Weigh 2 Cool is a great place to stay - centrally located in the valley, near hiking, biking, wilderness areas, both ski areas. Shopping and local restaurants are a short drive away. The unit is very well outfitted, is clean, has comfortable beds and seating, and has plenty of room to relax for a few days. The online description and pictures are very representative of what is in the unit. The Best of Canaan staff were very helpful and pleasant and I highly recommend them. Dusty roads to and from were an issue with the need to get car-washes frequently. Was looking forward to have some time In the hot-tub, however the hot-tub was not able to be used because of the cover which was very heavy and the design of the deck area did not allow it to be removed and stored with much difficulty. Owner really has to get a new light weight cover. I voiced my complaint to the office staff when turning in the keys and she said she would send me a refund for the hot-tub fee since I was unable to use it. Our dog came back with a light case of fleas. our dog is a house dog and has been seen by Vet frequently and has never had fleas.

The home is in a great location to enjoy walks on the forest roads and the trails without getting in the car.Loved that it had a mud room and laundry.

This was our second trip to the area and we returned to some favorites... Douglas Falls, Black Water Falls, Bear Rocks Preserve, Moon Rocks and they did not disappoint. We also hiked to view Lion's Head in Dolly Sods, Red Runs Falls, Kennedy Falls, and visited Bald Knob, Seneca Rocks and more.

We enjoyed meals from Riverfront Wood-Fired Pizza, Canaan BBQ, and especially Sirianni's and enjoyed a couple of pints at Stumptown Ales and Mountain State Brewing as well as pastries from Tip Top.

If we return to the area in the future, we would hope to book Trail Runner's Retreat again!

We enjoyed 3 nights at this wonderful home away from home.... lots of wonderful little extras like coffee pods, creamers, extra blankets and access to cleaning products if needed. The home has absolutely everything we needed and was so relaxing! Our dog enjoyed all the space and being so close to nice trails made his year! The hot tub was amazing after hiking and horseback riding! Our 7 year old daughter loved the little book nook and the games! Thank you for such a wonderful home away from home stay!

Rental was great clean had almost everything you needed we will be returning easy check in and out. It would have been nice if check out was a little later than 10 considering what was expected for renters are do before check out. We didn't mind but you need to get up a litter early in morning or start the nite before. This was the first time I've had a list like this We did every thing on the list and I'm a little confused We washed the towels we used striped off the bedding that was used I guess this the new standard way . Plus we paid a cleaning fee . So all in all we did have a great time and the place was beautiful. Thing is when we got there the first thing we did was pull out our own towels and yes we travel with disinfecting spray and wipes. So you get the idea

This was an amazing rental! It took a bit to get to dolly sods but for the price and amenities it was totally worth it! The hot tub is covered so it can be used rain or shine. Everyone slept well, and I loved sleeping on the twin bed on the second floor - one of the comfiest beds I've slept in, in a rental cabin! I love that there was a TV in my room as well, and there was a TV in the other rooms too. The house comes with puzzles, a board game or two and lots of movies on DVD and NetFlix/Hulu so there is lots to view. The fireplace was super nice and really brought the living room together for a super cozy atmosphere. It was 3.5 hrs away from our home but the affordable price and stellar amenities plus super cozy beds makes me want to go back! The rental company was super responsive and answered all my questions. Key pick up and drop off was a breeze, and they made it super easy to find as it was on the way to the cabin. I will certainly keep this place in mind for a future vacation! Thank you for having us!!
