Modern apartment in Châtel with fantastic views
Exposition sud, deux chambres appartement au premier étage à Petit Châtel (1280 mtr altitude, env. 2 km du centre Châtel) peut accueillir 4 adultes ou 2 adultes et 3 enfants. L'hébergement comprend: Salon / coin cuisine, 1 chambre à deux lits et 1 chambre avec 2 lits superposés et lit gigogne, salle d'eau avec WC, WC séparés, balcon avec vue magnifique sur Châtel et à travers la vallée. Place de parking, garage pour vélos de montagne, et une grande armoire externe (Cave) pour les skis ainsi qu'un grand espace de rangement à l'intérieur de l'appartement. Nous avons WiFi, Anglais TV satellite, ainsi que la télévision française. Il y a un service de bus gratuit fréquent aux stations de relevage Châtel qui arrête juste devant. L'ascenseur le plus proche est une minutes quelques en bus et, dans de bonnes conditions de neige, vous pouvez skier presque à la porte - hors piste!
Châtel est dans le domaine des Portes du Soleil donnant accès à plus de 600 km de pistes de ski. En été, le village est une Mecque pour les amateurs de VTT avec un excellent parc à vélos, pistes de descente permanentes et beaucoup de routes de cross-country, si nécessaire, je pourrais vous donner le nom d'un guide.
Localisation: Châtel a une bonne sélection de bars et de restaurants et une bonne ambiance après-ski.
Notre immeuble est situé dans un endroit calme dans la région de Petit Châtel, juste au-dessus du centre-ville. Il est à distance de marche du centre, mais pendant la saison été / hiver, il y a un restaurant et bar à Petit Châtel le long avec des magasins de sport et Nouvelles Agent / Laundrette, et des installations centrales sont accessibles via le service de bus gratuit (de saison).

En Juillet et Août quelques-unes des remontées mécaniques sont ouvertes et il y a un service de bus régulier et libre de l'arrêt en dehors de notre appartement.
Idéalement situé pour les nombreux sentiers de vélo de montagne et le Bike Park à Pré-la-Joux. L'ascenseur Pré le Joux ouvre habituellement à la mi Juin pour donner accès à Morzine, Avoriaz et Le Gets pour les vététistes et marcheurs.
D'autres activités incluent: pêche, escalade, équitation, parapente, baignade dans le centre aquatique (ouverture été 2014), tennis, Luge, Diable Chariots et juniors parc à vélo. Il y a quelques excellents minéraux espars une courte distance en voiture, où vous pourrez vous détendre après une journée de marche ou de ski.

The apartment had everything we needed. The view from the balcony was amazing. Did some lovely walks especially to the green lake. We enjoyed visiting the goat village
at Les Linderets. A must for anyone with children. We never felt the need to eat out anywhere. Self catered & just sat on the balcony each evening with a glass of wine watching the sun go down. WONDERFUL!!!!

Apartment was warm and comfortable, had everything we needed and in an excellent location, which was easy to find. Perfect to have the bus stop just outside. Fantastic views from the balcony. Information from the owners was spot on. Far enough outside of town centre for peace and quite, yet within easy reach of all amenities.

Had a fantastic holiday in this apartment. It was clean, modern, warm and everything worked. Wifi was great - worked in all rooms and never 'dropped out' - a bonus as in my experience wifi in Chatel is not always reliable. Having been to Chatel many times we knew the location of the apartment and so were prepared for the walk back in the evening - its about 25 mins. The bus stops outside and runs regularly so no need to walk during the day. We also discovered this time that there is an evening service which runs back up to Petit Chatel until 11.30 on Wednesday and Friday which was useful. The apartment is great, 2 bedrooms and a living area which has plenty of space for 4 to relax in. The kitchen area is fully equipped - plenty of glasses, crockery and cutlery The balcony gives a fantastic view of the whole town and valley - we sat outside with blankets and hot chocolate on a couple of evenings. We were lucky this year as they have had great snow in Chatel (unlike the previous 2 yeas) - we did see people skiing back to the road outside the apartment but didn't manage to work out the route ourselves. Chatel is a beautiful village and I would highly recommend this apartment.

Great little apartment, very comfortable for the 4 of us. Very clean and well maintained. Very well equipped and comfortable. Great location with the ski bus on the doorstep . Lots of storage. Lovely balcony to watch the sun set over the mountains. We would definitely stay here again.

