Great property! Had an amazing week!

The house is in a great location in Waves, nice privacy away from the beach, and with a couple vacant lots around it, we didn't see many people throughout the week. We enjoyed being close to a few good restaurants, especially the Waves Market and Deli and the amazing sandwiches. About the house itself - we were told that we could not check in until 5:30pm the day of arrival due to cleaning, 30 minutes later than the expected 5pm check-in, which seems very late by any standard. Upon checking in, floors were dirty, there was shattered glass in the living room that a child stepped on our first night, and we found more pushed under the sofa. There were a few encounters with cockroaches crawling on the faces of a few sleeping adults in our group. The wood on all railings and decks is severely weathered and should not be walked on without shoes. The futon on the bottom floor, listed as a sleeping option, was broken through the bottom, along with several other chairs inside and out being in disrepair. The second floor smelled very musty and of pets, which is to be expected in a Pets Allowed house I suppose. Much of the living room and dining furniture was in good condition and comfortable, but it was hard to look past the issues of cleanliness and disrepair in the majority of the house. Outdoor furniture was just wood and not comfortable at all, so we spent most of our time inside at the house. The pool and hot tub were in good condition and we enjoyed using those.

From the moldy tubs, to the ant infestation, hair clumps in the corners, and only one exterior door that locked, this house left a lot to be desired. We’ve been staying in OBX for 14 years and have never had a house that needed so much regular maintenance. The house has a lot of potential but needs some work.

Located on a private street with vacant lots on either side, this is a quiet spot. Beach is just 2 blocks away, and you can see the ocean between neighboring houses from upper decks. Nice polywood outdoor furniture as opposed to the usual cheap plastic stuff. Pack a basketball and enjoy a driveway pick up game! Inside, bedroom and bathroom set up allows for down time and privacy. Bar, dining area, and sofa seating accommodate a large group. Other great touches for multiple families include 2 outdoor showers, 2 washer/dryers, 2 full refrigerators, 2 dishwashers, and double place settings/flatware. Since I'm in the kitchen cooking a lot, I also loved the surround sound speakers. Beautiful evening views from the upper deck, but also walking distance to Watermen's and a 5 minute drive to Salvo Day Use area - two of our favorite spots for enjoying sunset. If stairs are an issue for anyone in your group. this property may not be ideal (there are lots of them). Otherwise, Wave Safari is a great choice for your next vacation!!

This home has everything you could ask for...there was an issue with the fridge in the kitchen, the veggie bins were missing..but we made do. Part to fix it was on backorder..totally understandable especially right now. Pool was great! Loved the HUGH dining table!! We are puzzle maniacs..room for the puzzle and to eat! The short walk (path through the trees) was the best! 3 minute walk to the beach...not just to the dune..but to the beach! Oh..and the cargo lift was a life saver!

We enjoyed the big house with a lot of bathrooms, proximity to the beach, big grassy field for volleyball, and the pool.
