Staff helpful and friendly. Room clean and high quality bathroom. Breakfast when available was excellent. Location v good for seafront and amenities.
Only exit when pub not opened down metal fire escape. While there, weather was v wet so fire escape was hazardous. As pensioners the 4 flights of stairs was difficult.

Good size of bedroom and bathroom, Saltburn is a lovely place.
We booked an evening meal the day before we traveled. When we arrived we were told they weren't doing evening meals because there was entertainment that evening. They should have contacted us to give us chance to book somewhere else.
Your website advertised breakfast. They only provide breakfast on Friday and Saturday mornings. We were staying overnight on Saturday, so no breakfast was available either. Tramping the streets on a wet weekend looking for dinner and breakfast is not our idea of a good time.
No blind or curtains in the bathroom, only a semi transparent coating on the window.
We were told to leave via the fire escape and past overflowing bins when we booked out.
As frequent customers of yours we are surprised you represent this pub.

Location
The price was a rip off to many stairs and the fire escape which we used out of opening hours r actually dangerous as they don't meet the legal requirements

Great location in an old style pub.
I was disappointed we couldn't get breakfast. They only do it a couple of days a week, but this wasn't stated on the booking site.
I didn't mind, but there are quite a few steps to climb in this old building.

A lift would have been helpful. My struggles using stairs,

It was clean, inexpensive, central, the room was spacious, the staff were friendly and helpful, free on street parking, lots of character.
I had no complaints.

Smell of cooking from the kitchen in the public area & in the shower there was soap & a bottle of shower gel left from previous occupants

This served our purpose; we were en route between a holiday in Scotland and returning home via friends and family. We’ve been tho Saltburn before and there’s a restaurant there we like that we could meet our friends at. We just needed somewhere central to stay. Saltburn seems to be an expensive place to stay and this was at the cheaper end, so we didn’t expect many frills. When I asked for a hairdryer the manager kindly delivered one to me. It was a stormy night and the power went off just after we returned after dinner out, the manager came down to check we were ok. Apparently power cuts are not uncommon during bad weather here! Thankfully the power came back on after about 20 minutes; be aware if the power fails no water goes down the drains as the en-suite has a macerating toilet which requires power to operate and the bath and basin both empty through the toilet outlet. It was a very large room, but warm and the bed was comfortable. When we arrived we’d had a long journey and I was pleased to see the bath. I enjoyed a lovely soak with plenty of hot water and the shower had good water pressure.
It’s difficult to criticise as this was cheap for Saltburn, but not cheap for a room for a night. Don’t expect big fluffy towels, shower gel, shampoo or conditioner.

Nothing
Shower too small I mean it was tiny. You couldn't bend down Had to use foot to keep the door shut. Had to use the fire escape because the front was closed. No glasses or hand towels. Room too small. No breakfast. Walls are paper thin. You could clearly hear everything next door

Excellent location for those arriving by train.
The bartender was cheerful and calm, and she sought to be helpful to residents.
1 Our room was up three flights of fairly steep stairs.
2 Access to the premises after 930pm until noon the next day (March 2023) was by means of steep back stairs combined with the use of a fire escape.
3 We had go to a nearby cafe for breakfast. The cafe was not open until 900am.
4 The bifold door to shower would not close.
5 The bathroom paintwork and sealant was dusty and dirty.
6 The heating was restricted. We felt cold before 8am and in the late afternoon/ early evening.

The room needs an update. It is advertised as have parking but it is on street parking.

Lovely room and large bathroom. Clean and bright. Loved it. Can't beat it for the price.
Rather than not like how about some slight negatives. They don't do breakfast but given the other options locally who cares? They do food in the evening but not Monday Tuesday. Again, feed yourself somewhere else.

Lovely, friendly staff, a great, traditional bar, great location, nice clean room. The warmth of the locals always shines through in Saltburn, lovely people.
TV reception was poor, the coffee was like gravy, no hairdryer and the hot water for the bath was limited. I think it’s fair to expect that these basics should have been included in that price we paid for the room.
