We recently spent time at A Home On The Harbor. What a Lovely Place!
The Home is very bright and beautiful with lots of windows and natural light. Views of the Harbor are gorgeous! We enjoyed a spectacular fireworks display from the comfort of the front deck. The layout of the home is big enough that your family can spread out. There are several doors for access from the top or bottom level, and the beach is only steps away. The Home on A Harbor is decorated with a breezy beach vibe and has plenty of board games available for family time. The beds are extremely comfortable with soft sheets and lots of blankets, and the bathrooms are spacious with luxurious towels. My favorite part of the Home is the Kitchen….it is equipped with everything you could ever need to make your family anything from snacks to a full Thanksgiving dinner. The views from the kitchen are just as beautiful as they are from the living room.
Mishele is very accommodating and easy to reach if you have any questions. She has provided a binder filled with information about the island, along with recommendations of sites to visit and places to eat.
I would highly recommend A Home on The Harbor…..one of the nicest places I’ve ever visited.

My family and I stayed here for our kids spring break this year. We were impressed with how clean and tidy the property was, especially considering that pets were allowed. Our mini dachshund felt right at home, and she’s probably the pickiest of us all!
Having the water so close was a blast for the kids, and the location was extremely convenient with the grocery store a 3 minute drive away, Langley 15 minutes away, and the ferry something like 20 minutes south. It’s also quite close to wineries and the state parks on the island. All in all a great find that we would love coming back to.

We stayed here last weekend with another couple. We stayed here once before and absolutely loved it. There's plenty of room for two families. Highlights for us were the beautiful view of the bay, the wood stove, and the well-stocked kitchen. Both couples commented that we wish our kitchens at home were as well-equipped. The house is well-maintained. The bedrooms are nicely decorated and the beds are comfy. There is also a lot to do in the area. Greenbank Farm, Spoiled Dog Winery, the Pacific Northwest Naval Air Museum in Oak Harbor. One of the most interesting places we visited was the Price Sculpture Forest in Coupeville. Be sure to scan the QR codes at the beginning for the augmented reality art. We were all blown away by it. We all give A Home on the Harbor two thumbs up!

I had the pleasure of renting this most perfect VRBO for my son and his little family for 3 nights. The home comes very equipped for young children safety gates, portable crib etc. Very well thoughout. House was very clean and also very welcoming. Stocked with all necessary supplies. They look forward to another stay there in the future.
Walk right to the beach and also new playground park. Location, location. This place has it all. A real gem of a place. Thank you Mishele and Benjamin.

We love staying at Home on the harbor as our home base for family reunions on Whidbey. The house is so full of light, views and has perfect spaces for cooking and entertaining. The views of the sunsets and hoot owls at night are memorable along with daily walks along the beach. Our home away from home and Mishele is the perfect host. If you like a beautifully kept home cared for with attention to detail, this is the place to rent.

Our stay at the house was fantastic for our extended family, and Mishele was an excellent host. We had so much fun exploring everything that Whidbey has to offer. The house was clean, spacious, nicely decorated, and well-maintained. It also had all the cookware we needed to make some nice meals. The kids had a blast roasting s'mores at the fire pit one night. Having a bedroom with two bunk beds allowed the kids to have their own beds while still sharing a room, which was ideal (and not always easy to find). We would stay here again.

We had the best time. Everything we needed was supplied for our 10 day stay. So much to do the kids didn’t miss having a TV. Everything was perfect. I would love to return again in the future.

A Home on the Harbor was the perfect place for a little family get-a-way. The house was beautifully furnished and the beds were very cozy. We loved that there were no TVs in the house which allowed us to truly connect as a family without screens. Our "Kids" (ages 20 & 21) loved all the board games and stayed up late playing battleship. We loved sitting on the back deck and walking down to the beach. Mishelle was an excellent host who was very flexible and communicated regularly with us.
We would definitely book this house again!

We recently spent a wonderful time in The Home on the Harbor. The house was immaculate, the neighborhood quiet, with a nice view of Holmes Harbor. It's a wonderful spot to relax, take walks along the beach, and shopping nearby which includes, but not limited to antiques, coffee cafes, and a well stocked grocery store. If you like to bird watch, there are nearby parks along the water as well as forest parks. While there we counted approximately 43 species. We look forward to returning sometime in the future.

