Tastefully renovated room in quiet street within easy walking distance from the station and the city centre.

Creaky plastic toilet seat!

Good check-in & communication when we arrived from the Owner. A bonus to be able to baggy the only parking space right outside the property ....there is a charge of £5 per day...but we wanted to know our car was safe outside. Apparently there is free parking in the next road along, but we got lucky to stay right outside. Shower nice & hot, with ample space. King-size bed was nice. Tea, coffee facilities good. Tidy, comfortable, spacious....in the King room. Accommodation about a 12 minute walk away from Bootham Bar..../main town & shops....not a bad walk.

The fact that on our 2nd day of being there & out for most of the day sight-seeing, when we returned to our room we found that the carpet was damp. When we called the Owner to enquire as to why, he advised that he had been into our room to get them wet-vacc'ed over! This shouldn't be done when you have guests still staying in the room, with personal belongings out, thinking your room is locked safe (as we didn't ask for bedroom clean around/replacement towels etc). If he had left a note pinned to our door outside to advise that he had been in, this would have saved our time in having to call him up to ask why they were wet! Also not good that the floor remained damp for the rest of the evening, meaning we had to have high heat on with the radiator to try to dry it out!!! To be honest this should have been rearranged to a time when you don't have guests staying in a particular room....NOT whilst they are booked in. We were based on the ground floor & suffered hearing an extremely noisy toilet flushing on the floor above us. To utilise the bathroom fan...you need to be be around 7ft tall just to reach the switch...either that or stand on a chair!

Fantastic place to stay. The host was so welcoming, extremely friendly and very helpful. I love york and next time I go I will be checking the availability here. Close enough to the centre, nice clean comforatable rooms. Very happy with our stay and we look forward to returning.

Everything was excellent at the accommodation the staff were brilliant and the room very clean and comfortable, I will definitely be visiting again.

Just the distance to the centre, fine for able body people but I'm bad at walking due to vascular problems in my legs and hip,this has no reflection on the accommodation as that was first class.

The accommodation was extremely clean and comfortable. There was facilities to make a hot drink in the room. The hosts were friendly and knowledgeable. They shared information about the local area to help with our stay in York. Close to the centre but in a quiet area. Highly recommended.

Accommodation is very close to York centre, room was clean and tidy, plenty of tea and coffee, access to kitchen to make your own breakfast etc. parking on street for a small daily fee.

The location, perfect for walking from railway station and close to the centre of York. Was in attic room (room 9, twin room) and it was lovely and quiet, no upstairs neighbours. Room spacious and clean. Lovely fluffy towels, toiletries supplied. Coffee machine with unlimited supplies. Shared kitchen availability but I didn't use it. Welcoming and knowledgeable host.

I found the bed a bit uncomfortable but that's more to do with my back I think. Could have done with a firmer mattress.

The hosts were welcoming & most helpful. It was delightful to have a friendly person meet you on arrival . Kitchen facilities were a welcome addition to the booking. Clean .

The hosts were warm and welcoming- putting the visitor first. Conveniently situated to city centre and Clifton (10 minute walk). In Clifton there is a great pub/ restaurant (OGM) and a cafe - Bella's Kitchen , serving hearty breakfasts.

Having to leave after just one day

we were surprised the vikings offered us and the other guests use of The Fridge and use of their Kitchen facilities as they didn't offer a food option, I don't think i noticed it in the Vikings infomation when we booked. A lovely welcome we would recommend to others and we woul stay there again

Great location, not too far from the city centre. Lovely host & very welcoming. Comfortable bed, quiet room at rear of property. Nice hot shower. Tea/coffee facilities with extra provisions downstairs if needed. Very clean throughout. We can certainly recommend this lovely B&B. Parking outside when available or just round the corner.

Noah was very friendly he shown us where the hospital was .which was a ten minute walk and a lot easier than driving. Lots of tea coffee sweets nice and clean really friendly

Small snacks would have been nice or biscuits to have with tea and coffee. Some biscuits but if these were replenished it would have been fab or available for us to help ourselves as it was great that we could help ourselves to tea coffee and milk
