Before booking, note the property requires a 200€ deposit via bank transfer. they claim it is because of a nice tv and nespresso maker. have stayed at properties with these amenities with no deposit required. the Deposit requirement is HIDDEN under all the Covid-19 restrictions.

Very practical Flat, well located.

We arrived and there was only 1 chair when it’s a flat for 2 people. Had to ask for one more. No kitchen towels or washing product for the dishes. No shampoo or shower gel. Dust in the flat and dirty windows. No curtains, do there is not much privacy from neighbours at night. The terrace is shared with the neighbours but not indicated. For a 200£ caution which asks to clean, I think the flat should offer all amenities to clean.

Communication was not good. Had to ask for the check-in details. Was sent a jumble of numbers and letters with no instructions on what was what or which codes or part codes to use on the front door or the apartment door. Kitchen was poorly stocked. No cups. No forks. One spoon. Had to go to the store next door and buy cutlery, cups and coat hangers. Apartment next door shared our balcony and could see right into our bedroom if we left the shutters up. That apartment was let to three male workers who came home at about 3am each morning and sat on the balcony less than 1 metre from our bed and smoked, drank and talked loudly every morning! We could not wait to leave! We gave up communicating our frustration with the manager as we were in a group of three families who had all experienced poor service from the manager. These apartments are really not suited to leisure travellers (especially apartment 5) as surrounding apartments are let to guest workers.

So impolite and unfriendly staff I have not seen for a very long time. After booking you will be asked to pay a deposit of 200€ to a german bank account. Seriously? I have not seen anything like that before and I had to wait a week to get my money back after escalating it first with booking.com. The flat reeked of cigarettes and the sheets and the towels smelled of mustiness. Hideous. I was not sure if there're washed at all. The bathroom was dirty and there were hair all over the place. See the pictures attached. The whole flat had not been cleaned at all. The floor was sticky and all tables were dirty too. I did not feel well in this place. The flat had a shared balcony with another flat so if you want some privacy you can forget it. It's located on the main street so if you open windows you're not able to sleep at night given that the flat has no air-conditioning. The Internet didn't work most of the time either. Normally I don't write so long and detailed comments but the woman was so unfriendly and I want you to think twice before booking it for a price of 90€ a night.

The daily rental charge was very reasonable for the value and location! The apartment was modern, spacious with push button shades, lots of windows/light, nice balcony, large bathroom with great shower, well equipped/modern kitchen with great fridge, stove and dishwasher and china/glasses and utensils; good TV, WiFi, comfortable beds and sofa and excellent location in Hilden center - within close walking distance of restaurants, bakeries and stores. And had good washer/dryer in basement. Responsiveness by owner/host to address some issues and questions was generally good, but not great.

The bathroom had no cabinets or minimal shelves to place toiletries; had a broken toilet paper holder (which was promptly replaced with a new one); shower lacked shelving on wall to store soap and shampoo. The living room only had a cheap,plastic, relatively small white table in front of the sofa. The door security key pads and codes (for apartment and building) were a bit difficult and cumbersome to use and took some practice. Our apartment was on first floor and bedroom faced front of building on a very busy city street which could be noisy (with open windows) with cars, and trucks making deliveries to stores in early morning, trash pickups etc. There were no written instructions for using anything including dishwasher, security key pads, washer & dryer and electronic shades. We’re Americans and can’t read German. Finally, the owner/host could have been a little more (customer service) friendlier to deal with in obtaining answers, providing information or dealing with some issues that came up. This may seem like a long list, but we rented it for two weeks.

No bin in the bathroom and one has to take the rubbish out (no instructions left where to put it)

You need a Code to enter room and boarding house. Was given by phone and email immediately after request. I will choose this location for sure again.

I liked everything about the place . My host was very respectful and responsive at all time. The place was super clean and spacious. Beautiful street view!!. sound proof windows and great lighting systems in all the rooms. Morden window blind roller wow!! very stylish. The best restaurants 'Blue Monkeys is just at the right side of the main entrance door. One minute walk to different types of super markets eg; Aldi , Neto, Bio etc. I will surely visit again !!

Am Kronengarten is a modern and generously sized studio apartment in a great location. Positioned in the middle of Hilden, there are shops and restaurants at your doorstep. Keyless entry is a bonus, and secure on- premises parking is available at a small extra charge.

The apartment is very sparsely furnished, and could do with a comfortable lounge chair and some pictures on the wall. It also needs curtains, as there is a shared balcony with the next apartment, and you can look straight into each other's living space when the shutters are open.
