I needed a place to stay because I was working for a week in Polk County. This house was perfect because it combined comfort and convenience. Everything I could’ve needed was there and was easy to find. The host likes to add something special for the guest but I’m not going to tell you what it was for me because I don’t want to set the bar too high. I would happily return to this wonderful home away from home. Henry K

A wonderful small farm in Independence. Private and caring property owners. We were treated very well and loved the convenience to the surrounding areas we were there to look at and close to family as well. We hope to be back soon.

We planned a surprise 😮 getaway for my daughter and granddaughters during spring break. Took the girls to Enchanted Forest and Chuck E Cheese for some fun around the Salem area. This place was perfect 🥰 The tether ball was a bonus 😉

This is the perfect family lodgings for our family of 5. The open concept floor plan along with the bedrooms and bath were just what we needed. Next time we visit, hopefully they’ll have us!

This was just what we needed to bring our oldest to college. When she wasnt at the dorm/campus, she easily got to us (with her car but its only about 1.5 miles from campus, so walkable too). Enough space we could all do our own things but small enough we were still with each other. We look forward to staying again on future visits to Monmouth.

Look no further…This beautiful cottage is simply amazing. Pictures just do not do justice. First of all, it is so welcoming and laid out, and especially in these times, immaculate. The surroundings are perfect, love that apple tree! So much convenience and beauty combined — the kitchen and that island, well now we want one just like it. ;) Christa was so great to work with and we wished we could’ve stayed longer. Thank you for an amazing stay!

We checked into this cozy little cottage and we’re instantly impressed and felt at home. Immaculately clean, comfortable, and conveniently located on a spacious piece of land not too far away from downtown. We were lucky enough to meet the owner on the property, and she was super friendly and welcoming, a real pleasure to interact with. We enjoyed our stay here very much and recommend this place to anybody looking for a very respectable place to lay your head and relax.

The cottage is located on a farmette on the edge of town and within walking distance of the grocery and a pizza shop. The house came well stocked with more items than anticipated in the kitchen and bathroom. It was a perfect landing place for our family's adventures.

The owners were very nice and accommodating. The house and yard was very clean.

My sister and I really enjoyed our stay. The manager has made sure the cottage is very well stocked and comfortable. The location was convenient to a grocery store and other amenities.

This was the perfect cottage. I really appreciate the attention to detail that the owners thought of. Everything and more was provided for us. I did call the owners once with a question and they were readily available if there was anything we needed. I would highly recommend this place. We loved the chickens, turkey and peacock that we saw. My daughter really enjoyed the back patio area/yard and loved playing teatherball in the side yard. They had a lot of games and books which made it really feel like a home away from home. I would highly recommend this place!

We've had a wonderful stay at Muttley`s cottage. On the first impression, the place is clean, well-lit, well-maintained and very esthetically pleasing overall. I was delighted to find that the kitchen had absolutely everything to make healthy meals from scratch, and non-toxic handssoaps and cleaners. We found thoughtful little things like board games, fiction books, a razor and first-aid supplies in the bathroom. We stayed for a week, and it was great to have a washer and dryer and all the cleaning supplies there, including a mop and a vacuum. The beds were clean and comfortable, and our son loved the bunk beds in one of the bedrooms. The cottage is walking distance to several grocery stores (Waremart and Roth`s Market), and to a park with a playground (Madrona Park, a 20-min walk). We loved watching turkeys, chickens and a peacock through the back yard window. Coming from Alaska, our son was fascinated by the apple tree in front of the house! We appreciated access to Prime and Netflix, as well as Wi-Fi. In other words, we truly felt at home. The owner was highly responsive to the several questions we had. We highly recommend this property, and look forward to staying there again in the future.

This house is complete with all the comforts a traveller would need! The 2-bedroom, 1-bath house is impeccably well-maintained, conveniently located, and has everything a traveler appreciates: coffee, condiments, a fully-equipped kitchen, Hulu/Roku TV, comfortable beds and bedding, fluffy towels and all the toiletries you would need. (Why do some properties skimp on these??) It's quiet yet close to the Independence town center and highways, and convenient to the city of Salem. The coast, the Cascades and the airport are only an hour or so away. We thoroughly enjoyed the property!

Looked like the place had been recently renovated. We had a nice stay here - very comfortable!

The place was perfect for my family (wife & 2 small children). It was pretty clean & updated. We appreciated Christa's hospitality and there are turkeys and chickens in the backyard. Thank you!

We had a very nice overnight stay in this cute cottage. It's comfortable, attractively designed, and had everything we needed. Christa is a great host. Communication was clear and easy. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Perfect location for our purpose of visiting WOU but close to a lot of other attractions as well! House is always very clean and comfortable. Really appreciate the hard work to make our stay comfortable.
