Stefano, owner-proprietor was an excellent host. He took the effort to help recommend the dinner dishes. We enjoyed that so much that we decided to have lunch on check-out day. His restaurant was frequented by many local families, so it’s definitely a great place to eat, especially given the paucity of other options in the vicinity. We had two single beds with firm mattresses and slept well. Good hot water in decent sized shower stall; bidet and hair dryer.

Steep uphill climb if you are walking with your luggage, about 60m. Two flights of steps into hotel lobby.

Hotel Abete is a charming family run hotel and restaurant. The rooms are very spacious, clean and away from street noise which is refreshing! The restaurant is absolutely excellent- the food and the service. Plus, the owners are very helpful and friendly. Very comfortable place to stay in San Giovanni Rotondo and close to the Chiesa San Pio- an easy walk. I highly recommend this place!

This hotel has my strong recommendation.In the restaurant we got excellent food and wonderful wine. We were more than pleasantly surprised by the willingness and nice behavior of the hotel staff - especially our waiter. The hotel offers clean and very pleasant rooms, delicious food, beautiful views and great hotel staff.
