Lovely setting on the banks of the Dordogne river. Beautiful gardens with pond and swimming pool. Rooms clean and beds comfortable. The breakfast was delicious including homemade jams and cakes. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Easy walk along the river to the town and restaurants.

Thank you for telling us about the wonderful Bastille Day fireworks celebration. Don't forget to visit the amazing medieval city of St Emilion, just a 15 minute drive away.

Clos Bernon is a tiny bit of heaven that borders the river in a bucolic and peaceful part of France. The view was extraordinary! Our rooms were spotless; the bathrooms were brand new. Eveline made a beautiful breakfast for us and wanted to please us in every way. This is true France; the kindest people, the most beautiful settings, and service of the highest degree. Everything was perfect

Clos Bernon was perfect for my needs - solo traveller taking part in a five-day sporting (rowing) event in Libourne. This family-run bed-and-breakfast accommodation was very comfortable, spacious and well-equipped, with modern fixtures and fittings in good working order. I travelled by car and had no difficulty finding the property with the help of Google maps. Evelyne, the lady of the house, was both hospitable and thoughful, and I can only describe my stay as absolutely first-class. On days when I needed an early start, an early breakfast was on offer, and on my one leisure day, Evelyne was able to offer advice on local wineries to visit and other places of interest in the Saint Emilion area - around half an hour's drive away. Breakfast was filling and varied, featuring local cheeses, jams and breads with traditional French pastries. Although the property has no bar or formal restaurant, there is a communal pay-by-the-bottle wine fridge/cupboard, so relaxing on the patio by the pool with a glass in hand is both convenient and uncomplicated. Eating out in Libourne and the surrounding areas calls for a car or a taxi, as it's around a half-hour walk to the city centre. That said, there's plenty of choice within easy driving distance! Parking at the property is secure and free. I would recommend Clos Bernon without hesitation to anyone who wants to spend a few days in a peaceful, unhurried and welcoming part of the Bordeaux wine-growing region.

There's very little to fault. For travellers with limited mobility, the after-hours entrance to my first-floor rooms involved using a steep set of external stairs which might prove tricky for some. I don't know if there are any ground-floor rooms.

Great breakfast and welcoming host

Very nice bedroom with modern en-suite, quality bed linen and towels. Very good breakfast including homemade treats and jams, served on the terrace overlooking the beautiful garden and pool. Very friendly hosts. Great selection of wines available in wine fridge was an added bonus when we fancied an evening picnic in the garden.

Access to bedroom from the outside staircase is a bit precarious. Inside stairs available at check in and checkout were perfect for carrying luggage, would be more comfortable to use at all times. Given that we stayed during a heatwave we could have done with air conditioning.

The location was exceptional - so calm and beautiful. The room was comfortable and stylish. The breakfast was delicious (especially all the homemade treats) and there was so much variety. The owners were friendly and went out of their way to help us however they could, including speaking English when our French failed us. I would definitely recommend this b&b to anyone!

The owner was very kind and welcoming. The house was very clean and the room was large and very nicely renovated and decorated. our toddler loved the breakfast and watching the chickens and turtles in the yard.

The house is beautifully located, quiet and lovely beside the river, with a very nice lawn and a pool, which we didn't use. Our hostess made us a very nice breakfast with fresh fruit and home baked breads. Our stay was great.

Clos Bernon is a superb family run B&B, perfect to escape crowd and noise. The host Evelyne was so sweet and helpful, the room was very comfortable and clean, good breakfast, excellent garden with a nice river view. Our kid had fun with the family dog and chickens in the back garden. We would stay here again.

The place is very clean and pleasant. The mini refrigerator is a very good addition for us. The parking is inside the yard. There is a nice view to the river. We had a medical problem and the owner helped us efficiently to reach the doctor. Thank you!!
