House was very clean and cozy. Has everything you need and we were very comfortable. Really peaceful location. Short walk to dock where they have paddle board, kayak and seating. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place at Cooke lake.

There's so many good things we could say...the home and grounds were impacable. Ellen had everything you could possibly want or need. The area is beautiful and relaxing...white tail deer paradise! All the neighbors were friendly and welcoming.We rented a pontoon boat less than 5 minutes away and enjoyed a full day on the lake with our dog. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

We have enjoyed several stays in this wonderful cottage…usually in the winter. We were so delighted sitting on the porch in the evenings listening to the chorus of frogs by the lake. Absolutely enchanting! Ellen is a wonderful hostess. The cottage is immaculate and well stocked. Hopefully we will visit this cozy cottage again!

What an amazing property this was to stay in. Plenty of space but felt cosy. It was cold and snowy when we stayed so couldn’t take advantage of the proximity of the lake, but did get to use the fireplace. Cottage is isolated enough to feel like we were well away from the city but close enough to where we wanted to visit. Close to Bash Bish falls, Rodger’s Book Barn, Coopers Daughter and, of course, the supermarket and Stewart’s. Will definitely book again for our next trip

The house was beautiful inside - it was immaculate and the details were thoughtful and comfortable. The king bed was super comfortable. Everything was perfect. This is such an unassuming house. It was really lovely, and we enjoyed our stay very much. I will definitely plan to stay again.

We rented this property for overflow family guests of our daughters weekend. The host Ellen is so responsive and has created a perfect, relaxing place for a getaway or place for extra guests. She has beautifully decorated every room and provides everything you need for your stay. I highly recommend this property and we will definitely book again!

This is our 2nd visit to this property. We love the location, great fire pit, colorful leaves and lots of deer. We visited Bash Bish Falls and the local brewery was awesome. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. We had a very relaxing weekend and look forward to returning.

We had a lovely stay! The house was all updated, well decorated and so clean. The master bedroom was very spacious with lots of windows facing the woods for privacy and a really comfortable king bed. We enjoyed sitting by the dock in the Adirondack chairs as well as sitting at night around the fire pit at the house. The furniture in the house was well maintained and the kitchen was well equipped. We had great cell reception and wifi worked well too! I would definitely stay again.

A very quiet, relaxful few days. Well needed. Definitely too short.
The house itself was situated in a wooded area, with a few houses nearby. Occasional local traffic to and from our section of the lake/dock.
Beautiful views and easy access from the dock. At the end of the lake away from any faster noisier boats.
The house was clean and comfortable. Could have used a second comfortable chair on the.enclosed porch/dining area for reading, with a view.
A very pleasant, enjoyable visit. Would definitely return.

We had a wonderful time at the cottage - spent a lot of time swimming in the lake, cooked a few delicious meals, built a fire in the fire pit. The beds were comfy and the house was clean.
One word of warning - beware the deep gully on the right side of the road in front of the house. We arrived in the dark and one of our group, when trying to back up after overshooting the driveway, lodged a rear wheel in the gully. We needed a tow truck to get it out.

The whole family loved our stay! Beautiful location, perfect quiet cottage, the fireplace in the living room every night was just what we needed! It was so peaceful looking through the large windows in the dining room during dinner and coffee in the morning. Can’t wait to go back!

This cottage is so clean and nice. We made a fire every night with the wood they supplied and it was so comfy and cozy. The host made the process so easy and it was so quiet with deer visiting us daily.

This was our second stay in this lovely cottage in Copake. It is every bit as lovely and comfortable as we remembered. Ellen is a gracious and welcoming host. The cottage has everything you need for a cozy winter weekend…including a stunning fireplace. The master bedroom is large and luxurious with an extremely comfortable king sized bed. It was hard to get up in the morning!
We are looking forward to future stays in Copake Lake!

