Great detached property with parking which enables us to walk to North Sands in about 10 mins and 5 mins to town. Beautiful views!

A very good option for staying in central Salcombe with the added unusual bonus of being detached with off street parking. Ideal base for eating out and exploring the coast. Stayed as group of four adults for four nights.

The house is a lovely property consisting of all mod cons. It is in a spectacular location with breath taking views. It is very convenient for all shops, bars/restaurants and the ferry. Any person staying there would have no hesitation in staying there again.

This was our first visit to Orchid House, although we have stayed in Salcombe many times. The house has an amazing position overlooking the estuary, and we enjoyed the ever changing views, and the outside patio was always sheltered from the wind. We stayed as a couple and it was very comfortable for us, we would happily stay there again. Thank you for a great holiday!

This is a beautiful house in an excellent location, we couldn't fault the accommodation at all - many thanks indeed. Everything that's stated in the Vrbo listing is 100% accurate - the house is in a fantastic location, it's wonderfully spacious, the decoration is really beautiful and everything that we could possibly need was there. Without question, the magnificent views from every room are what make it truly glorious. Sight-seeing whilst in pyjamas was the height of luxury! Only two things are worth bearing in mind if booking - neither is enormously problematic, but they did affect us: Firstly, the parking is tricky because it's on a steep slope. Having parking in Salcombe at all is fantastic, but the entrance is tight and reversing on such a steep angle requires serious clutch control. It's all doable, but tricky. Secondly, there is an additional charge for bedding and a single towel each. This is stated in the small print, but I missed it so I was surprised at this extra £68 (optional) charge when it was offered. It was my choice to pay it (I didn't want to bring my own bedding on holiday), but I've stayed at many Vrbo properties and no others have required an extra charge for such essentials. After paying extra, perhaps two towels each would have been pleasant. However, none of this at all had any impact on the house itself, which is truly glorious.

We had a lovely time staying at The Orchid House. The views over the bay were wonderful and the house was clean and cosy. The hosts were welcoming and communicative and the location of the property is great for anyone wanting to explore Salcombe.

Orchid House is elevated and has the most fantastic views of the estuary, is extremely well located with restaurants and shops a stone throw away. However, the drive is very steep and narrow so challenging if you have a large vehicle. The pathway to the property is also steep. We had a wonderful time, thank you to Rory and Heather.

A pleasant experience throughout. Orchid House is situated in an enviable position; overlooking the estuary and in close proximity to the centre and spectacular coastal walks. The house located in the grounds of the Grange provides parking (a bonus and necessity for us), it was extremely clean, has all the facilities of quality accommodation. Finally, the access and egress of Orchid was made easy by the owners through their welcome and efficient communication.

I rented this property for guests for a wedding, and it was great. It was in an excellent location and the views were stunning. It was exactly what we wanted for the long weekend. Rory and Heather were really helpful in the run up to our stay, and we were really grateful for this!

We’ve stayed in Salcombe several times, and have never been disappointed. The house is very comfortable and as there were just two of us we only needed the upper rooms. We can thank Rory for his patient assistance with the WiFi, which, between us we got up and running. The view we had was brilliant, watching the boats sailing in and out of the estuary. Bars and restaurants were just a short walk away, and we enjoyed excellent food in several of them. Thanks Rory and Heather.

Orchid House was just as described, beautiful views & everything we needed. very steep drive and pathway, less nimble please note! Salcombe is a very pretty town with all the shops you need for self catering. Thanks Helen & Rory

We stayed at Orchid House for 3 nights. We were extremely comfortable and happy with the accommodation. The view from the sitting room is just breathtaking overlooking the Estuary. It is only 5 minutes walk to the shops and restaurants but in a quiet spot with parking for 2 cars. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are really comfortable. I don’t think you could improve on the view and location. We hope very much to return in the autumn!

The property is lovely and is suitable for 4 people. We found the sofa and chair not to be very comfortable. Apart from this everything was very acceptable.
