It was a 10 minute walk to The West Riding Refreshment Rooms. The shower was effective.
The venue was noisy and reeked of cannabis. The staff didn't seem interested. The room was damp and there was evidence of smoking both tobacco and cannabis. The lead on the kettle would not reach the plug. The chemical toilet was noisy and others could be heard at a regular interval throughout the night.
All in all, a dreadful place and one that you should consider withdrawing from your lists.

The location, friendly staff and value for money. Cheap street parking overnight outside the hotel.
The only thing I did not like was the mattress which needs replacing.

Great location
The property was false advertisement. The arrival at the property was horrendous it smelled of urine and you had to walk through the dark and dingy and smelly. We had to go through pub full of drunken people and I did not feel safe. The room was mix match bedding, the carpets was dirty and dusty. The bathroom was clean but all the pictures for the room was not what we saw in a real life. I wouldn’t recommend this stay we left and had to rebook a new hotel. Very upsetting as this was non refundable booking.

Chelsea and Kirsty are hard working, straight talking northern chicks running this pub, clean beer lines, good cheap beer and a lively atmosphere. You don’t see pubs like this anymore down south.
Candice the evening barmaid was an absolute cad, she made me pay 40pence for a dash of lime that the girls gave me for free.
And she stole my shoelaces while I wasn’t looking. She needs to be tied to a West Country S***house. That said I’d defo go there again

Nice comfortable bed in a nice new refurbished room. Delicious cooked breakfast. Gill one of the staff was so friendly and helpful.
Did not see the owners at all. Seems they leave other people to run the BnB and pub. Stank of weed as you enter the corridor to the rooms. Need to get a spring on the 2nd door as you enter the pub, It`s Constantly banging ,not very quiet.Rooms could do with a good dusting and remove cobwebs, mirror in our bathroom nearly smashed as it was balanced on a shelf, Back entrance is full of rubbish that is attracting insects, not nice as we had to walk this way many times.

Got there, and immediately regretted it. Parked my car, and thought twice about getting out, for my own safety. Braved it out, entered the bar door to be asked by a patron, clearly on drugs if I was a barrister, because he needed one. He then followed me around bar...
Then they had no key for me, had to hang around uncomfortably waiting, amongst the throng of drunks. (This was 6pm on a tuesday)
Went to room, and it smelt, well of lard, floors where sticky, toilet did not work, and so much noise.
I'm not someone who will not go to a bar, but decided to go food elsewhere, on my arrival back, the woman on the street told me good luck if my car would still be there in the morning undamaged.
Went back and hid in room, until morning, with a TV that did not work, to the noise of street brawls outside.
I really think I deserve a 'I survived the Wellington tavern' certificate

Quite a nice room for the price. The ensuite shower and toilet was great. The breakfast itself was nice.
Being a pub it was very, very noisy on arrival. The room was nice but the rest of the pub and the area around it was quite dirty. Everything smelt of cigarets and I ate my breakfast in the bar which had all sorts of litter from a party from the previous night. The people serving me breakfast (whilst very friendly) were smoking in the bar which made me feel sick. Leaving the pub from the rear (as instructed to do) one is confronted by soiled, discarded mattresses, swarms of flies and cigaret butts all over the place. The front of the pub is also littered with cigaret butts. I also had a terrible nights 'sleep' as a disco was booming out nearby till about 2am.

Friendly, helpful, honest, jolly team, friendly visitors and customers.
Lost money and it was found and returned after we'd checked out.
Returned at 10.55pm and all was locked up after being told the bar would be open until 11pm.

A lovely warm welcome, spacious room, lovely breakfast and very nice staff.
It was very noisy, the room was very hot and the bed was not comfortable. There are no restaurants open in the evening ( we had to get a taxi to Batley to find a sit down meal) and the town was pretty much closed on the Sunday.

Friendly people - good price and location for where we wanted to go. Everything within 5 minute walk. Good breakfast. Bathroom clean with good shower. Quiet for a town centre pub. Cheap overnight parking 3 mins walk away. Just what we wanted for our stay.
Decor was tired and bed uncomfortable. Would suggest the stairs to rooms a bit difficult to negotiate without full mobility.

The Wellington tavern is an old building and a little dated, all rooms are above the pub. You can access your rooms from the pub or from the fire escape, there is a key for you to be able to open the fire door which has to be used after 11pm. If your looking for somewhere central and reasonably priced and don’t mind lots of noise and rowdy people then this is for you. The room I stayed in was very spacious, comfortable and clean with fresh linen, fresh towels and a kettle, tea, coffee etc . The bed was ok and there was a descent size wardrobe for hanging clothes. The bathroom was spotless and the shower is descent, there’s plenty of loo roll and hand soap. There was also a tv which I never used and a small sofa. I slept like a log even missing my breakfast on the second day. The breakfast I did have was a full english and was cooked fresh which I enjoyed. Jill the housekeeper is lovely anything you need she will accommodate if she can. All staff were friendly and helpful.
The one real problem I had was with all the stairs but that is a me problem as I have dodgy knees so if you can’t do lots of stairs then maybe look elsewhere. Also it doesn’t cater for disabled people.
Under the fire escape are a stack of old mattresses they look unsightly and could be a potential fire hazard something the owner needs to rectify.

I was really impressed with the room.. It was very clean and comfortable with a decent, powerful shower. It was more modern than I was expecting to be honest. Very reasonable price as well
Although the location is in the Town Centre it's not great for Parking. Also be prepared for a bit of noise as the rooms are above a busy pub but it's to be expected.

Everything really but the shower only pumped out stone cold water !!
We informed the staff when we checked out but they didn’t offer us anything in lieu of what us quite a major part of the package in my opinion
Very noisy on arrival at 19.00hrs but we made allowances as we were directly above a very lively pub.
Thought that parking would have been better… Sunday is the only day you would want to wake up there and not have a ticket on your car, so we picked the only good day to be in that area by pure luck !!