We did enjoy this residence. It didn’t have as many extras as other homes I’ve stayed in, no assortment of games etc. Internet was choppy. The kitchen was fairly bare, and unfortunately no coffee was provided for Keurig. There was only salt/pepper, sugar and old Instant coffee. It was slightly expensive for what it offered, but it was still quite a nice stay.

Cottage was lovely. So much natural light and nicely decorated. Equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Beds were comfortable also. Only disappointment was the dock was taken in before our stay making it difficult to fish.

We took our pups up (with prior approval, of course) and had the absolute best time swimming and dock jumping the days away! I can’t think of a better way to end the summer at this sweet little home, just a few minute walk down a quiet road to the water front. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Thank you again for such a memorable weekend!

lovely spot by the lake
Really enjoyed our time at Ellen's house--- it has everything you could want, in a tucked-away, peaceful place. We enjoyed the kayak and paddleboard on the lake, a great surprise!

An unattractive part of Copake Lake
We were hoping for a vacation that included lounging by the lake, swimming, and kayaking. We were able to kayak, but the lake access was a narrow aluminum dock that smelled unpleasant. There were a lot of boats around which also made it unpleasant to contemplate swimming. Copake lake is quite beautiful overall but this corner was frankly depressing . The house was clean and comfortable enough except for a shower that definitely needs a new shower head! Very simple but certainly acceptable for the price. We chose the house because not much was available that accepted pets. We will not be going back.

Great weekend escape
We had a great long weekend at Lake Copake. Unfortunately, we had an unseasonably cold couple of June days so we couldn't take full advantage of the lake, but the house was cozy and so newly renovated and clean that it made our stay wonderful. The house is fully equipped for your cooking and grilling needs. One suggestion is to add some more instructions around the house - for example, how to turn on the heat in the master bedroom (we needed heat b/c it was unseasonably cold!) and that the grill is connected to a gas line. Also, the grill would not light so we had to manually light it with a match. The area is super cute - had great coffee from Random Harvest. Really enjoyed our stay!

A much-needed re-charge
We hadn't realized how much we needed a serene getaway until we got to the cottage, and exhaled. Its bright and spacious, nicely updated with REALLY comfortable innerspring bed/big fluffy pillows. The front room is bright and holds a larger DR table that's also perfect for jigsaw puzzles or marathon monopoly. Only thing I'd suggest is bringing closed-toe shoes for the 3-4 minute walk to the lake. There's a lot of shale in the area, and the fragments will do damage if you're wearing flip flops or sandals. Go, and enjoy!

Second time- always a great stay!
This is our second time staying at Ellen's place. It is a special place and has become one of the favorite places to visit as a family. It is very relaxing and the house is always very well maintained. Great place to enjoy nature and rest.

Perfect getaway
The Cottage at Copake Lake was exactly as advertised! The property was *super* clean and comfortable, and it was conveniently located to many great restaurants, diners, and hikes. Great stay!

Lovely cottage by Copake Lake
What a lovely cottage! We had a wonderful stay in Copake Lake. The cottage is cozy and comfortable. From lazy mornings in the front room drinking coffee to evenings curled up in the living room watching tv, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The master bedroom with king sized bed and cozy gas stove was especially delightful. A truly lovely home!

We absolutely loved the house and the property. The house was spotless and fully stocked with everything we could possibly need. Totally comfy house and the fireplace is an added bonus. Hosts were responsive to all inquiries. Would absolutely stay there again.

Just perfect for our needs!
This house is so cozy and comfortable! We loved sitting in the living room and reading or playing with our grandchildren. The kitchen is well set up and there is a big dining table for groups to enjoy meals, as well as a picnic table outside. The bedrooms are especially nice, with quality bedding and comfortable mattresses. The master BR is HUGE, and has a king size bed-- bonus! The bathroom is modern and clean, and the laundry room has large new appliances. Anyone would have a great time in this wonderful house.

Great spot for a Fall stay
We enjoyed our time in this cozy cottage. The house was very clean and the kitchen well-equipped (tho no coffee maker except a Keurig). We loved the proximity to the lake and great places to hike. Look forward to returning some day!
