They are very nice - and the hotel is right in the center of town, right off the square by about 1 block, it is just set back enough not to be noisy at all. It has a very "homey" feeling - the room was large and had big windows, I was walking the camino and my room even had a jacuzzi tub which was great for tired feet that had walked 7 hours that day.

Hotel Garelos was perfectly located, just off the main square in Betanzos, offering an ideal place of rest for me while on the Camino to Santiago. Adrianna was very welcoming on reception when I arrived, with helpful advice on restaurants and bars. The room was of a very high standard, and I slept very well. The breakfast was enormous too!

Simply lovely hotel with wonderful decor throughout. Young lady receptionist was just marvellous and served me a perfect pot of English tea with breakfast.

Friendly, efficient staff. Reception staff were very helpful and the lady serving breakfast was lovely, giving us tips on where to visit. The hotel was spotless and adhered to the Covid regulations to the letter, even taking our temperatures on arrival. Lovely comfortable bed and spacious room. Definitely recommended!

Superb breakfast and they work to your leaving time, lovely room and great informative hosts

We liked everything. From the moment we arrived Pilar welcomed us with a refreshing lemon drink for us (peregrinos) and our perro-grino with water and food. Our rucksacks were already in our room; the room was spotless with all mod cons, comfortable beds, pillows, huge clean towels and a hot shower. Air conditioning in the room, great wifi, TV and and tea and coffee was gratis. What more could we wish for? The woman who received us was wonderful, friendly and kind. The next day when I was so tired and having difficulty with a booking, the receptionist in the afternoon went out of her way to help and called ahead. The human warmth I felt, after travelling on the Camino del Norte and then the Camino Ingles under Covid-19, was like a big, warm virtual hug. It is very good value and an exceptional hotel in a beautiful location. So much so, we extended our stay by one more night. Highly recommended.