Mishele is a wonderful host. Easy to communicate with, thoughtful and responds right away.
The view and location to the beach can’t be beat. The place is spotless and the kitchen is well stocked which we appreciated. We felt like we were at home, not a rental.
The beds and pillows were so comfy. My husband usually complains about these two things wherever we stay but not this time.
We loved our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

The house is beautiful! It was very clean, well stocked, just steps from the beach and the views were gorgeous. We enjoyed our time exploring the beach, spotting bald eagles, seals, and deer. The house is conveniently located, close to restaurants, grocery stores, etc. in Freeland and just a short drive to Langley and Coupeville. Mishele, our host, was incredibly helpful, communicative, and generous. We couldn't have asked for a better home and host!

We had a wonderful relaxing, quiet, and cozy trip. The house was perfect, great views, well stocked with essentials and games/puzzles. Check in/out was easy, Mishele was very welcoming. Would stay here again on our next trip to Whidby Island.

First off, the management of this property is excellent. Mishele and Ben were very responsive to any questions that arose both before and during our stay, and they were extremely prompt in all of their responses. Moreover, the instructions on how to get to and use the house were easy to understand and thorough. Everything felt well thought out without being rigid. They even gave us a late checkout without us asking, which was very kind!
The property itself is a great size with a lot of sleeping options for larger parties. The kitchen had everything we needed and more without feeling cluttered. The living areas and deck were spacious and open with amazing views of the water. It's close to lots of things to do, food, groceries, etc.
We would be delighted to stay here again.

We had a great stay here. The views are beautiful and the house was well stocked. Mishele was very attentive and sent us a message upon arrival as well was available throughout our stay if we had any questions. The beds are very comfortable and the books and games available for use were a nice bonus. My only recommendation would be to add blinds/drapes to the main window by the dining table, the sun was strong during dinner hours and some shade there would be handy. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Great house!
We had a great time staying at A Home On the Harbor. The house is comfortable, very well equipped and had everything we needed for our party of 6. You can't beat sitting on the deck and looking at the view. We loved seeing the bald eagles, deer and bunnies. Mishele was a great host and quickly answered any questions that we had.

WOW !!
What a wonderful vacation home. Beautiful setting with views over the water. There were only four of us so there was plenty of space both inside and out on the deck, with access down to the beach. Not far from local amenities and within walking distance of Freeland Hall which was great as we had a wedding to attend.
Our host Mishele was extremely helpful with information on what to do and where to visit and was always quick to respond to any questions we had.
Would thoroughly recommend A Home on the Harbor, sadly we weren't there long enough to get the full use of all the facilities but would definitely use again if we come back to Whidbey.

Warm and Welcoming
One of my favorite things to do in Hawaii is to sit out on a lanai with a good cup of coffee and watch the sun come up on the ocean. Freeland on Whidbey Island isn’t Hawaii, but sitting at a beautiful dining room table surrounded by large windows looking out at Holmes Harbor is about as close as we’re going to get in the Pacific Northwest. My wife and I spent three nights there this past weekend and had some beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We were both struck by how quiet it was and how dark the night really is when there are no city lights nearby. The home is in great shape, thoughtfully decorated, and very welcoming. The kitchen is updated (I loved the tall cutting board countertop) and well-stocked with basic supplies (like olive oil and spices) if you decide to eat in. The owners have gone above and beyond making sure guests would have everything they need, including things like band aids and hydrogen peroxide. We didn’t use the downstairs half, but there is room in the house for two families, with two master bedrooms and two living rooms. The house is surrounded by spacious decks which would be great in warmer seasons. We didn’t get down to the beach below the house as my wife just had surgery on a broken ankle, but it is a stone throw away and looks lovely. We built a fire in the fireplace each evening and played Scrabble. The guest book has a lot of great suggestions for things to do in the local area. Payless, the local grocery store (3 minutes away) is really good. We visited the Spoiled Dog Winery one afternoon, and had dinner at nearby Gordon’s on Blueberry Hill our last night (great food, service and price, with a beautiful sunset on top of it all). We would definitely stay at A Home on the Harbor again.

Family Reunion
We love the home on the harbor! This is our third year renting from these wonderful owners, and we love coming to Whidbey for family reunion time every August. The house is beautifully clean and decorated. The windows allow for so much light and screens for breeziness. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and eating inside or outside allows for enjoying the amazing view. I enjoyed fresh picked blackberries in my morning smoothies from the bushes near the house. The beach is a few steps away for walking at low tide. Mishele is super attentive and responsive if anything comes up. We find it a very relaxing, comfortable and soothing place to stay.

