Stylish Cottage, central location with harbour view and double parking
Charmant cottage ouvrier du 19ème siècle, offrant 4 chambres [tous les lits doubles] et 3 salles de bains [2 salles de bains et 1 partagée], récemment rénové [2018], avec de nombreuses caractéristiques de design élégant et décoré dans une ambiance moderne-rustique à un niveau élevé, avec tout le confort moderne. De nombreux éléments d'origine étant conservés ajoutant au charme. Parking privé hors rue disponible pour 2 véhicules [note - le 2ème espace véhicule est disponible à partir de janvier 2020]. Idéalement placé à quelques pas du centre-ville. L'intérieur est bien aménagé avec de belles caractéristiques de conception offrant une expérience de vie confortable. ayant également un jardin clos de pierres pour ces opportunités en plein air.
La propriété a un accès en fauteuil roulant [largeur 60cm] étant limitée au rez-de-chaussée salon et chambre de jardin avec salle de douche attenante. Tous les seuils ont été minimisés pour faciliter l'accès. la propriété a plus de 130 ans et a été construite pour les travailleurs à la fin du 19e siècle pour 20 livres. Nous avons amoureusement rénové et agrandi la propriété pour répondre à toutes les exigences de la vie moderne et du confort de luxe, tout en conservant de nombreux éléments d'origine pour garder l'ambiance du chalet - vous trouverez des murs en pierre d'origine, des planches de sol d'origine restaurées et les escaliers d'origine. Les escaliers sont étroits et relativement raides par rapport aux normes modernes, mais sont facilement accessibles avec soin.
De plus, nous avons ajouté le chauffage au sol aux pièces de vie et de jardin du rez-de-chaussée, aux sols carrelés.
Le logement est très compact mais trompeusement spacieux, ayant conçu les zones pour maximiser la facilité d'utilisation et le confort de vie. Nous espérons que vous apprécierez.

Washing machine moldy and not usable. All beds not made up on arrival despite that being agreed to in advance with the Owner. One of the beds was broken but was jury repaired by the cleaner, not for the first time. Sand in the bath upon arrival.
The photos of the property make it look bigger than it actually is. The garden bedroom has no ventilation or opening windows, thus too hot to sleep in.
Dining and seating area good and outside yard OK.
Overall I would just summarize by saying “renter be aware”.

SUPER lovely and stylish home with great design and great location. Wonderful living room for everyone to hang out and chat. Lovely touches, very attentive housekeeper. Sorry to say one issue was annex 4th room was not the same high quality as the rest of the house: Cramped and water issues (beyond those described in advance by the owner). Suggest only booking main house - truly wonderful there!

We enjoyed staying at 5 Shadycombe cottage. Owner sent lots of useful information by email shortly before stay. The cottage was compact, clean and well equipped. The bathrooms were a little compact. The cottage location and proximity to Salcombe allowed us to walk into town. We found fabulous art store, along with a great bakery for breakfast goods and pasties, in addition fudge, chocolate and ice cream stores all very yummy. Be advised Salcombe itself is not car or wheelchair friendly. We were delighted with The Crabshell in Kingsbridge.

We had a fab time here over New Year with friends. The property is beautifully restored and very well equipped. It is just a short walk to central Salcombe and the very big bonus is parking for 2 cars as parking in Salcombe is really hard to find at this time of year.

We booked this cottage because my daughter was getting married at the nearby Salcombe Harbour Hotel. We arrived on a rather soggy, chilly November day and the cottage was so welcoming! It was so clean, warm and cosy we immediately felt at home. The parking for 2 cars was an added bonus in a town where parking can be tricky. The downstairs layout is very social, the kitchen had everything we needed and thanks to the instructions before we arrived we found everything easily! All the beds were comfortable with good quality bedding. All the bathrooms were warm and stylish. We had 4 generations staying at the same time and even my 85 year old Father managed the steep, tricky stairs. The cottage is 2 mins away from an excellent Co-op and there is an easy 10-15 walk into the centre of Salcombe. We had en excellent Sunday Roast at The Victoria Inn, the rest of the time we ate in the cottage. We would not hesitate to stay again, many thanks to Sarah the housekeeper for her excellent communication.

