Had a cozy stay here. Superb location, within walking distance to several eateries. More dining and shopping options available if you have a car. Optimal amenities and services are available, including free parking and complimentary breakfast with quite a number of choices. But need a bit more work on the scrambled eggs.

Lots of people staying at the hotel weren't respectful. pool had garbage in it, hot tub wan't hot. too many people in and out too many times(we stayed close to back door). People talking until late at night at the hall way.

We arrived at the hotel our room was still being cleaned. Then they came up and gave us an upgraded room. Which was fine but we were put from the second floor to the sixth floor. The elevator was not working 😕 we tried to go up had to take the stairs. We were really not impressed to say the least.

The hotel is getting older, though the rooms have definitely been renovated recently enough.
The big issue was the elevators not working. The hotel was to capacity and two of three elevators were unavailable. The cleaning staff was trying to use the same elevator as the guests which made for long waits and lines to get to the higher floors. I believe they had a repair person working on them when we left.

Wonderful staff. Rooms are about ready for a little refresh( nicked corners, bathroom grout, etc). Convenient location- close to shopping, restaurants, etc and to main roads to get around the city.

Holiday Inn Express South Common is our go to place and has been very nice and clean except our last visit. I wasn’t comfortable on the cleanliness of the pillow that I used. Doubting if it has been changed. The pillow case maybe?. I was smelly. It smells like a strong guy perfume or an old stock pillow? It’s was hard to describe. What I know is my pillow doesn’t smell good. It wasn’t clean smelling at all.

The first room that I was put in, would not connect to the internet. I called down to the front desk and they were more than accommodating to get me to an area of the hotel that had much better service.
As well, the non-generic soaps and shampoo are nice touch.

This was a nice location and the staff were friendly. Only downside was the tv didn’t work properly. A staff member promptly arrived to my room but was unable to solve the problem. He was to escalate it in the morning. He was apologetic for the issue. Overall, I would stay here again. A tv that didn’t work wasn’t a big issue.

The staff in the kitchen is not quite welcoming

We booked this hotel as a quick last minuite booking. Checkin was good, however minuites after checking in we got trapped in the elevator. The buttons wouldn't work, elevator didnt move and couldn't open the door. Had to call for help. My wife who has severe anxiety over elevators was not coping well with this event. We did get out within 10 minutes. Nobody contacted us afterwards, and at checkin my wife was going to mention if asked how our stay was. It wasnt asked so we left. We should have got offered a discount of some kind for what happened to my family in that very hot elevator. I understand things happen that are out of control but this was a tramatic event especially to my wife.

We’re so lucky to check into this clean and quiet hotel in Edmonton. We highly recommend it to every tourist.

The breakfast bar was swamped by 8:30, but they kept it stocked. Room was clean and comfortable, nice as anywhere I have stayed in Edmonton:)
The only bad thing was some inconsiderate guests arriving around 10pm and were loud in their rooms and through the hallway with kids running and yelling and slamming doors till after 11pm. Then I presume it was them up around 2:30am to catch a flight, letting their kids yell and such for another 10 to 15 minutes in the hall, excited for their flight I guess.
That was only one night, should have called the front desk at 11pm but my kids fell asleep in spite of the racket so I let it be, will continue to stay here.

I loved that our room is very spacious! Everything looks clean and comfy as well. They offer different softeness levels of pillows! Very close to restaurants and amenities.
The only cons I found are the following: We got the room facing the highway though and you can hear them at night. The hot tub is not working and the pool needs maintenance.
Over-all,. we liked our stay and we might go back!
