Very friendly front of house staff.

The room was big. But that is the only good quality of that hotel.
First of all, it is not a 4 star hotel. Nobody speaks English there. I was told to call them to book a free shuttle and when I did it turned out that the hotel staff doesn't speak English. I asked airport person to call on ynbehalf and she was asked to call driver directly. Without ability to speak Chinese that all would not be possible at all.
Second, it's dirty and old. Equipment is scattered all around the floors and it's even difficult to get to the room. Breakfast was reall bad. Only good thing - hotel shilop is open till late.
Location looks close to airport on the map but it is not. Driver took 25 minutes to reach the hotel. Around there is literally nothing. Fields of rice.

Staff knocking on my door demanding that I come back to reception to pay for the room which they had forgotten on check-in. Also air-con did not work.

NOTHING!!! I have no word to describe this hotel. It's definitely not worth booking there. We requested a 'non-smoking room' and the room we got stink cigarettes and even had cigarette butts in the toilet. We immediately requested another room and were given another one that had a moldy smell, and the carpet was disgusting. The bathroom was moldy as well. The guy at the reception accompanied us to check, and he opened a few rooms and closed them straight away as he could smell the cigarettes.
In fact, the whole corridor smells cigarette smoke. We had a late flight so we were not impressed at all with the room to start with and then, after all the room dramas, we wanted to have something to eat and we were told that there's no food around the area and we enquired about food delivery, we were told that payment would need to be in Chinese remimbi and they expect you to even have the Chinese apps to be able to order food if you want to. They were not helpful at all. So we went to bed without dinner after such a long flight.
There's a little 'convenience store' at the hotel, but they only accept Chinese reminbi (even though they had an eftpos machine). They mentioned online that they have a restaurant at the hotel, but there is none!!! So either make sure you have dinner at the airport before checking in at this hotel or organise to get a taxi to take you to restaurant. Location is not very close to the airport, and streets are dark, so I wouldn't recommend walking around late at night.

I liked that I didn't get bedbugs.
Was not even acknowledged until a few minutes of standing in front of staff at check-in desk. Room number unclear. 408 written on key card. 8408 on door. Carpet was difficult to tell where pattern ended and stains began. Slept on top of comforter. No wash cloths. Dark hallways.

Large private clean rooms that are able to be fully darkened by the curtains. No desk lamp but enough good lighting. The check in was a little tideous but acceptable. Free airport transfer. Late check out at 12:00 was possible.

The room we eventually got was solid - spacious, quiet and clean. The whole hotel was well maintained. The breakfast, while not something to write home about, was decent and the lady who managed the canteen was friendly and helpful. There’s an hourly shuttle to the airport (takes 18 minutes) and if you’re in a hurry or can’t be bothered, you can take a Didi (Uber) for about 30RMB. On a side note, the drivers (one who took us to the hotel in the evening and one who took us back in the morning) were both friendly and helpful. We stayed here waiting for an early morning flight and for that purpose (or a long layover) it was perfect. If you’re planning to stay for more than a day, if an extra ride to the airport is too much or if you’re used to be pampered, you might want to look elsewhere. Btw, there is a hotel in the airport but it doesn’t show up on booking.com. All in all, for 225RMB a night including breakfast for three it was amazing.
When we were first checked in, we were given a room with a single queen bed for three people. For a while the girl at the reception claimed that this was our fault since we did order a Queen room. We explained we did specify there would be 2 adults and a 15yo when we booked, and there’s no way we could sleep in a single bed. After a couple of calls to the boss (and a splice of my frustrated demeanor) they agreed to give us a room with two beds for no extra cost (although it came up a couple of times).

Not much.
I don’t think they’ve ever vacuumed. There was so much dirt on the floor and large pieces of I don’t even know what. The bathroom had so much mold and grime. I didn’t sleep a wink because I was so uncomfortable being in the room.

The staff were so friendly and helped me answer any questions. They even found a great spa for me to get a massage! The room was comfortable and the overall atmosphere was relaxed.
