Récemment rénové à un niveau très élevé, Clare Cottage est une maison mitoyenne en pierre construite dans le Lakeland, située au centre du magnifique village d'Ambleside. Avec un hébergement sur 3 étages, le chalet offre un hébergement suffisant pour 6 personnes, il est trompeusement spacieux. Le confort traditionnel, tel qu'un poêle à bois, est complété par un mobilier contemporain, de nouvelles salles de bains et une cuisine. Les niveaux supérieurs offrent une vue magnifique sur l'avant et l'arrière de la propriété. Avec toutes les commodités d'Ambleside à votre porte, y compris des magasins et restaurants ainsi que des promenades pour tous les niveaux, une voiture n'est pas indispensable.

My family and I had a great stay at Clare Cottage. With an absolutely perfect location, we could walk to many restaurants within a few minutes. Parked the car for the week and used the buses which were frequent and inexpensive, would definitely come back.

Ambleside was hit with an unexpected heavy snowfall and roads were closed and hundreds of cars were stranded making it impossible for us to make our VRBO the first night. Management is unwilling to refund our first nights stay even thou we were told to turn around by mountain rescue

Ambleside is beautiful and this cottage is a great base to explore the Lake District. We had a wonderful 6-night stay. Excellent communication with the landlord both before and during the stay made it easy to get settled in and enjoy the holiday.

Lovely cottage, clean, spacious and well equipped. It was central to Ambleside shops and restaurants, everything was a short 2 minute walk away.
We were a family of 5 and found it very comfortable.

This was a great spot to enjoy Ambleside. Moments walk from any place you’d like to go in town and the Town itself is central to awesome walks and hikes in any direction. Place was very clean upon arrival and owner was very responsive to any needs. We loved the place and really enjoyed the fireplace in the evening after hikes. Would love to come back.

Great location for everything Ambleside has to offer. As others have noted, getting parked on the street is pretty much impossible but didn’t cause a major issue for us. Cottage was very well heated & cosy. Didn’t really use the kitchen other than for breakfast so can’t comment on how well equipped it is but seemed to have everything you’d need.

Clare cottage was wonderful. The kitchen and both bathrooms seemed recently remodeled and are very nice, especially the one with a heated floor! The cottage was just two minutes from restaurants and coffee shops but on a quiet street.

Delightful cottage ,decorated and furnished beautifully with everything we could want . Great position close to shops, pubs and restaurants of Ambleside. An ideal base for walkers we didnt use the car after arrival till the day we departed.

Charming well located cottage
We loved this property & the quality / facilities made us all feel relaxed & at home. The location in the middle of town made it easy to go out & use the local restaurants / shops. When we come back to the Lake District we will definitely want to rent this property again.

Lovely cottage, beautifully presented, in incredible location
Couldn't be better, unless you need a garden or outside space. Three very spacious bedrooms (one en suite), really nice lounge diner, well-equipped kitchen, and it's slap in the middle of Ambleside. Even has a parking permit which is really helpful. Highly recommended.

Wonderful cottage
The description and photos of this cottage don’t do it justice. It is even more charming in person! We were four adults from Washington, DC. Clare Cottage was a delight - clean, comfortable, cozy, and updated appliances and amenities.
We were able to park on street and walk everywhere! We ate tasty tapas around the corner and did Chinese take away one night. We were glad to have a grocer and a pharmacy at the end of the block. We walked (a short walk) to the pier to take a boat ride on Lake Windermere. We also drove to Grasmere one day to hike and eat gingerbread. We were always happy to return to Clare Cottage at the end of the day!

Nice little cottage in an excellant location. Parking is an issue in the whole of ambleside but free off street parking only 5 mins walk away. Owner was always response to queries. Would recommend.

Lovely Cottage in Great Location
Beautifully presented cottage. We, a group of 4 adults and 3 children, stayed here in Feb 19. We found it spacious, bright, comfortable and clean. The interior has recently been refurbished to a high spec, with modern kitchen and bathrooms. You are a 2 minute walk into Ambleside and all it has to offer. We highly recommend the Chinese takeaway called Lucky Dragon, and also had an excellent meal at Tweedies in Grasmere. We walked up Orrest Head, High Sweden Bridge, Todd Crag, and Easedale Tarn, all of which are local child-friendly walks. I’d especially recommend Todd Crag which has excellent views of Windermere, although make sure you have a map and compass as the paths are unclear.
