Die Vermieterin war super nett und hat zahlreiche Tipps und Unterstützung angeboten! Sie war auch stets erreichbar- wir kommen immer wieder gerne zurück! Der Strand von Afife ist wunderschön und es war eben nicht alles touristisch erschlossen!

Es war alles top!

Localização e acessos, oferta de piscina (que não utilizámos porque o tempo não esteve apropriado). O ambiente e sossego da zona e da propriedade. Acessos à propriedade (embora aquela fechadura do portão esteja quase a desfazer-se). O gesto e a amabilidade de nos terem permitido carregar a bateria do nosso carro durante a nossa estadia. Limpeza boa ou bastante aceitável.

Mobiliário e colchões das camas desactualizados e inapropriados tendo em conta o preço cobrado. Casas de banho desconfortáveis e com chuveiros entupidos ou a funcionar mal, tal como algumas torneiras. Falta de coisas básicas como lençóis/edredãos/almofadas extra e também sabonetes, açúcar e outras coisas que é expectável um alojamento deste nível de preço oferecer. Iluminação deficiente ou desactualizada. Alguns sofás ou cadeirões manchados e com aspecto velho e usado. No geral todas as condições do alojamento disponíveis deram a sensação de ser um alojamento feito para maximizar o lucro, oferecendo em troca coisas usadas, velhas e baratas ou de qualidade muito duvidosa (torneiras do mais barato possível, por exemplo) e mobiliário desconfortável, para que os hóspedes passem o mínimo de tempo possível no alojamento. No geral o conforto foi mau ou péssimo, passámos noites muito desconfortáveis e estivemos mesmo a ponderar reclamar e pedir reeembolso para mudar de local. Só não o fizemos porque gostámos muito da localização e há poucos alojamentos disponíveis na zona, que é na verdade a única coisa (a par da piscina) que é oferecida tal como anunciada.

The location in Afife was great, the little town has a couple of bars/cafes, a small supermarket, a train station and you can walk to the beach. The terrace was nice with a partial sea view. It was also a useful base for exploring up and down the coast and the Lima valley. Filipa, in reception, could not have been more helpful - replacing broken toaster and missing hairdryer and kitchen knives. The pool looked nice but it was very noisy, occupied by a family who rented several apartments, so we did not use.

I can only comment on the apartment we had - the duplex with an upstairs terrace “Fumeira”. It was the worst apartment we have ever rented on Booking.com - and we stay with them a lot. It was very expensive but “basic” does not even get close. The furnishings, particularly downstairs, were 1960s battered second hand (stained chair you would not want to sit in, battered table and chairs,one broke when it was sat on), the kitchen was a joke with tiny fridge, no work space or food storage area, ancient sink. You could only get light and air in the downstairs by opening the french doors - so you were always on public display.

Afife is fantastic - the beaches, the wooded hills. There's a shop nearby, and it's easy to visit other places. The accommodation is nicely done up, lots of flowers, and the pool is great. Also, I appreciated that there was salt, pepper, oil, and even handwash or washing-up liquid. The owner even enquired after us during bad weather which I found nice. Oh, and a wonderful terrace shaded with vines.

It started off on the wrong foot - the message that the owner wouldn't be there to greet us in person (that can happen!) reached us, when we were already there, trying to get in. Things got a bit stressed, but at least we got a quick response to our phonecall. That alone wouldn't have bothered me - shit happens! However, I see two major problems, one related to the house we stayed at, the duplex Fumeiro, and the second related to the property itself. Duplex: We knew there would be French beds, which are to small for us. But there was a room with two single beds available, which we wanted to use. Unfortunately, the room reeked of mould and damp to the point we couldn't sleep in there. In fact, all cupboards smell of mold and damp, but nothing as bad as the room. So, we had to sleep in the French bed. The mattress was absolutely awful, and we couldn't sleep much. Also, Solar Laginha is NOT suited for couples seeking peace and quiet. There's a big house with 12 rooms. the group in there was reasonable, they only had one pool party, and only once played hide and seek into the small hours. They were nice people, they simply had a different idea about their holiday. It's a clash of interests. What really isn't on - the group went out to the beach during the day and, knowing that, we planned for a quiet day by the pool. I was swimming in it, when a group of teenagers arrived and jumped in. They were polite and well-behaved and tried not to get in my way. But I was clearly cramping their style, so I had to get out. It turned out the owner was celebrating the birthday of her daughter! When I complained about that I got asked "What would you have done if there were kids? There are always kids here." A) I find it - let's say: inappropriate, shall we? that the owner uses a space she has rented out. B) If she wishes to do so, this should be announced beforehand!!!

Atmosphere, The View, The Pool, The Silence

Everything is very good, but please fix the Toilet and the Shower! No Probs, little repair things…

Beautiful location in a quiet area in the lovely village of Afife. The courtyard was lovely and the swimming pool fantastic, especially as the sea was too dangerous to swim in. Nice, very clean apartment.

The toaster and sandwich toaster were broken which was annoying.

The location was brilliant and the villa was lovely.

There was only one clothes horse for 14 people to dry clothes There were no mugs and a limited number of glasses and only one wine glass. The toilet seats were not the correct size for the toilet bowels which was uncomfortable

A superb location to stay, my family loved the spacious house and bedrooms along with a fabulous swimming pool with views of the beach. We will definitely return and enjoyed the relaxed nature of Afife, many thanks to both Andréia and Fernando who were fantastic to deal with.

Hlasitá peletová kamna. Very loud pellet stove. Absence pračky a stav nádobí. Absence a washing machine and condition of dishes.

Honestly one of the gems of Afife, amazing manor with a beautiful range of eclectic and very tastefully decorated rooms. Building itself has so much history, located almost in the centre of Afife, view of the surf from most of the property and 360 degree views from the top terrace of an already incredible place. My second stay here, Andréia and Fernando are fantastic also. One of my favourite places in portugal

Perfect welcome from the manager of the place. We got everything we needed during the whole stay. The swimming pool is beautiful, so is the rest of the place. Definitely a go-to if you want to stay on the area.

Lovely location in a converted Solar with each apartment with a themed name. We had 'Mar' Sea View apt which lived up to name with views of the ocean 1km distant. Kitchen well stocked - bed comfortable - everything perfect. Shared pool with views.
