located and charming, historic property built into one of the restored caves of the area. The very friendly and helpful father and son team are wonderful hosts and cannot do enough to help you. Breakfast and facilities are excellent. Matera is a fascinating and beautiful place to visit and this is a great place to stay. Highly recommended.

Everything! The location is excellent. Nicola and his father are very hospitable, this is a great family run place in a charming historic house, where they think of all the details to make your experience great. The breakfast was more than just the typical italian pastry, we had fresh Materan produce. Will definately come back!

Nichola called on the phone and offered to collect us from the bus stop, that was a wonderful start. The guest house was charming, tastefully decorated, comfortable and very clean. Well situated in the old town it was so peaceful, no traffic to disturb or pollute. We were made very welcome and offered every assistance. Papa Giovanni prepared an excellent breakfast each morning, served with a cheery smile. Good value for money, this is an great choice for an authentic stay in Matera. Highly recommended.
