The property is well positioned for our purpose but it is very rundown and shabby. There were
many dirty/ dusty places throughout the house
and as the host I was very aware of the situation. Sorry to not be able to report more favorably.
The horses were poorly fed -ribs showing! Supposed to be 5 fowls- only 1!
I will never book again without inspecting the property.

Great place to stay with the family, so close to wedding venues.
We had a great time before the wedding playing darts and pool.

This was a lovely quiet country retreat close to the gorgeous little town of Wollombi. Friendly locals & gorgeous little shops, great open fire pizzas at the local. Our host Michael was great to deal with, introducing himself in the town when he came across us. It was wonderful and we’ll be back!

Beautiful location, thw farmhouse us surrounded by pastures and forest with a meandering creek.
There were very friendly horses coming up to the house for a bite of carrots. Our labrador cross enjoyed our stay and befriended the 7 months old foal f some cheeky playrime.
The house is large and comfortable with many entertainment options. We barbequed each night and dined out on the balcony. While we stayed it was very hot an humid and the upper rooms are a bit stuffy but the night temperatures dropped and we could get a good night sleep. Very friendly owner and we would happily stay there again.Wineries are just around the corner too!

The space was great! Very roomy and fitted 9 adults well. Photos are accurate to the house. Check in was not 10am as listed, but 1pm. No phone reception. Weak wifi (only worked in some parts of the house). Would stay again with a big group!

We had a lovely time at the Farm. The house has loads of character and we weren't looking for new and pristine, we wanted homely comfort and it was the perfect place for us. My big fur baby stayed with us and he loved it. I didn't have worry about having him in the house. Five stars from all of us and we will definitely stay again.

Family farm get away
Awesome spot and Michael was a true champion host. Family enjoyed walks, feeding the animals, croquet, golf and backyard cricket, fire pit at night and some of the locally produced Gin.

Wonderful relaxing getaway
Michael is a wonderful host: generous, and a great communicator. He makes life easy and his beautiful, rambling farmhouse feels more like a home, with all its personal touches such as an open fireplace, large bathtub, chickens for fresh eggs and friendly horses. This is my second stay at The Farm, and we'll be aiming to come again, soon. Thanks again, Michael!

Serene setting and friendly animals
We spent two very relaxing days here with our two girls aged 8 and 9 who loved the animals. There are two free range chickens and also two free-range horses, two goats and a dog. We enjoyed sitting out on the verandah as the sun was setting, feeding the horses in the paddock or just behind the house and playing with Scrappy the dog. The fire pit is also awesome and the location is quiet, green and peaceful. Michael is an attentive host and a genuinely nice guy. We'll be back for sure!

We chose the Farm as our accommodation as my daughter was getting married at Redleaf. It was only a 5 min drive away. The kids loved the animals on the property. Property manager Michael was great . Would recommend

The Farm
A fabulous place to get away from everything. It was so quiet and relaxing. We had a large group and there was plenty of room for all of us with all the amenities to make it feel like home. The huge wrap around veranda could accommodate us all at the same time and became the focal area for many meals and games.
Michael, the manager was very helpful and provided advice to help cater for our family's specific needs.
We will be definitely booking again in the future. Don't forget carrots for the horses and the goats loved all the scraps.

Rustic farm
Rustic bushy and rural. Beautiful horses and Owner really looked after us. It is a farm so don’t expect everything to be pristine. Homey and huge areas for large families.

Very spacious. Plenty of room for big groups.
Great size house for an extended family stay., very spacious with plenty of seating , eating and sleeping area. Great position, not to far from town. Great northerly aspect which allowed us to spend lots of time relaxing and cooking on the huge deck. The grandsons enjoyed the animals, especially feeding the horses.

Rustic retreat
We stayed at this fabulous old farmhouse for a weekend in the middle of July. We arrived at night and the house was cold and took a little time to warm up but the fire and the numerous heaters got us there and once warm the house stayed warm for the rest of our stay. The furniture is certainly not fancy, but robust and functional. What you would expect in a farmhouse setting. Kitchen is basic but otherwise well equipped. Our only criticism was the lack of a coffee machine but our host Michael had alerted us to this beforehand and we had brought our own. An old record player and a stack of vinyl made for some good times. Outside the large balcony was bathed in sunshine most of the day and perfect for the afternoon snooze. Meanwhile the horses, chickens and goats kept us company. We had our 2 dogs with us and they got to know the animals too. Everyone got on just fine. No phone reception was a blessing but there was wifi. The village of Wollombi is only 5 minutes away with its pub, cafe and general store. Host Michael was easy to deal with. This is not a high end getaway, but a wonderfully rustic retreat.

The Perfect Farm Stay
Absolutely Perfect! We stayed at 'The Farm' for a quick weekend away close to Sydney. The property was exactly what we were looking for - relaxing, rustic charm and feels like you're a million miles from the City...
The Wollombi Tavern is also a must - lots of friendly and down to earth characters and a great atmosphere.
If you're looking for a Farm Stay close to Sydney, I couldn't recommend this property higher! 'The Farm' will be a regular for us!

Would not recommend
Nine people for a two night stay in preparation for a wedding in Wollombi. During this time two of the men at various times (at least 6) had to crawl in under the hose to flick a switch in order to get running water for the showers and to flush toilets. Once done it was fine but when the showers stopped the water stopped! There were problems with power when we arrived. This was rectified though we were left a little unsure re the safety of it after some comments from the owner. We did knock on his door (caretaker’s cottage) to try to alert him to water problems on the Friday night with no success.
Bedding and towels were comfy and clean but the house itself needed a thorough clean.

Pretty location but very unfortunate experience
Our family of 8 chose this house as our base for a wedding we were attending in the hunter valley. We were booked for three nights but ended up leaving after two, as the fire alarm unfortunately kept going off during the night for the two nights we stayed. The alarm had flashing lights in each room and was incredibly loud so it was impossible to sleep. Unfortunately there was no information regarding the alarm left anywhere so the first time it went off at 3am was a disaster! We assumed the flashing lights were for a security alarm and spent a long time frantically searching for a pinpad. The house has no phone or data reception so we ended up driving down to the town in our pajamas to try and contact the owner who we couldn't get hold of due to the time. Now this property has a long driveway with THREE gates that need to be shut behind you as you drive through! Not fun getting in and out of the car to open and close each gate at 3am in the morning.
We eventually figured out how to turn the alarm off but it went off several times more! The same thing happened the following night - we returned from a function at midnight to see the alarm already going off in the house !! It went off several more times that night so we unfortunately found it necessary to cut our holiday short as we didn't want to suffer through another night of flashing lights and sirens.
Now we understand that things like this are out of the owners control however we were incredibly shocked and disappointed when he did not compensate us for this severe inconvenience by providing a partial refund for the two nights where none of us got any sleep. We paid $1600 for two nights of flashing lights and sirens. We found it unacceptable that a host could have guests go through such a disaster of a stay and find it sufficient to offer a discounted rate if we ever chose to return. No thanks, we won't be coming back if that is the sort of ethics this host has.
Now to be fair , the house itself is in a beautiful location and it is very spacious. It was a good size for our group. I would however definitely advise any guests staying in warmer weather to bring some extra fans along as it was stinking hot while we were there and there is only one pedestal fan to share beteeen four rooms. There is aircon in the living room but as the house is so large it did not cool more than the living room area.
