The Whale's Nest. A cute cottage in the heart of Downtown Edmonds.
Ce joli chalet est situé au coeur du centre-ville. Cette propriété unique vous permet de louer des chambres individuelles séparément ou la maison entière (3 chambres / 3 salles de bain) pour un maximum de six personnes. À côté du hall principal, il y a 3 chambres séparées, chacune avec une entrée verrouillée et sa propre salle de bain. Il y a un niveau inférieur à l'arrière de la maison avec une entrée séparée pour un salon avec une kitchenette (évier, lave-vaisselle, réfrigérateur, grille-pain four, SANS FOUR, etc.). Nous sommes situés dans le centre-ville, vous pouvez donc garer votre voiture et vous rendre à pied à toutes les attractions, boutiques et restaurants. C'est une halte idéale avant ou après l'exploration de la péninsule olympique. Nous ne sommes qu'à quatre pâtés de maisons de la traversée Edmonds / Kingston Ferry. Les téléviseurs SMART ne diffusent que des films (NETFLIX, HULA, AMAZON. PAS de câble réseau.)

We had a great stay. There were so many places to eat and explore within a few minutes' walk.

Just a half block from downtown and a few blocks from the ferry to Kingston! Common area strangely in the basement which you access from the rear but it was very private and separate from main floor bedrooms, we liked it!

The advertising for this unit could be more clear to align what the users expect to find verses what is there. The main disconnect for us is that the front door leads into only a small narrow hallway with 3 lockable bedroom doors. The main common area is located in the basement which is accessed only by going back outside the building, around to the other side of the building and down an exterior stair. Most places have the bedrooms off the main common area and there was not enough description to lead us to think that we would get anything different. Trying to hang out with the family required us to go outside the building many times to go between the bedrooms and the common area.

We wanted to spend some sister time together close to the water and Whale's Nest was perfect. There were five of us sisters and each had a birthday in each month from August through December. We did lots of talking, laughing, crying, eating and shopping. An amazing time was had by all. The rooms we excellent. The main gathering room was nice and clean but looked like plans for that area were still in progress. All in all, we really very much enjoyed our stay. I would recommend it to everyone.

My team was attending a function Saturday. This location was amazing . All of the downtown activities were a short walk away. The rooms were nicely appointed and comfortable. Would stay here again.

In the best location for experiencing Edmonds and to be able to walk everywhere without having to rent a car. The community shops, cafes, and restaurants are charming and welcoming. The property has a quirky floorplan, but adequate space, amenities, and privacy for each bedroom. The kitchenette could use a few more utensils, larger glassware, larger coffee mugs, and brighter lighting. Because there are no grocery stores within walking distance, a few more stocked supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and coffee pods would be appreciated. We would definitely stay at the whales nest again and hope to visit next year.

My sisters and I enjoyed our stay. Really comfortable beds. The location is perfect, walkable to beach, shops and eateries. Especially was happy to have parking. We had perfect weather so the lovely garden was a great spot to relax. Thanks, Lance, for the prompt communication.

We loved our stay at The Whale’s Nest and will be sure to book again. The property is charming & thoughtfully appointed, very comfortable and perfectly located downtown. The heated bathroom floors are the cherry on top!

We used Whale's Nest for a UVA reunion over the summer. The Whale's Nest was a perfect location for us near my condo. Loved having three en suite rooms. We socialized and cooked at my condo and used Whale's Nest for additional sleeping accommodations.

We were in Edmonds for a family function which took place near the Ferry dock. The location of the house is perfect for central city activities. We had to get used to the fact that the common area was out the front door, around the building and down the stairs, but it worked out.

Fantastic Location in the heart of Edmonds. Nice accommodation for a group that needs 3 separate bedrooms, each with private bath. The common area / lounge is unfortunately awkwardly set up as if it were an obligatory afterthought - not a cozy inviting area for my group accessible only from a door leading to the basement. But the quality of the 3 bedrooms and overall experience staying at the Wales Nest was great. Without hesitation I would recommend the Wales Nest to friends and family.

It was such a fun stay with friends. Completely walkable to all that makes Edmonds so charming. It was great that there was privacy of rooms and separate bathrooms. Definitely will want to do another weekend stay with friends.

We enjoyed staying at the Whale's Nest Cottage. It was fun and funky. The location could not have been better with many restaurants and shops in easy walking distance as well as lovely views of the sound. The separately locked rooms with bathrooms worked well for our family and the basement entertainment area and kitchenette were as advertised. Great water pressure, lots of hot water and interesting decorations throughout. We had a great time and Lance was responsive and very easy to work with.

Three separate rooms gave us privacy, flexibility. We walked to many restaurants, enjoyed the shops together and at our own pace. The common kitchen area was simple, clean and adequate. We enjoyed the sitting area in the back yard too. The three bikes that were mentioned in the description were not available. Lance was easy to reach if we needed additional instructions. It was a pleasant place to unwind after a big family wedding.

This is a quirky little spot with the most amazing location. The quirkiness is that the rooms are in one area of the home and the “great room” and kitchen are around the back and down below - think daylight basement. There are many photo ops as this place is unique and decorated to match. The backyard provides a wonderful retreat to sit around and enjoy the natural gardens. My only caution is that there are no cozy spots to sit, no comfy couch or soft rugs, and that may be difficult after a day of walking - especially for older ones. Other than that, great location and very cool.

This property was one of the best we stayed at. They provided everything you would need on a vacation. Very clean, managed well and the town was so cute. The bed (King) was comfortable and each room had a bathroom in it. We rented the whole place for the 2 of us, so it was easy to spread out and enjoy ourselves.

This location is everything! We walked to a ton of places- so close to delicious restaurants and great shopping. Lance and Moira were more than accommodating during our stay. The decor and ambience was so cute. It was so nice to each have our own bathroom and the general meeting/common area was open and cool for a hot summer day.

What a gem of a spot! The set up and layout was perfect for our family of 4 and the location could not have been more perfect. Loved the design details and special touches. The lower level common space was a great hangout. And even though there was not a full kitchen, the kitchenette was plenty efficient. Lance made the check in/out process super easy. Will definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The hosts were great with communication and the property is well equipped, albeit a bit smaller than it appears in the pictures. It’s different having to go outside to the kitchen, but it’s well equipped with the basics you need. My kids loved the games, puzzles and the record player. We made sweet memories dancing to The Beatles every morning. The only suggestion I have is to add an automatic lock or some sort of heavier lock at the front door, just so you feel a little bit more safe. My husband wasn’t with us and it was just me and my girls, and so we felt a little bit exposed at night. But it is a very safe neighborhood and a perfect location.