Lovely property with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is beautifully decorated and we all went home wanted to completely redecorate our houses! Great location and super comfortable. Hosts were very responsive and the communication was great. We loved our stay and had a great time. Would be brilliant if they could look at getting WiFi coverage in the garden annexe room.

We stayed for a family wedding in Salcombe, the cottage was perfect for our 3 generation family. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped and in a peaceful location but still within a few minutes walk of the high street with its lovely shops, pubs and restaurants. Communication with the owner and housekeeper was excellent, parking was a great bonus.

An excellent property in a great location. The garden annex was perfect for my elderly mother who has mobility issues and the main building had everything for a comfortable stay for 2 couples. We did not need to use the attic room. The parking arrangement is fine for two midsize vehicles.
Communication with Tim, the owner, prior to arrival was very good and he sent tons of useful information via numerous emails. The house keeper Sarah was always on hand to deal with questions.
The only issue was we had no internet for the whole week but this was due to an external problem which BT were still trying to fix. Thankfully Sarah stepped in to help out my sister who had a work related task, inviting my sister to her house to enable her to complete an important application form.
I highly recommend this property and wouldn’t hesitate to use it again if we are ever again in the Salcombe area.

The owners communicated with me, via email, in ample time before our checkin with very detailed information about the house, location and things to do in and around Salcombe. We loved the fact that there were USB outlets in all rooms throughout the house. Very clean and well stocked with smoke dishes, pots and pans etc. Sarah, the housekeeper was an amazing help to us. Extremely helpful and responded quickly to all our questions about the house. I would highly recommend this VRBO to anyone wanting to stay in Salcombe. The location was perfect. There is a Co-Op grocery store a few minutes walk away and about a 5 minute walk to the heart of Salcombe and the water. A 5 out of 5 rating for #5 Shadycombe Road.

If you want to be in the heart of the action, yet quiet with great outdoor space and private parking.... this is the cottage for you. It is decorated to a high standard, lots of space and the hosts and housekeeper go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. A wonderful holiday, great location ......can't wait to come back :-)

The cottage was lovely, we could not fault it, but out of season we found Salcombe a little disappointing The shops were only open , Friday Saturday and Sunday some of the restaurant had not yet reopened and be prepared for London prices

A lovely property designed beautifully in a great location in salcombe town. Benefitted from parking although it can take some manovering. Only things i felt could be improved on was to have atleast a toilet roll upon arrival (we had to rush straight out). And that i was quite overwhelmed by the amount of emails and house rules upon booking, we really only required address and key code.

The property is smartly finished and well-decorated throughout, and superbly placed to enjoy Salcombe and the surrounding area. The bus stop and the local shops are extremely handy, and there are lovely walks directly from the doorstep. It all enabled us to have a great holiday.

Fantastic house, superb location
Really nice house, very stylish and comfortable. Plenty of room for the family. Location is superb, 5 minute walk to centre of Salcombe, ferry etc. Loads of restaurants and cafes nearby, well stocked CoOp 2 minutes away. The home owner gave lots of useful information and the housekeeper was very helpful and responded to queries quickly. Would definitely stay again.

Quirky & Tasteful Design
This property is very well designed to incorporate the age and stone features. It is in a perfect location close to all amenities. The family all loved the property. The bedrooms are extremely cosy and comfortable. The owner together with the cleaners have thought of everything to make your stay extremely happy.
These times of Covid have been very difficult for everyone and you have to work hard to achieve the results for everyones benefit.
We hired a paddle board to try out and together with the house kayak we had a fantastic family time on the beach. I feel this property is excellent value for money and hope to return again.
