Travis, the host was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. He made some great recommendations as to the to places see and eat. We will definitely return to this property whenever time permits. The bed was very comfortable. I could hibernate in this cabin through the entire winter with no problem. Next time I will try some gold panning. The stay was too short.

Travis’ incredible hospitality and his striking, cozy, hand-built cedar cabins made our stay in Talkeetna exceptional. From picking us and our bags up at the train station, letting us run a load of laundry, giving us countless local recommendations for restaurants and activities, starting a fire for us to roast s’mores, and advising us on an impromptu midnight northern lights viewing - Travis was the perfect host. Hospitality wasn’t the only thing that shined, though, the cabins were cozily curated with Netflix and board games, guides and books, a stocked kitchenette, and, most importantly during the winter, excellent heating and hot water pressure. Clearly, there was attention in every detail from the slate bathroom accents to the Alaska wildlife decor and hand-done cedar-paneled cabins. I can’t believe we lucked out landing a night with Travis - he’s usually booked, and for good reason. We wish we could’ve stayed longer and can’t wait to return soon!

Nothing! Our night in Talkeetna Villas and Tours was great.

This was our favorite stay (over some pretty swanky lodges). It was easy to find, located so we could walk everywhere in town. First impression is misleading (more oh-no than wow), but our room was very modern and perfect. Our host met us, told us he would have our room ready when we got back from lunch and the keys would be on the table ... and yes we could just leave our car parked there. Best of all, we were in the woods, in a quiet place, with guests gathering in the evening for quiet visiting. Warm, welcoming in a town not to be missed.

First impression taught me never to judge a book by it's cover. It turned out to be the most relaxed and convenient location we stay at while in Alaska. It had a real backwoods flavor while being extremely generous.

Camper parked in front of building. Dilapidated BBQ PITS IN courtyard. Mismatched lawn furniture and umbrellas , children’s toys and playthings in courtyard.Raw unfinished plywood on exterior of building walls. No sidewalks to manage luggage to accommodations. Owner’s appearance unprofessional. Interior dated furniture . Needless to say we did stay, the question I have is how this property became rated “9.5” on booking. Com. I hope to receive your explanation and a refund of my payment. We had to scramble to find accommodations which was. Twice the price. ( on booking. Com)

The owner welcomes you and shows you the villa. Beautiful little space with a comfy bed, warm shower and small kitchen. You will have a porch to sit on as well.
