The beds were horrible. Very old, overused mattresses.

The place was right at the beach, nice view, and clean apartment.

The place was extremely loud and noisy. The windows were very old and certainly not insulated or noise proof. With a freeway and railroads less than 300 ft from the bedrooms, the windows were rattling all night. Add on the parties in the flat above us where 40 plus teens trampled around, loud music, and screaming, we were awake until 3-4 am. We ended up checking out early just to get a good night's sleep before leaving Catania. The host was not attentive to put it mildly. Could have cared less that we had no hot water, no gas to cook. We had to call him to find out and he was somewhat obnoxious and condescending. We had no electricity one night for a while. Again, the response from our host was delayed and condescending while we were sitting in the dark. We had to move a bunch of rubbish to get to the fuse box to turn on the electricity. Thankfully one of the neighbors in the building helped us figure it out. Not a good experience.
