Very welcoming, warm comfortable, plenty of hot water and thoughtful dog facilities.

We felt welcome from the moment we walked into the Globe. All the staff were marvellous and the barman that looked after us in the evening made us feel special. The quality of the food was amazing better than eating in a top-end restaurant.

The king suite was beautiful and dinner was excellent.
The hotel has no private parking so on street parking is your option. We arrived for a Saturday night stay mid-afternoon and were fortunate to get a spot right in front of the hotel at no charge. This would be an issue on another day. While our suite was luxurious it was up 2 flights of winding stairs so definitely not an option for anyone with mobility issues. The hotel is right across from a lovely old church that is commendably trying to reintegrate the nesting of swifts, however these birds can be quite loud early in the morning. Be careful with what route your GPS leads you….. we were lead down a one lane cattle path for about 2 miles prior to arriving right in front of the hotel!

I arrived early for the room and they went out of their way to accommodate me and my room was made available. The room was well equipped and very clean. The food was excellent, I would certainly recommend the steak and ale pie.

The staff are friendly, the food is really amazing and the whole place is lovely. I always send my lads here when we are in the area, great place great value for money. I had some good news that day so may have drunk more than i should but the staff, the food, the rooms were all lovely.

Breakfast ok, though the cooked part was lukewarm, & a bit slow.
Shower head in bathroom was far too low for anyone above about 5 feet 8! I had to crouch down to get my head under the water.

Accommodations were quite comfortable. Location with view of the churchyard was lovely. We especially appreciated the shower. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Meals—breakfast, dinner—we’re excellent.

Pleasant, friendly staff and owner and customers too.. Great atmosphere. Superb food, a definite must to try! Great value for money. Glad we booked.

Room very good. Breakfast excellent. Dinner very good but could have done with a slightly wider menu. We had an excellent time at The Globe. Staff were excellent and very friendly.

Lovely pub restaurant and super comfy room. Very professional staff and friendly. Had a lovely meal in restaurant, highly recommended, and breakfast was great also the next morning

Superb old building in the centre of Chagford, rooms are stylish, spacious and carefully decorated and the bathroom was especially good. The details were spot on - good hot water, & everything worked. The dinner was particularly well presented and delicious, too - we would recommend eating here if you are staying. Staff were helpful (but see below) and generally prompt to serve, the waitress was excellent on a busy night.
Um, how can we put this gently? The service was a bit "1970's" .... The Globe is not a cheap place to stay and there was a serious lack of 'putting the customer first'. Management approach was all about on getting their guests to do as they are told, including wearing a mask, not sitting at certain tables in the bar, etc. This became quite funny at breakfast when guests kept changing tables and not sitting where they were 'supposed' to, but we felt the customer approach should more closely match the expectations of a modern traveller.

Breakfast was good, though more fresh fruit and honey would be good.
We saw a staff member be rather direct with a family that arrived for breakfast just before end of serving time. It was potentially embarrassing and totally unnecessary as they were within time and had paid for that.

Food was beautiful, breakfast was delicious. A huge room with beautiful views in a perfect location. The room had everything you could possibly need with a huge and comfortable bed. Staff were incredibly friendly. We would love to stay again.

Towels were a little on the small size. As we had other family staying nearby it would have been nice if they could have joined us for breakfast but The Globe does not cater for non-residents.

Very pleasant relaxed stay, staff were lovely and helpful, food was very good and bed was comfortable, everywhere was spotlessly clean.