I can strongly recommend this flat, ideal for families with up to three kiddies; very clean, very modern, perfect location in Chatel and close to the skibus, you do not need a car there; we would go there again and recommend to all our friends and readers

An immaculate and well maintained appartment. Compact and comfortable. Ideal for skiing holiday or summer walking, cycling. Ski bus stops just outside and runs regularly until 18.30. Village is a 25 min walk down hill or 35 min walk back up the hill. Has 2 small supermarkets and selection of French/Swiss shops. We found the locals to be friendly. The surrounding Portes du Soleil ski area is vast and mostly interlinked ( may need 20 min walk or bus ride to some resorts). The selection of ski areas and runs would keep most skiers and boarders happy for weeks. I would recommend the Portes du Soleil ski pass rather than the Chatel one. Summer walking trip
A well maintained, clean and well equipped apartment with a lovely view of the mountains. Great for summer holidays: we made the most of the area with mountain walks, white water rafting and a trip to the spa resort. Chatel is a lovely small town which has good restaurants that were recommended by the owner. Highly recommended.

great appartment at fantastic location
The appartment was clean, complete, well located for ski-bus, fresh bread in the morning and ski-area; also closely located to pizza restaurant and easy to drive to the Intermarche. Combined with great views of Chatel and the mountains (and about 3 m of snow) made us really enjoy our holiday.

Great apartment
An immaculate, very well equipped, warm and comfortable apartment with a surprising amount of storage space for two adults and two untidy teenagers! Both the apartment and the communal areas were clean and very well maintained. Having spent a lot of time in French accomodation this one was really thoughtfully equipped ( sharp knives, decent pans, tea pot and mugs). The seating/beds were comfortable with the added bonus of Sky TV for the kids. The information brochure provided before our visit was really welcome and provided us with everything we needed to know about heating/hot water etc. A car is recommended but by no means essential as the bus route runs past the appartment into town and to the ski lifts. All our communications with the owners have been easy and pleasant. We would recommend this property to friends and family.

Return Visit - Summer time biking
After enjoying our stay during the ski season we had no hesitation in booking again for a summertime cycling break. Again the location is superb, close enough to walk to town but far enough away from all the hustle and bustle to really relax. Despite it being quite warm during our stay the apartment remained very cool and comfortable; nothing worse than finding your accommodation turns into a sauna when the sun comes out! However the balcony is a great sun trap and provided the perfect place to switch off after a hard day biking, especially given the fantastic views down the valley. I've happily recommended the apartment to friends given that it is very well equipped, comfortable and represents excellent value for accommodation in a charming alpine village.

Highly recommended
Very comfortable, clean and well equipped apartment - spacious by French standards i.e. no bunk beds in the hall! Peacefully situated high above Châtel with great views of the village and mountains. This means that a car is really necessary for shopping forays and evening trips into town - unless you still have enough energy for the long uphill walk back. However, the ski bus does stop right outside so could be used for trips to the slopes.
The snow cover was unusually poor during our visit and the local skiing was limited but despite this we were able to enjoy plenty of good skiing from Pres le Joux over to Avoriaz and Switzerland.
The owners information pack provided before the visit was comprehensive and very informative.
Strongly recommend the restaurant Les Cornettes in La Chapelle d'Abondance, the next village a 10 minute drive down the valley. €22 for a quality 4 course meal plus reasonably priced house wine.

Excellent apartment
A very pleasant, modern, clean, well-equipped apartment with fantastic views, yet easily accessible. Everything you could need was provided. Information provided prior to arriving (and provided in the apartment) was very useful and detailed.
We would not hestitate to recommend this apartment to family and friends and would certainly use it again ourselves.
Chatel, a short walk away, is a beautiful place and has everything you could need. The apartment is an excellent base for exploring this area of France/Switzerland.

The perfect alpine getaway...
High up on the valley side the apartment offers spectacular views of the surrounding area. It's only a short walk to town and being off the main roads there are no traffic/noise disturbances. Inside it's well equipped and very comfortable; the shower is powerful with plenty of hot water, sofas & chairs that are perfect for relaxing and beds that make it difficult to drag a bike weary body out of! We had a great time and look forward to returning to try the skiing here next year.
