My husband and I spend a few days hanging out on the river while our kids were at camp. The location of the condo is perfect for privacy. Loved the options of sitting in the river or the pool! I enjoyed sitting on balcony in the morning and listening to all the birds in the tree right by the balcony. This location provides everything you need: tubes, towels, movies, and a kitchen stocked with cook wear! We plan on coming back with the kiddos!

We loved our stay. We have two young boys and they enjoyed swimming in the river and the pool. Everything is as shown with the condo. It was clean and communication with the owner was easy. Short walk to a great location on the river. The condo pool was clean and relaxing with two hot tubs. Also the large green space is fun for throwing a football or frisbee. And very close to the water park. Great getaway!

You do not see the river from this location (although the view is still lovely!). You have easy river access on the property- you just can’t see it from the balcony. This was a well appointed condo with everything you need. The binders with information were great! They need the add The Hideaway to the restaurant list! We ate there one evening- Best. Chicken tenders. Ever!! Very easy to communicate with the manager. Grounds are really pretty! Well come back again!

We recently stayed in a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment and had an overall pleasant experience. The property was just as described, and the photos matched reality. The larger bathroom had a tub, while the second one had a shower—both functional and convenient.
Cleanliness was okay upon arrival, though we weren't fans of the bathroom mat in the main shower tub. It’s a minor thing, but worth mentioning.
The check-in process was a breeze. We received timely messages from the host letting us know the apartment was ready, and accessing the place was straightforward.
Location-wise, the apartment is situated close to a cemetery (which might sound spooky but was actually quite peaceful) and faces a lovely park. It’s a short distance to Schlitterbahn, and there’s a gas station a few minutes away, which was very convenient.
The amenities were solid—everything you need in the kitchen, plus a dishwasher, washer, dryer, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and beach towels. We appreciated having all the essentials covered.
The beds were on the softer side, so if you prefer a firmer mattress, you might not be as comfortable. Seating included a small table with four stools and two extra stools by the kitchen counter, which worked well for us.
One downside was the noise level. The walls are pretty thin, and we could hear the neighbors snoring. I had a cough that week, and my family could hear me clearly through the walls.
Despite these minor issues, the property offered good value for money.

We had a great visit and the condo exceeded our expectations. Everything was clean and ready for us early. They even had tubes for us to use and lots of good suggestions and info for us for local things to do. Thank you for a great stay!

Great spot by the property to post up on the river. Everything was clean and it was a good size for our group of 6. Location was perfect for the river, Schlitterbahn and Gruene. Will definitely book here again.

Had a last minute schedule change and decided to go to New Braunfels for a visit to Schlitterbahn with our son. It has been a while since we have been there but found this property listed with great reviews about the place, location, amenities and the host. All were spot on. Suzanne was quick to respond to questions and also kept us informed about Checkin as the VRBO came available early afternoon. Walking in the place was clean and nice and cold! There is access to the river on the property and the floats. We didn’t use the river access at the property but instead went right around the corner to a city park and swam in the Guadalupe River for our first evening. Getting up the next morning we had passes to the water park which is a literally about 5 min walk or extremely short drive. We made dinner at the VRBO and had everything we needed to be able to make it with very little hunting around for items. Overall, if I were going out to NB again to float any of the rivers or visit Schlitterbahn again I would not hesitate to come back to this property. Thanks for having it available!

We came to New Braunsfels to celebrate my daughter’s birthday at Schlitterbahn. We enjoyed our stay at the Treetop Retreat. It was very clean, in a safe and centralized location, and it was roomy enough for the 4 of us. The check in and out process was very easy.
Loved seeing the deer out on the landscape. Wish we would have had more time to explore the grounds.
We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great time staying at the property! It was a very private unit with a great patio and view. Comfortably accommodated 3 adults. Nice jacuzzi and pool and private river access. Suzanne was very responsive and clearly communicated details about the stay.

Nicely kept condo on 3rd floor. Allowed for pretty views and deer watching. Pool and hot tubs were fun extra. Small balcony just right for coffee in the morning with the birds and deer.

Our stay at the Treetop Retreat was a perfect getaway for my husband and I. I really enjoyed the private balcony area the weather was perfect not to mention the Annular eclipse 9/14/23 was happening that Saturday. Our walks around grounds were peaceful ,tranquil and rejuvenating . I felt like a kid exploring my surroundings. I'm looking forward to staying in A301 ( Treetop Retreat) again.

the condo was great for the three of us. Centrally located and was easy to figure the vicinity. The river was low unfortunately, but still a gorgeous setting!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the TreeTop Retreat. The location was in the heart of New Braunfels and a quick drive to Gruene. It was very clean and roomy for our party of 5. We appreciated that they had 6 floats & an air pump available for our use. The pool area was nice and we enjoyed a long float down the river from Gruene to our location. Property owners were very sweet. We hope to come back in the future.

The location is perfect for your stay if you are going to Schlitterbahn, less than 5 minute drive. Additionally, Suzanne is a great host who quickly responds to any questions you may have. I recommend the property for a stay in New Braunfels. During our stay, there wasn't much flow in the river so instead of tubing we decided to do SUP (Stand-up-paddle board) and this worked out well. We did float from the nearby park to the condo, which although a short distance took about an hour.

We enjoyed our stay here. Came with my family of 4 and we were very comfortable. The pool options were nice, but we spent most of our time in the river next to the property. The apartment itself had everything we needed. You’ll definitely get your steps in walking around the property! Close proximity to everything we needed in town, and to Gruene. Would recommend!

We loved our stay here. The condo is on the third floor so it’s quiet and the neighborhood is safe. The condo was clean and it was so nice not having to buy our own tubes and air pump. The location is great for floating and going to Gruene. Would stay here again for sure.

Overall - unit itself is wonderful, owners were SUPER responsive and very accommodating and easy to get in touch with. The beds were very comfortable. House was stocked with everything youd need. Washer and dryer was super handy too.

We had a wonderful time in this condo. Suzanne, our hostess thought of every detail to make our stay comfortable. The decor in the place was in harmony with the beautiful nature scenery we enjoyed viewing every day we were there. The kitchen had all the cookware and utensils we needed. We enjoyed the inflatable tubes in the river and appreciated the towels in the basket when we returned to the condo. We liked how easy it was to find our reserved parking and to enter the condo with our given code. My family also appreciated the binders full of ideas for places to go see and great restaurants. Suzanne also included information about river tubing near the condo. I highly recommend this condo because it was the perfect setting for our family to enjoy one another in a cozy and comfortable place.

We had a wonderful time. It is so close to home and only an hour up the road from us. The condo was so close to the river and totally immaculate inside and out.
The pools and hot tubs were great.
The youngest girls enjoyed the games while the oldest enjoyed the pools.
I felt completely safe the whole time.

The Waterwheel's property is beautiful and extremely well maintained. The pool and hot tubs were immaculate. The river access is perfect! There are plenty of flat rocks on which to sit and places to put camp chairs in the water and relax.
The condo was better than perfect! The corner location makes it very quiet. The balcony extends all along the family room side of the condo and goes around the corner. There is plenty of room for sitting and enjoying the view. The view from the balcony and from the large picture family room windows is fabulous! Even better, there is a tall tree in front of one of the windows where we watched beautiful birds sit and eat the berries.
The condo was immaculately clean and very well stocked.
Suzanne was a joy and a pleasure with whom to communicate.
The Waterwheel's clientele was very family oriented, which we loved.
Suzanne's condo definitely will be our number one choice going forward!