Gorgeous views!
Gorgeous views from the spacious wrap around deck. Quick walk down the path to the beach. Fun playground 5 minutes away for the grandkids. The kitchen is outfitted with so many amenities not found in the VRBO’s we have stayed at before. Stayed here for two weeks and hated to leave this peaceful property on Whidbey.

Kid-friendly, clean, & everything you could possibly need!
What a wonderful home, location, and homeowner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay including three adults and four children, ages 9-2. You will find absolutely everything you need already provided in this home. We even forgot candles to celebrate our two-year-olds birthday with cake, and we found some in the kitchen cabinet! I did not think to bring sand toys, and did not ask. Mishele read my mind and told us about the outdoor toys in the shed!
The home is right on the harbor and the description is accurate; the path there is short and easy. We played on the beach every day at high and low tide and all hours of the day. Watch out for slurpy ground that may steal your sandals as you chase toddlers. It was also a lovely surprise that a three minute walk on the harbor leads to a nice playground and park. My kids made friends everywhere we went; everyone is so friendly.
There are carpeted steps between the top and bottom floors of the home and the rail has open spaces. However, Mishele provides a baby gate and baby fence in the closet downstairs, so we were able to baby/toddle-proof this area and we felt totally comfortable. This closet also included many other handy baby/toddler amenities such as a high chair, a potty seat, and step stools. There is also a pack-n-play with linens. We found a noise machine in the closet. This was more child gear in a rental than we had ever experienced before, and it was super helpful.
Mishele and her family are warm and friendly. Mishele replies immediately and has great suggestions. We look forward to staying at Home on the Harbor again and again.

A true Haven on the Harbor
Had a wonderful time at this lovely home. It was comfortable, quiet, had a well supplied kitchen, gorgeous views, easy parking, nice beds and bedding, and is located in a perfect location. The wildlife around the house offered excellent entertainment. The firepit was great fun and being able to walk and sit on the beach enhanced our mini vacation. Highly recommend A Home on the Harbor.

Holmes Harbor House
Having rented homes on Whidbey Island for many years, this is by far the best one yet! The owners thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. We were met upon arrival with a local bottle of wine and Pelligrino which we enjoyed on the deck looking out at the spectacular view of the harbor. The kitchen is well stocked. The beds are comfy with black out shades greatly appreciated with a 5 year old who wakes up at first light. The beach access was close and easy, perfect for a kayak launch which we were happy we brought with us. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, the birds chirping, the eagles flying overhead. Having the house in Freeland is perfectly situated on the island for access to anywhere you want to go. We really can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful family vacation
Our family of five with two pups had a great time staying at this cozy house by the water. The beach was right out back for our dogs to play and then there was plenty of hiking closeby. Mishele was a great and thoughtful host and even offered us late check-out, which we so appreciated. I look forward to returning with our paddle boards during the summer.

Wonderful home with a beautiful view, just a few steps to the shore
Our family and friends had an amazing weekend! The wood stove, the big dining room table and open kitchen made for many moments together, sharing food and playing board games. The walk to the beach is very short, the Puget Sound is literally in the backyard. We will absolutely be back. Great vacation home for kids and families traveling together.

I can think of no way this stay could have been improved. The property is exactly as represented: immaculate, well organized, functional, comfortable, nicely decorated, and of course, beautiful views. Mishele, so warm and welcoming, made check-in a breeze, and was quick to answer any questions. Everything needed for a stay is in this home, and I mean everything. A lovely experience. Well-appointed house with beach access
Very easy and quick access to the rocky beach - my kids spent hours throwing rocks into the ocean, collecting shells and splashing around. Very short walk to the playground and park. We rented kayaks that were delivered to the house. Nice harbor to paddle around with the kids. The kitchen was well-stocked with a deck where we enjoyed family meals watching a gorgeous sunset. Mishele was an impeccable host, leaving wine, sparkling water and a very helpful list describing local attractions.

Wonderful host
Mishele is one of the best hosts we have had. She was very communicative and kind, even after we accidentally damaged something in the house. House was a good size for our family of four and we were comfortable. We loved our view of the ocean. Just note that while house is comfortable, bathrooms are not luxurious/modern. Beds very comfortable. Freeland is about 10 km away from Langley, which is a very quaint and fun town.
