Top floor room had fabulous views to the mounatains. Close to the station but still felt a bit private. Staff were very helpful. Bathroom is gorgoeus. Very spacious. Cafe was delicious and convenient.

The location was amazing. Literally, straight shot from the station within a few minutes. We didn't have breakfast but had delicious coffee and matcha latte. The staff couldn't be nicer to us. Even after we check out and a day later, they let us leave our bags for a few hours to do a little more sightseeing before we left Takayama. Thank you, eph takayama!

Das Hotel liegt sehr nah am Bahnhof und an den Sehenswürdigkeiten. Das Zimmer war sehr ruhig, sehr sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Das Personal war extrem freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Das Hotel ist sehr empfehlenswert!

Location right by the train station, nice rooms, comfortable beds.

Booked breakfast includes only 1 cup of coffee! A second cup costs extra, very disappointing and unlevel.

Van al onze verblijven in Japan was dit de beste! Brandschoon, Superlekker diep bad. Fantastische fluffy dekbedden. Het koffietentje beneden heeft gewoon koffie net havermelk!!!En dat is fantastisch als je lactoseintolerant bent! Superservice, mooie kamer. Gewoon perfect en dat dichtbij het station!

Great location near station.

Location of the hotel is very convenient as it is only a short walk from the train station. The room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The girl at the reception spoke good english which made check-in very easy. Breakfast was superb and the cafe staff was friendly.

This hotel is very new and beautifully designed to be very modern in all its conveniences, but still absolutely Japanese in its character. This is not a generic hotel that would feel like it was anywhere.

The only trivial comment would be to slope the area near the tub/shower toward the tub so that water doesn’t collect there while using the shower.

Staff were super friendly. Very accessible washing machine and dryer on the same floor of your room (and only have to share ammenities with 2 other rooms). Great central location.

This hotel was a 5 minute, flat walk from the station. It was very quiet and provided tea and coffee all day in the cafe area. There was a washing machine and dryer on each level, coin operated but very efficient.

there was really no place in the room for our suitcases so it was very crowded. This is very typical of Japanese hotel rooms. Because one of the beds was against the wall, I had to climb out of the bed in order to get up during the night. That side of the bed also did not have a night table.

The location is amazing - 2 minutes walking from the train station and 5-10 minutes walking from Takayama's main attractions. The hotel is really small and cozy, overlooking a pedestrian street. The staff was really nice, spoke good English and helped us book a restaurant for dinner when everything around seemed to be already booked. We stayed in Takayama during the spring festival and the town was really busy with tourist. Because of that the price seemed a little higher but the hotel really delivered. The room was big, comfortable, modern. The beds were great for resting. The bathroom was wooden (nice touch) really well decorated and sparkling clean. We had various amenities at our disposal and comfy pajamas. The breakfast was nice - western style although we were expecting to have something Japanese which was a bit disappointing but it was prepared in front of us and was tasty and fresh. It was rainy during our stay and the hotel supplied free umbrellas. Overall we are super happy with our stay here!

We would have really loved to have Japanese style breakfast. But that's just personal expectations. The breakfast was really good nonetheless.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are clean and although small have everything you need. Perfect location as it is very close to the train and bus station, the old town, morning markets. Would definitely recommend it.

ephTakayama is a lovely, reasonably priced, nicely appointed, and extremely well located place. The staff is lovely and very helpful, including making dinner reservations. Some rooms are small so if that’s an issue, book for the larger ones. Otherwise, enjoy!

I had two nights in a larger room and two in a quite small one. Had my husband been with me in the smaller one, it would have been really cramped.

I loved everything about this hotel.....Location, staff, room, facilities and amenities. Receptionist and chef were very helpful.

overpriced for value

This hotel is very close to Takayama station, around 5 to 10 minutes walking distance to downtown area. The location is very convenient for travelers. The room size is big and comfort to me, furthermore, they provide self service coffee/tea bar to guests that you can take unlimited drinks before 8 p.m.. I assume everyone can have a good experience staying here.

Although the hotel only have 12 rooms but have full amenities in room. The bathroom is spacious. Staffs are friendly & thoughtful.

Breakfast is limited choice.
