Great location right next to Karatsu castle. Pine grove is also easily accessible by walking, around 15 minutes. View from the room was really beautiful, overlooking the river and the city across. Staff was amazing! Had a great conversation with Nakayama-san and he showed not only recommendations in Karatsu but for my next destination as well. The ofuro on the ground floor is also really good.

Everything is so good except that there was no big bath.

When I arrived to my room the sun was setting over the river. It was absolutely beautiful! My room was cozy in the evenings, looking out at the lights from the town on the river under some warm blankets. The staff were very helpful and gave me a huge map of the area, which I used to explore the whole day I stayed. The breakfast was delicious and had a wide variety of foods to try. One staff member could speak great English and another though couldn't speak English very much, was very helpful giving directions and recommendations of the area. This hotel exceeded my expectations. I would love to return again with friends or family to explore the area.

Parking was across the street and required crossing at a crosswalk with no lights. I had to stand a while before cars would stop for me to pass. However the facility and accommodation itself was perfect. I have no complaints!

We absolutely loved this ryokan. It was our favourite of our Kyushu holiday. The staff were incredible, so polite, so welcoming and they even gave us a lift to a few places especially when the weather turned bad. The room was lovely. We had a great view of the river and although we couldn't see the castle from our room we really enjoyed sitting in the common room and eating breakfast enjoying the castle view. There is a private bathroom which is great but there is also a small but very nice onsen (bath) in the ryokan which they run for you after dinner. The futons were also very comfortable and we loved the town. We will definitely stay there again if we can get back to Karatsu.

Very scenic with view of the river from the room and dining room. Both staff were extremely helpful with our luggage on check in and check out for our room on 2nd floor. Breakfast is great too! Walking distance to restaurants, convenience store and the nearby castle. Parking is across the road from the accommodation. Bicycle rental for a minimal fee available at accommodation. Free water top up in dining room.

The toilet. It was the standard tiny square toilet one would find at a business hotel downtown in the cities where land is expensive. No bidet function as well.
